Once you become familiar with the lyrics I think it becomes more enjoyable. I love it, it’s quickly become one of my favourite songs of their, I love the vibe, it’s dark and gritty, I know it has divided fans but I personally like the way the vocals have been done, it reminds me of old school TV’s when the signal was weak and you could only hear the voices in the distance behind the static.

I'm actually pretty sure that the line about being there the day the towers fell (9/11) is because 9/11 was what inspired Gerard Way to start My Chemical Romance!

I'm so happy you guys reacted to this. I love MCR I finally get to see them in concert this October. I'm soo pumped, and yes Gerard saw the towers fall on 911. He was going into work. This was what got him to start My Chemical Romance.

Just to add to your comment. He was on a ferry heading to New York, to try and sell his idea for a cartoon to Cartoon Network. That’s where he saw the towers and decided that life was too short not to take a chance on something you love x

@@blackfairyxdusy Yes and remember him saying afterwards. Being on the subway. Seeing people crying, calling loved ones professing love also proposing. I remember that day very vividly and where I was. Was a very sad day for America. Thanks 💕

@@darcye7629 I’m not American, but it was a tragedy all over the world. Skylines and Turnstiles was the first song MCR did about Gerards experience xxxx

said by someone else " For what i understand the song is about aging while doing nothing, and see the world around you and everything you've built succumb to time and decay. In the end he says "it comforts me much more to lay in the foundations of decay". As if he feels more comfortable doing nothing, avoiding his fears and anxiety. But then he yells at himself "get up, coward", inviting himself to fight it and do something'

Awesome reaction guys! I got my 14yr old (who's obsessed with MCR) tickets on his bday for he and I to go see them in Cincinnati. First time seeing MCR for both of us, and his very first concert! Tickets were ridiculous and we don't have great seats but who tf cares haha it's My Chem! We're so stoked! My Chem really helped him before and after his suicide attempt back in November. They helped me after my first attempt many moons ago. This will not only be an incredible bonding trip and experience but healing for the both of us too... It's definitely bittersweet!

I think this song is heavily referencing MCR and their early days. The towers falling is what inspired them to become a band in the first place and with the sound not being the greatest of quality I think is them trying to go back to their I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love album which was their debut album. This song sounds like it would fit perfectly on it.

I absolutely appreciate you guys being willing to give your honest opinion, especially knowing that's gonna guarantee garbage ppl will show up in your comments making jackassess of themselves. also I agree with your take, it's not that it's necessarily a bad song, it's that they have set a high bar with previous work

If you are a true MCR fan maybe you should actually be referencing the BULLETS album instead of BLACK PARADE. Each of their albums/songs are like a book or story that are carefully crafted and take you on a journey. This was 6 mins I am more than happy to keep on loop. #MCR22

See, to me, it sounds like they were putting those old elements into it to kinda say, "Hey, we are the MCR you grew up with and still us," but then throwing that stylistic switch in with the actual scream vocals to say, "we definitely have matured and are adding some growth and experience to our sound."

I think to really appreciate this song you needed to be around from their first album or at least liked that one.. this song has moments of their first3 albums all in one! I didn’t like it as much at first either it was good but I was also happy this is what they came back with.. as weird as that sounds haha.. after a few more listens it gets a lot better, especially when you know what he is singing about and can hear the words! But that’s just my experience :)

thats is what mcr for .. you don’t really understand the lyrics until you read it.. thats how gerard express his song.uniquely. im glad the new song has old song vibe not like the nanana .. i love more song like demolition lover, thanks to the venom, mama or the sharpest lives instead of black parade.. but surely black parade it is what people like.. because it more universal and less emo

Love the song. The mixing is bad. Evanescence and within temptation new albums have the same problem by sinking there vocals to far back and letting the band take over I was so sad they also have it. So happy MCR is back tho and great song. Had to put subtitles on to hear what Gerard was singing. Which great voices we should not do.

This song missed with me. I guess I was hoping for a catchy hook and beat and this is not that. I am sad and disappointed.
