If you read the parable about the prodigal son and how the father saw him coming back from far down the road (defeated, repentant & , forlorn,) and the father took off running to meet his son and embrace him with joy! And that's in the Bible for a reason. To tell us that The Father is like that.... He will come back for us when we want it. And he never leaves us, we leave him.

As an ex addict you have no idea how much this means to someone. One of the reasons people give up is because theres nobody around to help them so you just think nobody cares and its alot easier to just give up. This guy is amazing.

as another ex addict please don't give up on these people no matter how many times they mess up, burn a bridge or waste an opportunity. I probably screwed up 100 times and hurt/disappointed 100 people before i was able to get where I am today.

It’s like the show ‘Intervention’ The people aren’t ready to get clean because they are given ultimatums and they aren’t ready to stop while still in full blown addiction. I was addicted to prescription pills like him, for 10 years. Went to treatment 4 different times in 4 different places. It wasn’t until I was ready to get the right help that I did. But treatment isn’t enough. Every single person who is an addict NEEDS psychotherapy; DBT And CBT: dialectical behavioural therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy are both needed in order to overcome any addiction because the ROOT is ALWAYS Mental Illness!* 💯

@Hillary B TV Hilary, with alittle over 10 years experience with this myself im sure there is a wholle lot we agree on! lol i hope you are healthy, continue to stay clean and are enjoying a life of sobriety, it is not at all easy thats for sure! but that said i dont believe it is as simple as what you have written either. In my experience, the ONLY reason one comes to the decision to ship off to rehab or some program, leaving family, friends, children, their whole life behind for an extended period of time to get clean and get some momentum for leading a better life once they leave, is specifically because one is ready.. the only time that is not the case is when someone is forced into it with an ultimatum or legally and was not able to make the decision on their own. Its not about being ready for the "right" help because frankly there is no "right" help, if only it was as simple as just a one size fits all type of fix and if it was i dont believe this worldwide epidemic of addiction currently would be nearly as bad as it is! Also at that point in a persons addiction how is anyone to possibly know what the right help is, let alone knowing how to pinpoint specifically what the right help for them personally might be? reguardless i HIGHLY disagree with your opinion that an addict "NEEDS" DBT &CBT.. i have no clue why you would think this is neccesary for everyone, perhaps thats just what you were recogmended to do to continue your recovery? These treatments may have worked for you, and if thats the case i am very happy they did! but cmon.. not only is saying that false, and in no way constructive in helping anyone thats caught in addiction reading this but worse those statements could quite easily be dangerous in causing someone thinking about getting help to decide against doing so.. its hard enough to admit to yourself that yousimply have a problem and to have all this crap they have probably never heard of and then read that they all of a sudden on top of that have to admit to themselves that they have a mental illness cause thats the "ONLY" thing that could have led to their addiction? No.. sorry but thats absolute bulls**t, some people it may be the case of course but theres a huge number of things that could be the root cause for addiction, for example being excluded from ones community/isolation can easily do it, many studies on that, and often trauma is the reason, even if its so early in life it cant be remembered or the brain has pushed the memory aside in an attempt to protect from the experience.. which certainly are not mental illnesses. Typically in a healthy community these issues alone would not lead to addiction and even more surprisingly living in a healthy "normal" community actually drastically decreases the chance of addiction for even addiction prone people. but i guess living in a healthy cummunity with healthy relationships and interactions are not as easy to come by noowadays :/ unfortunately. good luck and wish you the best, fr just please be careful.. its easy for us all to want to help and in doing so our attempts only cause the opposite, especially with something as sensitive and mistreated as the topic of addiction is!

@@Alexander-mk4qf actually its the opposite, studies show that if you put addicts in a positive environment they want to stop using. The addiction is usually caused by bad environments, being treated badly, depression... a bunch of different issues. Drugs are an escape from a bigger issue in their lives and they need to fix that issue otherwise living without drugs is hell for them, and they need the drugs to escape reality because reality is hell for them.

I was a heroin addict from 1971 to 1983. I got clean, worked at the same job for 23 years, had a beautiful daughter, own my home and truck. I say all this only to highlight that he can get clean and have a future. But, he has to do it for himself. I was tired of the life and just decided to be done with it. I wanted to be clean, and I pray he wants it too. Good luck to them, I hope he gets clean.

Please let us know how he's continuing his life after this, whether he's really kept his word. Wishing him change his life as promised. God bless

@AM .. yes, give them hook not just fish. So they can survive . Nobody can count on anybody his whole life, everybody has to stand on their own. I believe they themselves eager to stand on their own feet, people get confuse what to do when nobody want to hire them, especially when money is running out. Not everybody has a business mindset either, even they have , there is impossible to start business without money . That is why money is a 'crucial item' in human's life.

Getting clean is hard, but if he's serious about it and he's getting the right help, he can do it. It took me 20 years, but I did it. This video is tearing my heart in two. I really hope this works out.

justin abraham addiction is a bitch and it is so easy to stay in active addiction than it is to get clean. It may not make sense to you and that is ok, but as one in recovery like myself I completely understand the struggle, and am just happy they can say they are clean now

A lot of these people are addicts, it’s so important he is trying to get them out of that hell. Maybe it will help, maybe not, but at least he is trying.

If anyone knows about addiction its the hardest thing to fight people have no idea what its like iv been clean for 9 years and I still fight the crave to go back to drugs but as iv learnt in time it gets easier to fight it but the fight is never resolved . I hope this msg helps people understand

Sadly, I think it’s highly unlikely the man went to rehab. That money is like them winning the lottery, especially if they are addicted to a strong substance. It’s one of the hardest things to do for people in privileged positions, so imagine how difficult it is for a homeless person in a developing country. The escape provided by the opiate is 100x more appealing than going to sleep in the street and then expecting to go to rehab in the coming days when your body is going through physical withdrawal symptoms.

It’s public information that Only a small percentage of people addicted to a highly addictive drug will actually seek help. And it’s also public information that about 65% will relapse after successfully completing a program for their addiction. An addict will cry you a river, promise you the world, tell you whatever you want to hear. As long as they see an opportunity for you to pay for their next fix. After you give them money they will sincerely thank you and promise you they will better their lives. Some might even really mean it at that moment. The harsh truth is that as soon as withdrawal kicks in the withdrawal symptoms will be so unbearable, that when that point is reached NOTHING and NOBODY matters, except getting a fix. Statistically S W is spot on with his comment. Of course there can always be that rare exception when looking at individual cases. And yes I do hope this person is one of them.

Tears are pouring out of my eyes My dear brother died of a opiod and alcohol overdose I had to make the decision to take him off life support doctors said they were barely keeping his organs alive I could tell in his eyes he was gone He was a addict since his teen years Shortly after his death my Father and Mother both died They were in poor health but I am convinced they died of a broken heart from losing their son. I am grieving so terribly for all of them If it were not for my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ I would not be here anymore Both my daughters are recovered addicts my 38 year old daughter has a pacemaker because of drug damage to her heart Drug addiction destroys lives and families I am so grateful my daughters are clean and alive and are thriving now I pray for all addicts Life without addiction is so much better!

That man is defeated, and to have a woman that strong with him? If only I had a woman like that in my life. She is a asteroid of strength.

Erm. A lot of times the poor and homeless turn into junkies out of hopelessness and desperation which makes it very hard for them to get away from it even after they get money or a chance to change their financial situations.
