    I think you made alot of really good points.. I have shown the game to a good friend of mine who played alot of games, including alot of beta testing, and it’s alot of the same feedback he gave… there needs to be a better “hook” with a more clear path of progression and rewards as you go along. Regions need a bit more reason to visit those special places (like the crystal cave in crimson)… maybe add “loot boxes” or higher spawn rates to those places…. There are alot that can still be done, but the game is in a good place and it will be exciting to see it being launched. (Agree with you on the shards as well, feels bad enough to miss a chance to catch that rare T5, but then your top shard also breaks)

    These are really good points. I would have liked to see rare illuvials spawn in specific places sometimes. Also the progression system is pretty meh, but it has been improved every beta, so it should get better thankfully

    really good video and critiques my dude, big respect to all creators who are willing to be honest and direct with web3 gaming studios - ideally we just want a fun video game, I think the whole connection to real world assets/value/currency element is the 2nd priority for all end users - we want fun games with the added possibility for digital asset ownership as well as transacting in and out of digital currencies

    Great video as always! I think it’s missing the story (I know it’s coming as I see in the trailer) but without the story it’s just looks like the same grind. What I really miss is each land tier needs to be a little different to make it fresh and feel like your progressing.

    All great suggestions. I would love it if some of the illuvials in the overworld stopped and fought you. In a game of luck and skill, the best ones are hard to beat...but they all run away and I think that could be improved

    Excellent points all around. The only one I personally disagree with is the XP gain rate - the game definitely needs some grind; but as you very well noted, that grind needs to be accompanied with a consistent sense of advancement. Every one of your comments is completely on point. I really hope the team can consider your concerns to improve this game - the potential here is huge! YUGE!

    Combat with ur character like utilizing swords and shivs and possibly some other cool weapons would be sick more dangers if you die you lose your loot maybe even your gear breaks and illuvials fighting back. Or unwanted dangerous boss encounters that could pop up if defeated the boss maybe opens an area where rare ore maybe a master shard rock could lay or rare illuvials could be hiding and maybe add illuvials so rare that if caught may have some ilv tokens or some ilv attatched like .1-1 ilv very very rare or some could have cosmetics attatched to it that could be traded more insentive too explore nooks and crannys and climbing peaks ect.. and it would be cool if maps had randomized versions of each map where it is not the same each time i would also add better looking gear for your character even if its just cosmetic it would be cool if we could craft cool ass sets of gear

    Thought about the level system quite a lot because it really feels kinda unimportant. I think the level requirement to fuse a stage 3 Illuvial is pretty much perfect because you need only 6 stage 2 runs with 9 fights each to get the xp for one stage 3 fusion. It just feels pretty slow because we divide this xp on 7-8 Illuvials and we don't get a level-up screen after each battle. One more point is that the power up an Illuvial gets by leveling up is just too low. I can remember that I needed to grind my pokemon up quite a bit to beat the top 4 in pokemon blue but here I can beat a stage 3 encounter with level 1 Illuvials (tried that yesterday with a level average of 1.8). Also a mechanic that pushes users in the direction of not only hunting but also leveling their Illuvials would help. Aside from that I pretty agree much on your points with the exception that I kinda like the grind already :)

    to be honest, you just need cities with vendors where you can buy your fuel from the marketplace. You need to see other people walking around, you need to interact. Just make more guild wars/ world of warcraft like cities. And make content and or places that are only accessible for high level gamers with a certain level/ rank etc..

    LIKE THE VIDEO. cant say i agree through, the grind needs to be there for the hardcore players, im liking the pace so far. we will see when i have a couple hundred hours, but so far so good

    Since this we have had lots of improvements that make the grind less silly. For example the drone equipment. It's in a much better state now and I agree with you too

    Gathering and hunting will be fine with additional mechanics. My gripe is the hub. I would very much like it if it was bustling with activity, npcs and other players. Also that it was integrated with the other games. Like Zero, having some representation of your plot in the overworld and perhaps even the ability to gather ready resources. Just to make it feel more seamless. It's a bit dead and disconnected. Make it feel more like the universe it is.

    I agree, i have that feeling aswell, that it is not really a game. Most games that are released as early access, release a game with lack of mechanics, or content. This however seems backwards, they release a world they have built, but the game is not there yet. I love the movement mechanics we got now with jumping/gliding ans so on, but i still feel that there is a reason they added the teleporting system, becaus after you have mastered the movement mechanics, its just a slow slow grind to do the things you need to do in a region. And there is no feel of progression, the only progress you can see is that in your inventory your number of illuvials are expanding, but that is the only interaction you have with your illuvials, scrolling your inventory, and that is something that i hope will change in the coming two years. Because if you think about that, why are we collecting them? so much work have been put into minting what you need to be able to play arena . And even if you add skins and sush, it still is you alone and no one is going to see you, even if they add multiplayer in sanctum mesa, it is just that. the only reason to be in sanctum mesa is to teleport from the forge to the obelisk.

    Lots of multiplayer is coming, Sanctum Mesa, Arena, other competitive games. There will be plenty of showing off to others. But I agree they have focused on the world first and are now building a game inside it. I don't mind this strategy personally, the IP is what holds retention.

    The mosquitos are good for immersion but get annoying. Make a substance you can apply to repel the number of mophopods or control them to help slow down or fight a difficult illuvial... Each type of illuvial should act based on its character IE: the Lynxes might fight back and call out for the pack to join. The buffalos should stand their ground and be stubborn but may damage your armor. Archies should be slow but take more hits and can crawl through small caves you cant so you have to get them in the open, Elk are fast, nimble and can jump so you will need good traversal skills or have something to lure them out away from trees. - IE: You need to act like a hunter. Day & Night Cycle, Weather Cycle, and Easter Eggs based on Calendar / Seasons will keep it fresh over years of play. Scenery with seasonal changes especially from the peaks and from the deep caverns give Illuvium a big enough canvas to achieve greatness. It needs an occasional wow moment that comes from discovery secrets / lore, as well as the occasional reasons to laugh out loud, and quiet moments of joy. That's the sauce that makes a legendary game people talk about for decades.

    I'd love for fusing to essentially be a complete reroll. It'l allow for lower stat illuvials to find value and higher stat lower stage ones will not be fusion fodder. It will also make people way more incentivised to fuse.

    I've put in 69 hours so far in the overworld, and I've gotten bored with it. The constant need to grind is tiresome, and when I finally reach Stage 3, the capture rate is frustrating. I have a shard that's supposed to catch T4 Illuvials, but my capture rate is only 36%, which doesn’t seem right for a T4 shard. Additionally, constantly switching between guns to capture and mine feels pointless. There should be consequences for dying, such as losing energy points or what you've obtained, but currently, there are none. The marketplace is also incredibly frustrating, with the amount of clicking required to purchase anything being ridiculous.

    Overworld kinda sucks but it's just a means to an end - getting a team together to compete in Arena. I'm enjoying Arena, getting more competitive, although there a couple of template teams people are using that are really hard to overcome... so back to the Overworld.

    I think a "recycle" system would be nice, where if you have lets say 10 of one particular stage 1 illuvial, you can "recycle" one of them to give a base amount of xp to another one, and more xp based on the "recycled" illuvials xp. Or even something like an illuvial sparring pit where you can have the highest level of 1 particular illuvial "train" your others, at a cost of some fuel, or materials like plants which could act as a food source. I don't think I can agree with the idea of requiring more runs, because while it would be great for fuel sellers/ land owners (I am one), it would just add too much of a cost of entry to compete at the current stage run prices. I would be more inclined to go with this however if the prices were reduced per stage. Then as far as shards go. I think a tier 0 should have a 50% chance to catch a tier 0 stage 1, and then lose 10% per stage. And if someone tries to use a tier 1 shard to capture a tier 0, it starts at 100% for stage 1 and then lose 10% per stage. Do this for each tier of shards, all the way up to tier 5, and then a master shard is 100% regardless. That's how I would like to see it. I can currently use a Tier 3 shard on a Tier 1 stage 3 and still have a very small chance of catching it, that is very odd to me.

    The shards desperately need tinkering. As for the recycle system I believe the team has seen similar ideas and don't mind it. Not sure on their plans.

    Scoriox ive had a horrible time with FPS and lag in the game, even at the lowest graphics settings. I have a rtx 3070 for gpu, and my other specs should be able to handle it without issue. Have you heard of others having issues with lag? It was so bad for me i couldnt even hunt illuvials as they were skipping around

    I have an RTX 3070 in a laptop and just tested it. Seems to run fine at 1080p & 1440p when plugged into mains power and fed with a 200W power brick. Specs: (2021 ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503) AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS CPU, 16GB DDR-4 Memory, RTX 3070, Windows 10 revision 22H2.

    I haven’t been able to pay the latest beta, I’m in full withdrawals. The specs required for latest open beta must have increased coz my M1 MacBook Pro is only 16gb, it needs 32gb!! I was so addicted, 2 weeks ago I was playing 40+ hrs a week now I can’t earn any airdrop points until I buy a new computer.

    @@Scoriox no its fine until i click on overworld, then when it loads it crashes. Don't know why it changed b/w closed PB4 and then the open beta but it seems to have. The PB4 i was playing 40hrs + /wk by the final week - once i got the hang of the controls and bought a mouse with buttons (my shiny apple mouse was impossible to aim then shoot).

    @@Scoriox Another great idea is what if theres another currency where its not tradable and you can only get in by playing the game. This currency will be used to upgrade the Ranger in the overworld ONLY (doesn't affect autobattler) it can buy other weapons (shotgun. lasers, bazooka, skills strees...). And with that "new currency you can also buy accesories that will generate random stats (necklace, belt, rings that has random stats) That stats will only affect the ranger in the overworld again. It can give crit rate, crit dmg, attack%, atk, HP%, HP, def%, def, energy recharge for the weapons. (Most game when you finish it the only endgame is farming the perfect stats) They need to make the stage 3 roaming in Map larger, its okay if its more tankier but they need to increase the time before it get away. I also hate the bugs in the overworld, it sucks to die with it. It would be better to die to a GIANT LEVIATHANS that roams in the map, if you get near it will chase you. If Its in the area thats has many farmable things. you need to go to other place and wait for it to leave. and when your ranger is strong enough in the overworld with the accesories it can kill the leaviathan xD and gives points they also need tracking device (shoot illuvial with tracker to easily find it) and you can choose a pet that will help you kill illuvials in the overworld xD

    I've tried a lot of other crypto games this year and they all pretty much suck...I was concerned ILV lost early mover advantage, but they are still in good shape as long as they come out before August. Now we have to see the economics, and weave in zero.

    I got concerned we lost first mover as well. Then I played Shrapnels beta and thought, shit they are all smoke and mirrors. Sure they are building but Illuvium is still well and truly 2+ years ahead.

    imo auto battlers are one of the worst things to happen to gaming - palworld was a big success because it innovated on the pokemon method - I think an auto battler in this current state is going in the opposite direction to palworld - it's 2024, surely a team can build a fun gameplay system where you can control a monster and use its interchangeable 4 attacks in realtime... yet this game is the opposite of that, we don't get more control and interaction, we get less... this is what an auto battler is imo... these games could be so much fun - im uber critical of this game, if they don't do it someone else will, and I hope it happens soon

    You'll be pleased to know that on July 25, the autobattler is being replaced with overworld combat, akin to Palworld. But I agree that, there is more to do. Idk if its controlling your illuvial, but the more exciting you make these battles, the better the game becomes.

    I want this game to be successful but i see too many downsides at the moment : not enough illuvium and region not changing enough between runs (makes game boring at some point), no quests or NPC for guidance, XP and sense of progression feels too slow, ... but the biggest thing that im afraid can kill the game is monetization, like how much they will charge for stuff (it feels like it will be too costly to catch later stage illuviuls). In summary to me, illuvium for now wont be the game that will retain traditional gamers in cryptos games just because there are way better traditional games in the same genre that dont cost that much $ to be played..

    I really enjoy the arena fights as an interlude while running in the Overworld. Maybe these should stand in other form like obelisks which can open battle on arena with specific set of Illuvials of each region. It could give some other profits than Illuvials hunting.
