What are some traditional wedding customs you have to follow in your religion?

Noticed an error: 三梳子孙满堂
As a Malay, this is so interesting to learn!!
honestly, just taobao. The umbrella costs close to SGD 40 bucks? It’s only $10 (SGD) on taobao with shipping.
just give me a wedding during sunset on the beach with a simple dress and me a linen pants n shirt.... have a luau party/bbq/music with fire spinners n alcohol and have a 20 minute firework celebration less stress prolly cheaper and sounds more fun!
I feel like I'm playing spot the Michelle on every new smart local content nowadays XD
Very interesting, it's nice to hear about this Though im far from this step
What an expensive hassle 😱 I would highly recommend registering your marriage at ROM and going for a lunch celebration with just the in-laws and immediate family members . You can’t even begin to imagine how much stress and strife you will have avoided if you go this route . The money saved can go towards your new home and honeymoon .

@@cheesedoufu It's because I went through all these traditional expectations in 1988 . We wanted to participate in a ' Mass Wedding ' to lessen our stress and money burden as we just received our new HDB flat .Unfortunately we were the first to get married on both sides of the families ☹️ Therefore pressured by both sets of parents , we caved . Worse of all , my husband and I had to pay for EVERYTHING ! And yet all the wedding angpows were pocketed by our parents . They didn't contribute a single cent and the only thing we received was the tea ceremony angpows . We started our married life with no more money in bank but luckily no debt as we didn't renovate our new flat and couldn't afford to go for our honeymoon 😿 My new home was literally empty and we slept on a mattress on the floor . Now I have 3 children and I tell them to do as they please , as long as they are legally married ok liao . Parents should not pressure or force their children to follow their ways , unless they are willing to pay 100% everything .

This shop earn the money of all the local youngsters earn until DONT RECOGNISE HOME. (Hokkien slang). If can skip, just skip la. Waste time waste money and stressful. Moral values more important than such customary beliefs. Do for others see only.

i think its “they’re going to start crying” 😂
The couple starts the marriage poor ..then they start quarreling over money matter.. and they have divorce for those who are not resilient. Im married for 15 years.. We didn't do 过大礼. We only do a simple village wedding in the hometown that my wife is from. We keep the spending to a minimal. 15 years down the road- we have two kids and are managing parenting life. But we are more or less happy. Honestly, five years down the road, no one other than your parents or best friends will remember your wedding. My advice to the youngs is Just do an affordable one.

You don't do, doesn't mean other people have to follow you. Doing 过大礼 is a personal option and need not be expensive. Just be happy for them.
