Singing with his wife is my favorite part of this. It makes the emotion you "feel" in the song very real.

To me, when his voice gets gritty and raw, it feels deeply emotional. Regret for past mistakes mixed with wonder and appreciation for what he found.

I don't care if anyone agrees with that or not ... but the fact is that it's the best homage to Etta James ... ever! Well, now ... We can discuss why this country song sounds like raw, old-fashioned R&B from some southern porch ... or whatever ... Why this guy has such a freaking "blackish" crisp voice ... which makes you believe that good old Jimmie H. does this piece instead of Etta! But...

I'd love to give y'all a whole list of songs to react upon, but there are two that I think you need to hear, regardless of whether you make a video of it or not. 1) Let's start with country... Back in the 90's, a group called "the Tractors" made a fun lil song called "Baby Likes to Rock It." I think you'll like the lead singers voice. 2) A left turn off the highway usually playing in some VFW or other such smaller venue, there's this type of music that gives new life to an old style... It's called Big Band. One such group is called Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.. And the song I'd love you to hear is, "Zoot Suit Riot." (I'm an eclectic geek myself and listen to everything.)
