I had some sympathy for the Mitie security guy that came out just before you put the drone up. He was stuck between what the management were telling him and wanting to appear polite and professional. I thought he did well to not press too hard to tell you to stop. And he listened to what you had to say and relayed it back to the site management. And then left you alone after that. Overall, I'd be happy to carry on eating KP nuts after this. Not that I eat them often (too salty).

i think renew is either 2 or 3 years the same as a FLT licence i had reach counterbalance and a ten-ton dumper licence SIA badge but that was a few years ago now

If the security guy knows his stuff ( or at least checks it ) and can quickly assess that there is no threat, and do it all in a professional , manner remaining calm , then that IS a good Security Guard in my book. The emergency services people for example are ‘chilled‘ people , just do their job , they don’t panic , they can remain calm assess the situation and act , without any of the hysteria you see from some of the Security people that approach auditors. Yes they should have the Hi Viz, and yes they should have had their badges , but DJ did not lecture them on that because they had not kicked off, and not made Aggressive demands. My guess is the next day, they both had that sorted.

My favorite line everytime is " are you one of those SIA guys " DJ pretending he don't know anything about them. Love it 🤣

I worked for this company and others close by, What you have to remember with security is if the client requests/orders something then security MUST be seen to trying to obey even if they know its not right or correct. 99% of security are just sub contractors ONE call from the client and they are gone or moved to a different site. The security managers ALWAYS side with the clients over their own guards under any situation. At the end of the day clients are worth more than their own staff. The security are always stuck between a rock and hard place with things like this. I know this security supervisor/worked with him and passed on a few drone rules last year when he wanted to get into flying himself.

Companies need to understand that security guards are a representative of the company. So if they project a negative image, that is attached to the company too. So if their security managers insist that the guards do stuff which is aggressive, is done with no authority, etc then it is the security managers who should be re-educated. If that means that the security is told to fuck off or as in DJ's case in a more polite manner and then reports to the manager that nothing was done it usually means the manager comes out. And then he can be identified and educated. Or if they refuse to be educated, embarrassed by the publication on KZread of their stupid actions.

As an ex doorman of 22 years I couldn’t agree more and could give many examples of licensees breaking the licensing laws much to the dismay of us and the people who owned our company. It’s very hard to make them do the right thing when they can just replace you without being held accountable. That’s unless you want the expensive and long procedure of taking them to court for a version of being forced out of work. I can’t remember what it’s called but as you can imagine it’s a long process it’s easier to just get other work. You also find the clients don’t like clever security who have higher qualifications in their full time job and more expertise than them. They just like to be right when they are really wrong. I’ve had arguments with staff just because I didn’t drag someone out of a venue, they didn’t think the person warranted walking out calmly 🙄 and that’s before I talk about large companies wanting the impossible on special jobs.

@@zigzagtoes I stopped doing the doors 2 years ago, but that looks about right. Been there a few times when the client was wrong and also acting illegally and when he was there he would pick words and eventually we stopped doing those jobs as they were putting us at risk too. Maddness.

You were too kind to them DJ BUT as they were nice, smiley and probably knew they were in the wrong, you reciprocated and never gave them hassles over the Section 9 Crimes they were committing. It will be fun to see you approach them with your own SIA Badge and they then REALLY will think you are an Inspector, which you can be and help to weed out all the bad actors. How much is the course and let the Subscribers fund it for you. I am up for a donation towards it ASAP! Cheers from Devon

I am wondering if they been visited before by other auditors, but the 2 security guards seemed pleasant enough especially the first one you spoke to regarding the sia badge and coarse what a pleasant young man he was.

i have to renew my badge every 3 years at a renewal cost of £220 ...if you're currently employed by a company 9 times out of 10 they will pay for your badge renewal as long as you're employed by them...usually taking an agreed 'say' £20 a month from your wages until fully paid, but if you leave before you've paid it off you will owe the outstanding amount from your final wage ...hope this clarifies

I think those bits of wood are to set the loading/unloading space between the trailers and the fence. The fence might've been hit by a cage.

The security man at the gates,is my twin brother ,he works funny shift's,we share the same bedroom and we are in double ,,bunk beds .one morning my watch went missing and I noticed that Kevin had it on in the video,the little bugger,wait till I see him,I've been looking for the watch for ages,I got it at Argos at Christmas,and haven't seen it since,,wait till he gets in,Ive told me dad,and he's got his belt ready for when he comes in.thanks for your video I'll get my watch back,, cheers,if I get a keyring ,I will call me dad off,take DJ.

Noticed in Ireland McCoys Muchos are called Tayto Muchos because Intersnack KP own Tayto in Ireland but Northern Ireland Tayto is a separate company that also make Golden Wonder.

The extention will still be in planning phase. Application will have been submitted to the council who then place all the documents on their "planning portal" for public viewing, and place a notice on the public pole which you saw.

I hold a security license in Australia. We dare not not display it because if a coppers look for it and if it isn't there you get in trouble. Our cops don't like security, they'll yank your chain if you aren't entirely proper. The job is becoming more professional.

Hi DJ, just watching your video and all the fencing and turnstile that you are walking past and up to, is my work. Up until the fencing was put up security wasn't at its best. When I was a child you could go and buy the Brocken briskets or as we did go and follow the lorry on to the local tip grab a box and run off home . they probably wouldn't want people knowing that but it's true

Blinking dangerous having your hands off the wheel....however as private property I wouldn't have thought going in and stopping/parking espec in the staff carpark he mentioned and just using a phone for a quick call or checking messages was a crime. You're not on the public highway.

SIA . just be there at 6AM its a £100 in your hand ,its all over britain now ,just tuirn up £100 and stay on your benefits . no one needs to know its Britain every one is at it .And HGV drivers borrowing a licence then going to an agency ,Agencey just sends you to a company 12 hour night shift £300 quid at night all done . After a week your well in the door .

i did the SIA course and was then told i would not get the badge until i got a job you CANNOT say you have an SIA until you have it so that is a stupid way of going about it i was also on ESA TRYING TO GET BACK INTO WORK and was trying to get a job on cctv but i was told i had to go to the football matches and stand around for a couple of hours even though i could not do this and i could not go on the cctv course until i had done all of the above so i was screwed

Many building codes I’ve read, want a see through type fence. They don’t allow you to have a private front yard.

I will get me some roysters ( actually my favourite crisp) as a thank you for treating the public as they should do, it's fine that they asked not to take the drone over, as you can voice concern and preference. Well done to both the security! As a Scottish SIA holder I'm pretty sure the company takes money from your wages to pay for licence renewal at reasonable amounts. Licence last 3 calendar years, name, photo, and licence number it doesn't belong to you, belongs to the SIA.

My mate got paid to get his licence. He went to London all expenses paid and gets paid £15 an hour to dress in a fake police uniform and the funniest part is that he is a prolific shoplifter who is banned from every tesco while working as a guard in tesco because absolutely no background checks are made when being given an sia licence. Quite funny if you think about it.

@@returntodreamcastle6810 As long as your "crimes" are spent, in other words as long as your previous charges have led to time served or fines paid, they can't stop you from applying, it's up to the company to check you out. As long as you tick the box that you've been naughty then there's bugger all they can do about it. It's against the law to discriminate against you for your crimes. Fook I've got drug charges and still got one.
