This song is actually depicting Billie conforting this girl and then ending up dating the girl's ex-boyfriend. This is why she poses the question "Did I cross the line". She in essence broke girl code.

So this is about her ex, who is also the ex of one of her friends. You may wonder where “wildflower” comes in. The friend that she talks about owns a company called “wildflower cases”

Every time I hear the part where she says "do you see her in the back of your mind, in my eyes" It hits me sooo hard man

so she is a friend with devon carlson, who is jesse rutherford’s ex, and billie started dating him after, so that’s why she uses lines like “did i cross the line”, “until july(they started their relationship in july)” ,“see her in the back of my mind”, “wonder how she felt”…. also the song is called wildflower, cause that’s the name of devon’s company

Billie helped rlly much with production on this album

If you’re looking for more of her acoustic side, she released a 2-song EP a little while ago, and those are SOOOO worth a listen. Loving your reactions to Billie!

Man, this song is just so hurtful to listen to yet so beutiful. Billie really got everything of in this album, love the way you two pay attention to the little details.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch the LIVE version of "THE GREATEST" from the Stephen Colbert Show. It would be so fun to see you guys watch a live performance from Billie. It is just as great or maybe even better than the studio version, so you won't be missing out on anything. You will not regret it, I promise. Vocally, it's one of her best live performances she's ever done.

She dosent like to tell her audience what the songs mean so they can interpret it to the listeners life. Yet she did hint that she broke "girl code" and she wasn't proud of that, She also was proud of the intro that you picked up on which was a recording of her in the pouring rain entering her entry code to the door of her place in NYC. She said that evening meant a lot so she used the sound effect. xx

Basically Jesse Rutherford (Lead singer of the neighbourhood) and his ex Devon Carlson (owner of WILDFLOWER cases) were in an iconic relationship together for some time. They were both friends with Billie. They broke up and Billie and Jesse got together. And I assume she just couldn’t get passed being with him cause she loved Devon as a friend. therefore she asks if she “crossed the line”

God I seriously can’t wait for you guys to get to the next song on the album. It’s absolutely my favorite, and I hope it’ll be yours too.
