    Kodiak has the 5W30 Synthetic Motor oil only sticker on the T-case. Aren’t the T-Cases rated for GM’s “special” all trak fluid...which appears to be transmission fluid? Can you ellaborate why he used motor oil vs trans case fluid?

    ATF is basically a zero weight oil. your will get very hot to the point you cant touch it with out getting burnt. years ago we started using 5w30 full synthetic motor oil . you will have a 5 weight cold and a 30 weight warm. much better protection on bearings and components plus being synthetic it wont foam under load (in 4wd) like no synthetic oils.

    Its not rare at all, its a simple matter of what people are willing to pay for. If you want the attention to detail you need to offer fair trade for the persons time, amd most would rather have the lower price so thats what shops give them. That doesnt mean those same shops can't do a top notch job if you tell them what you want and, just don't expect it at the advertised bargain price.

  • @Turner2211

    @MS-es9hm

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Turner2211 Yes profit is primary driver for many shops; but there's also the quality factor of the tech/owner of that shop. Some techs may just not know or try to know enough to build the best of the best no matter what they may charge. Mark clearly kept digging/learning until he was completely satisfied with the end product that would represent his brand. Many techs would just look at the factory set up, determine it was bad engineering and then tell the customer to "expect" sub par performance or that it had to be rebuilt more often because of bad design components. I understand what Jay is saying in that you can go to a shop and ask for the discount build and you might be able to ask for the primo build. But will that shops' primo build be as good as Marks? Perhaps/perhaps not..... With videos like this we get to see a quality build and we can choose to use Mark or at least go to our own local shops with eyes wide open and expectations where they should be. :)

You introduced a former Marine out in California running a fab shop. Are you looking to introduce any of his products into the build ? Cool thing about this Josh..excuse me .. Thoughts? Thanks much

    Why 5/30? Is there any particular reason he doesn’t recommend autotrak? Does mark use different components that don’t do well with autotrak or atf? Just wondering if that’s specific to his builds or if that’s a general consensus for all these cases

    The Duramax is the biggest piece of junk when it comes to a diesel motor on the market and I can't believe Chevy went to them

    I totally disagree. Switching from the 6.5L to the 6.6L was the best thing they did. I only wish they would have went straight axle like ford and dodge

    @@garyroach3479 No need to be sorry about being a troll, we know you can't help yourself. No one gives a shit about your duramax experience. Some how you feel the need to say something is a piece of junk based on your own opinion. So you're one of a small fraction of vehicle owners who has issues with something 🤷🏼‍♂️, so you feel the need to throw out a blanket statement....cool. That by definition is a troll.

    Does mark suggest adding 3 quarts of 5w30 thru the speed sensor. Thats how I do mine. I see he suggest the same oil. Just wondering if he suggest using fill plug method or sensor method. Thanks
