Good morning Mr Pacific, such a pleasure when one of your new video's pop up. Mock up is looking fantastic, this is really going to be a handsome scooter. I find it amazing that the mind allows us to vault certain images or memories that mean so much to us and with 30 plus years of planning this build, you finally get to pull those ideas out of the safe. My grandfather, Edward Sullivan, God rest his soul, who was a WWII Pearl Harbor Veteran used to tell me the most amazing stories growing up, while kids were being read "The three Billy goat Gruff" I was getting cool details of the Battleship he traveled on in the Pacific. Towards the end, he started developing Alzheimer's, forgetting our names and who we were but you could see it in his face that he knew we were important people in his life. Point is, during his last weeks here on this earth he'd pretty much had forgotten it all except when it came to the time he spent in the Navy and was sharper than a Katana blade with intricate details. The stories were amazing but it was the joy in his face and the fact that this was a way for me to connect with him to let him know that though we now seem like stranger's, I was able to remind him of times in his life before my father was even born. This solidified his empty thoughts and brought so much joy to him because though he believed I was his grandson, I was able to prove it in the moment and bring him comfort during an ending of confusion. None of us know what the future holds in store but we got today and I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park when you share those memories that mean so much to you in your life with us. So I hope that when you dig in your vault to share those memories with us, that it takes you back to a simpler and happy time in your life. You have paved the way for younger Jedi's such as myself and have inspired thousands with your wisdom, that in itself is a miracle sir. I'm happy to hear that all is well in your life and for what it's worth the fact that you still kickstart your bikes is nothing short of badass. You make a positive difference in this world Mike, so please take care of yourself and take comfort in knowing that you are more than a California cool dude, you're an inspiring Legend who's name will be remembered for generations to come.

Your relationship with your grandfather is something truly special. The communication that transends the spoken word is something people usually miss. But you've shared it with someone special. Obviously, you too are special. We all make up the world and each puts their part in. We all should strive to be a positive influence. Your kindness carries quite a distance. See you out on the road.

Glad you're back as well Mike. You spoke of the right/left side front brake level placement and it reminded me of something you and your viewers might appreciate. Back in the early 70z, I read this article I believe written by a Neurologist who was a motorcyclist, and had strong feelings AGAINST the switching over to the foot shift lever to the left. He claimed that it was NATURAL for the brain to clutch with the left hand and shift with the right foot, and conversely, the rider was forcing the brain to work against itself by shifting with left foot and clutching with the left hand. I was drag racing my 72 Sportster at the time, and my street bike was a pre-unit Triumph, so I found this interesting. Some of the younger folks might not realize that in 1973 for a motorcycle to be sold in the U.S., the shift lever had to be on the left. Hopefully you, and or someone does as well. Thank you for another great video. SARGE. Oh, and I'm thinking Black and Ivory would go well on the tins. I know that whatever color/colors you choose will be perfect. I think Harley offered this on the late 30z VL ???

Yah, I'm going to do something very simple for paint. It's in my head and will spill onto the tanks and fender when the time comes. Here's one for you. Years ago, I used to ride with a buddy of mine who was slightly older than me. This was about 35-40 years ago. He was strictly an Indian rider. And, his Indians flew. They were traditional in that he ran a left hand throttle and and a right hand shifter. Of course, he had a left foot clutch. This guy won slow races and was really an awesome rider. But, he swore up and down, Indian had it right and everyone else had it wrong.

I don't think it warrants a video. But, they're bags for a horse. They go under the seat and over the pipes. They're tied to the frame, so they don't fly up at a hundred miles an hour and hit me in the back. The pipes have exhaust pipe heat shields I cut to fit so the bags don't get hot. Thank You. I hope this helps.

Mike, recently ive run into timken bearings that were not made in the u.s.a. . Have you run into that situation? Anyhow, its something too keep an eye out for. I wouldn't put faith in foreign made timken bearings.

Really good to see your okay. The build is looking good. Maybe you could find a brake lever for the right side that's 180 degrees opposite of the lever that's meant to go on the left. It's much safer to have the brake in the position your used to. Reacting in a emergency situation instinct takes over. As always thanks for another knowledgeable video and keep the rubber side down.

Just watched your latest video and have a comment regarding the break rod on the front end that you stated you possibly were going to cut the end off and rotate it 180 and re-weld it to take up the gap between it and the front fork. I could see exactly how the rod is attached at the break drum but it appeared to me that the whole rod could be rotated 180 which would solve the clearance issue without cutting and re-welding it. That would put the zert fitting on the bottom instead of the top of the rod but that shouldn’t cause any problem. Just a suggestion!! Love your video’s, keep up the good work. Love those old Shovelheads. I have an ‘83 FXDG that I ride a lot and also, as you know with Shovelheads, I get to tinker with a lot. Thanks,
