All of you are truly Blessed to have each other. I admire the closeness of the kids and their Happy Go Lucky Attitude. This comes from Good Parenting so I commend you both for the effort you have put forward to raise your children properly. And the '52 is pretty cool too.

As a father of five grown kids 23 to 30 years, my family is all over the country working different types of jobs. I will never have the same experiences of working with my children on my hot rods. I really enjoy watching your family grow closer each build you take on. Mom and Dad deserve an award for having raising such a great family.
Great to see these young men becoming hard core gear heads. They couldn't have a better instructor.
It's good to see you make your kids have some sweat equity in their cars. I'm also glad that you seem to realise that not all of them have the same talents and desires. I've tried to teach my kids very basic handyman skills but their hearts weren't in it. One does animals and one does computers but both can take care themselves. That's all you can ask.

That's a proper little brother, never willing to admit that his older brother's stuff is actually pretty cool. Keep em grounded, Korbin.
That one happy young man. Another great video. Thanks
I really love watching you guys, Chad keeps it all together calmly, quietly, gently managing, a lovely father, husband and a master Tradesman/Artisan .
What does Dad think? need to make a wiring harness.....!
After using ricip saws for decades, one finds they are easy to straighten just using your fingers and hands with great results. No need to belittle the operator for getting it jammed, just let him learn to straighten the thing.
@chadsfab
Жыл бұрын
Kenner's straightening of the blade was edited out (Kyler didn't turn the camera to follow him) but he did try and he got it fairly straight, but with his second attempt it bent again so Chad went to straighten it. The teasing comment about keeping it straight was after a challenge Kenner made to dad to see if he could keep it straight, sadly the whole comment wasn't on camera so didn't make the edit cut either. There's a lot of banter going back and forth but with shop noises we often miss out on some of it 😉 - Stacie

Good to mock up and test fit everything first . When my son was in HS he/we bought project truck (50 Ford F1) to work on. We got it in parts, we pushed the cab and chassis in the garage and put the rest of the parts out back. We went all over the chassis, modified the ride height (lowered), did some custom work on the cab and got it ready for paint. When we got the engine in we brought the the fenders in, couldn’t wait to see how she set. On a 48-52 Ford F1-F3, there is 7 pieces that make up the front clip, 9 counting the inner fenders, grille upper and lower support, and upper and lower fender halves. Someone before us had welded all these together and done a lot of “body work “, (bondo). We set it on and stood back to look. On the passenger side the fender opening just cleared the top of the 205x15’s, the front was about 6” off the ground, but when we looked at the driver side it looked like a 4 wheel drive, about 5-6” of wheel clearance. It took me a little bit to figure it out, but they had welded a F3 (3/4 or 1 ton) fender on made for 17-18” wheels. It took a while to find a good F1 left fender but it gave us time to grind out all the bad bondo and clean up the welds. P.S. The truck never got finished. He graduated, did other projects, marriage, kids, and life struggles. Long story short I got the truck a couple years ago, (started all over) re- rebuilt the motor, and pretty much redid everything. Fired the motor a few weeks ago and all that’s left is to paint the bed and rear fenders. Hope to hit the road this summer.
Even back in the sixties, I thought those older trucks looked neat. They look even better these days. Happy that you're building this one. Nice job and thanks for the video.
Good job Dad. Good luck Kenner!

Kenner does and will continue to do a lot on this build. He was grinding, fabricating the brackets and has been doing some welding on it too. But with welding the brackets to the frame it's one of those critical components I wanted to make sure was done right. We have 5 kids, all boys. We had a stock Chevy pickup in MI back in the ‘60s. I learned how to drive a stick on it in my big front yard. Don’t knock the straight 6 engine. We threw cement blocks in the back and drove all over town in a heavy snowstorm that closed down town. It didn’t have enough power to break the tires loose but we could drive anywhere through the snow. Have fun with yours!
Well this whole life thing's a marathon, not a sprint - so a nice break or change is absolutely acceptable. Glad to see you folks back, and working on that gorgeous old beastie!

Chad has all the skills!
Let's get Chad a Bolt and Nut setup 👍
That build reminds me of a build I did for a friend of mine about 20 years ago. He had a 52 Chevy pickup that was sort of hot roded. The original hack had made a mess out of the chassis and the body had lots of rust. He found a 48 5 window cab to replace his rusted out 52. At the same time I did a Camaro front frame clip to get rid of the amc pacer hacked in mess. Any way the build snow balled as most do once started. The truck turned out great. It drove rode and handed so much nicer than the first guy that build it. It had the right stance for that hot rod look. And drove really nice. I always liked that vintage Chevy trucks.
My dad and I belt my first truck. These are memories you all ways remember. Love the chanel, wish you were closer I would definitely bring my project by. God bless
This restoration is going to be nice, cant wait to see all the videos :)

This will be a Nice project !
I have been anxiously waiting for this project to get underway. Kenner I think you have a good eye for the truck; I already like the look of it with the front fenders and the grill sitting the way it does. My Pop's dream truck was a 1950 Ford, but he never told me why, seeing this same era truck makes me think I know why he wanted it so bad. Really excited to see this project progress.
Am I looking forward to seeing Kenners 3d printing of the instrument panel and other parts to make this truck unique? I think it would be an interesting way of making the truck his.

WB from "vacation"! This should be a really nice truck. 52 was a very good year. Same year I was born.
Thank you for always wearing safety glasses! (it's a great example for others!) Some of the other You tube "shops' either do not wear em or they make light of em, they are not a joke! Over 4,000 people a day go to the ER with an eye injury! It's so much easier to slip on eye protection than getting a piece of metal dug out of your eye!..And BTW I'm sure it's an OSHA requirement. If one of your workers get injured you could be held liable.....Have you have ever seen a grinding disc/cutoff wheel explode? They do and it aint pretty.....

Looks like a kool project, gonna be an exceptional build, & ride. Lots of folks are gonna be envious... Its also nice that everyone can dream of a personal memory, not to mention the family involvement, into a (hopefuly) lifetime possession... Looks as tho they are all being lead to personal ethics, that any parent could be proud of, well done! As an old woodbutcher, have found with sazall blades a hammer & block/anvil seems to straighten them out better. Plus I spray them with silicone spray, seems to reduce the friction & heat, but... Its all a learning priocess, lol! Thanx !
It's good to see Kenner in the shop! This is going to be beauty when finished and a sweet ride to see on the roads! Til next time take care and we'll see you on the next...
