We can relate to the dentist scenario. Finally found a pediatric dentist who let my son come in once a week to get used to the chair, lights, sound...My son uses headphones, sunglasses and wears the X-ray blanket for pressure. One step at a time...you guys are the best! Praying for you😊

Hello! Aww I am sorry Nick had a stomachache last night! I am glad it was a quick fix! For the dentist conversation, I definitely thought social story for sure and even a small dentist set for practice situations. (Relatable practice for us here too...) And a fun time was had by all in the end! 💙💙💙💙💙

Show those teeth that's fantastic. We did social stories Social stories of course great idea and ask too be last appointment of morning before their lunch or end of day. We did the mirror and plastic pic. You have great ideas. Maybe, take phone blue. He has come so far might surprise you.

you can get one of the tooth cleaning kits (mirror and tool) from walmart. I bet he will also have to get accustom to the sound of the equipment

Good luck with the dentist. I basically have no advice or tips since I have had so many bad experiences. As an adult, I still dread going to the dentist. But Nick has beautiful teeth and you want to keep them that way!

We had a stuffed fish with teeth to practiced on it helps and the dentist playdough that comes with mirror and all the stuff

I don’t think kids EVER forget these bad experiences! He has a beautiful smile. What about trying something like a waterpik sonic at home or another brand? Being tied down is a bad enough experience!

Rockstar Nicky! I would suggest look online and see if you can get some dentist things and maybe have Sam work with Nicky too especially since Nicky trusts Sam. I hope everything works out.

My son was like that. I thought he would be fine since I have no problems with the dentist but no he screamed the place down when they were checking my teeth. It was only at the age of 11 that he allowed the dentist to look at his teeth but the dentist could only check with his finger

My daughter was four she was a typical kid until the dentist it took nurses and me to hold her she went absolutely crazy I had to scream stop to them I was crying she was crying from then until 12 she had to be put under.That facility scared her so bad.I never took her there again so please do your research before you bring him in.Goid luck I'm praying for a great exsperiance for him.

Hey nicky I am sorry to hear that he doesn't like the dentist and I was like that too but now I am calm and I let the dentist do what they need to do and also I go every year for a dental appointment and so far I am good and I had to get two fillings done and yup it was kinda painful but I was fine and so far and I hope the next time u guys go to the dentist get the dentist give him something to keep him calm but if that doesn't work them get him to listen to music until there done and it should help but I guess he doesn't like the dentist at all and know that nicky is scared but hopefully the next time u can find something to distract him and also he might not be comfortable around him becuse he doesn't know them that well. 🙂 p.s thanks for your nice messages back and love to keep watching your vlogs

taking Nicky to watch you guys have an exam might be a shout. aside from having johnny prod around in his mouth with mirrors etc and you guys doing it to johnny and getting him used to the 'actual' procedures, modelling that its ok for you guys may do what the work out does for him where he sees people he loves and looks up to doing it and gently joins in? one day he goes and waits in the waiting room, then he sits in the room and watches and can leave at any point, at the end of an exam you can have him sit in the seat whilst you pick up your things to leave just as a sit down and rest whilst i get my keys and phone etc. so its not a big deal? he watches your videos no? maybe you could make a fake video and have a clip of you guys having a dental exam with some music over it just as a start where youre not talking about him going to the dentist but everyone else going to the dentist is normal like with haircuts, his family comes home on the regular saying 'i've had a haircut' and youre smiling and laughing and happy about what you've done. coming home and saying you've had a good day at the dentist and when he worries and says 'no dentist' reiterate that he isnt going to the dentist but you have and it was a good time? i'm falling asleep so haven't read this back lol oops have a lovely weekend!!

What if you bring Sam with you to the dentist he seemed to help him when he first got his haircut

My son That is typical no disabilities got scared at the dentist he had to go after a kid that was screaming ! Needless to say my son would not open his mouth! The asshoke dentist blamed it on me! He never went back to him! Was not me it was him and the kid screaming that got him! He tried to tell me it was me and my had to take him then on! We did not go back there again! We got a different dentist! And it was much better! Do not kiddos with special needs have a hard time. And my Don had been there plenty of times. But we did not have to be treated with no respect! What did they think he would do after that! He was not the only one to not let him check them That day! About 5 or so other kids would not go back their parents took them out of there too!
