I stumbled across your channel only today and what a great couple you are. You made me laugh and giggle all along the way 😄 I had to subscribe and hope you will carry on with your videos. If you need a company to register your motorhome in Spain, I can recommend David from Specialist Vehicles in San Javier. He did the whole job of importing my caravan from the UK to Murcia (change of residency), getting it ready for the inspection and all the paperwork involved. Hope you will enjoy your new life in Spain. It´s a lovely country to live in and to explore by van x

First time watching you. Do you follow Expawers? They live in Andalucia but also do vanlife. They recently got a new van from Germany but to register the van to their address in Spain they had to strip it back to nothing as there are strict rules in Spain for campervans being imported. I don't wish to wee on your strawberries but please check the rules and regulations. Best wishes with your move and new life in Spain. 😊

You would not believe this . Same thing in St Omer this morning , barrier wouldn't lift , wouldn't answer the phone and ferry was at midday . Why ? Did eventually get out and get to the ferry but didn't half sweat .

I hope your motor caravan is one that is straightforward to register in Spain. Apparently there are two types, easy and almost impossible. 🙂 Good luck settling in.

I once went to a conference that was held in a Mercury hotel in a German town. At the end of the second day I was settling up at the front desk when their phone rang. It was someone stuck at the barrier on the way out of the underground car park. I could see them on the CCTV screen and was amused to see that it was one of my friends. He explained that the barrier wouldn’t work and they suggested various things but none of them worked. All the time the queue behind him was getting longer and longer. They then asked him to come up to reception for another ticket. The queue continued to grow. He hurried up, got the new ticket and went back down. Still no luck and one of the receptionists went town to see if they could sort it out. Within seconds the barrier was up and they were away. I checked out then took my time going down to get my car to allow the frustrated queue to disperse. Next time I saw the friend I asked him what the man had had to do. He told me it was simple, he had stopped too far away from the barrier. He had moved 20cm closer and the barrier opened straight away.

We got stuck in an aire and after waiting for over an hour for someone to come and rescue us we took matters into our own hands. With the help of the other guys also waiting to get out we unbolted the barrier, lifted it up, drove through then out it back! 😂 Be good to know where you stored your things as we are about to put our stuff in storage (including my commissioning scroll) and go full time. No, we are near Bristol and are planning on using a combination of long term and short term storage. The long term will be in wooden crates in a warehouse so fingers crossed. I can’t believe how expensive storage is. That’s the business to be in! Sorry your stuff was ruined, it must be heartbreaking 😢

@rachelbrastock5454 ah ok, I have used storage in Yeovil a few years ago that was excellent, really good containers and a fair price, they were called Somerset Storage, my stuff was in perfect condition after storing for a year a few years back 🥰

Keep on laughing, your very cheerful attitude is really good and the first part of this video made me laugh so much,are you going for residency or just doing the 90 days there.?I've not been back to Spain since covid started and everybody had to leave, I used to do the 6 months winter time there and the 6 months summer time back here in the UK. Yes we will be here permanently, we aren't going the NLV route as Julia has an Irish passport, so just going through residency now 🤩🥰

I hope you don’t mind me asking but we wanting to move to Spain in 18 months and I’m curios to know why it’s better for you to move over using the NLV option rather than with your European passport? I’m looking forward to watching your new life. X

@anewlifeinthevan And then there were the Italian Toll booths. Got to one, large metal box talking Italian at us, no obvious slots, just a big red button. Big queue of Italian drivers behind us who are, of course, renowned for their patience (not). Queue gets longer, horns get louder, the Box continues to talk Italian, we look in vain for a green button (because you only push the red button in an emergency, surely?) . . . . Time passes and we eventually bite the bullet and push the red button. Barrier goes up, box says 'bonjorno' and we continue on our merry way, lesson learned!

Like watching your vlogs we’ve been looking at Spain to move permanently but we’re put off by inheritance tax . Do you know how much it is there were were just looking at a place in murcia at the it’s the Isle of Man

Anyway , congratulations on doing what many of us only dream about 🍾🏠🇪🇸 Although saying that, we are thinking about doing something similar - need advice. Wonder what you’re doing now on this rainy British day - probably in your pool with your toads 😂 We will be in Spain backend of November and for December and would love to meet up with you both at some point 🤝 Keep vlogging please - we miss you when you don’t. Unfortunately not, but the storage owner has given us an amount that has helped, not covered it, but helped. We would be very careful if we ever used storage again though...! 🥰

What scream you two are. Word of warning, Spain do not register Right hand drive commercial vehicles. Campers are in the same class in the country. Paperwork in Spain is a bloody nightmare. Running out of fuel in Spain is a finable offence. Not so much as running out, but all the actions you may take afterwards. In Spain the breakdown coverage is included with insurance. So they will be able to deal with getting you fuelled up. What visa have you got? How long did it take?

@@anewlifeinthevan I can’t imagine being out there without Aircon that does seem an essential. I do watch these places place in the Sun and I think these house is all Glass front might look nice but I think they get very hot by the look of your house very Spanish quite cool. How’s the pool going? Is he keeping it under control? Are used to sell hot tubs and tried to help people that had to keep it clean And check the water it is so important to check the water in hot tubs

Hi there we are thinking about the same thing ourselves somewhere on the south coast of France or possibly Spain. Spain is cheaper we have Motorhome our self we are heading down to Spain in two weeks should be fun. I hope you enjoy yourself over there is this going to be your full-time homeI think Spanish where of life is cheaper than the way of life and definitely warmer all the best colin and Jane
