You definitely need to mess with the gearing, id try out 15(clutch)/53(rear sprocket). Max porting and polishing the head does sooo much improvement in air flow too. Also port matching and scoring the whole intake manifold helps with atomization of fuel.

@@melvindoo2396 It's a bike meant to do 20 and they are trying to push it to 100, with all the modifications and increase in fuel air and compression it's basically a grenade. When the dude said "you better not blow my foot off" it was a genuine concern. But to be fair most engines are grenades we have all accepted as part of our lives.
@AKPC-0331

@martinc7561 i think you think engines are much weaker than you think. Theres a reason they upgrade multiple parts that dont directly give it horsepower, it overall strengthens the motor as well. Only time it becomes a grenade is when you push it past the upgraded parts spec. Once those upgrades are on, its no longer "meant" for 20 mph. Its meant for whatever horsepower the upgrades can handle within their specifications. Just like with a regular unmodded motor. Its not even close to a grenade because they're operating it under the new modification's specifications. 😂

3 to 18hp was an insanely good gain for such a small engine, with just swapped internals and a better carb. Well done. I honestly thought that little pewee grade engine would have been tapped by 12hp, and needed nitro or likely not feasible FI to go further.

I wish they would have said what cc/size engine they're using. 3.4 hp sounds like a 79 or 100-ish cc engine. Those Phatmoto bikes use a 79cc but have cheap clutch & some other cheap parts. With a better gopowersports clutch & few others parts one of those Phatmotos could be very reliable.
These Jerry minibike episodes are so good. I hope they keep making more in this series.
I had absolutely no idea there was a market for performance parts for small gas engines like that. So cool. Honestly, this is so much fun to watch. It would be super scary to drive it. I hope Jerry is wearing a helmet and pads for the 100 MPH attempt.

If there's no go fast parts for your engine you can have those custom made. Well known names like Wiseco, CP-Carrillo, Ferrea, SCAT, Crower etc. can do that for you, but you will be responsible for correct measurements and strength goals. I love how the dyno tech is arguing with a near budget-unlimited mechanical engineer, like he knows anything the other guy can't just calculate
Back in ‘95 (16yrs old) I worked in an alternator/starter reman shop. Another shop down the way brought a go-cart by and would do laps in our side lot. My boss/uncle got out his mini bike and they would race. It finally evolved to them putting nitrous on the mini bike and go-cart. The mini bike was scary once the bottle started to empty you’ld have to lean forward to keep the front end down. Good times, you’re bringing back good memories.
This is a great series. Hi-Low with mini bikes perhaps?!?

Those motors usually have oil level sensors near the on switch that cut the engine if it thinks it’s too low and when you mod it to do higher rpm’s it’ll splash the oil around a lot and the sensor will cut off ignition thinking there’s no oil in it
