They would need to do the whole body though, because it'd be really weird to have a normal human head on that body. Or maybe not? Weird is certainly an option worth considering.

They could possibly do it by acting out Gollum's parts infront of a greenscreen, add that footage over the top, then run it through deep fake software to add Andy's on. It'd be a crazy amount of work though, even for only a few shots.

Thought: Adam Savage has enjoyed being so many characters from movies... what about "deep faking" him into the roles he's mimicked at various times? (Mostly at Comic-Con) (these include: Judge Dredd, Chewbacca, A Ring-Wraith, No Face, Admiral Ackbar, Alien, Rocketeer, Storm Trooper, Indiana Jones, Jamie, Joker, Jack Sparrow, and more.) As always, thank you so very much for the video.

Although I agree, I think it’s because the average audience doesn’t know what to look for when it comes to cgi artistry. The aim of most paintings are to be realistic, and well, advanced technology can do that for us perfectly with ‘computer generated imagery’. The real artistic value comes in modeling, animating, and rotoscoping but that may not be realized since paintings have none of those characteristics.

CGI is the short term for Computer-generated imagery... but as Daniel Knight said, there are other terms for the artists and their work. Something can be CGI in the same way Mona Lisa is an oil painting. It just describes the elements used in the creative process.

@@navis_6383 It's just that these Sunday videos seem to follow the same formula week after week. I preferred the older videos where episodes were more unique, with unique challenges and VFX techniques. These videos just seem scripted to a certain extent.

Thank you for this video. I gotta admit I've never seen what the Voldemort actor actually looks like in person. Such a difference and it's not even the nose. I'm absolutely blown away that someone so kind-looking in real life can become so effective as a movie villain. And of course, thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill with VFX techniques. Watching you work your magic is... Well... Magical. Fantastic skill! I love how you always take a thing and always seem to know what to do to achieve the effect you're looking for. Incredible to watch.

It's cool to see you at CC taking those type of sponsor that rather help people out there than just earning you lots of cash. Keep it up and get well soon Dean.
