And yes, they do have other acoustic versions of tracks, although it's pretty sporadic as far as I know and it probably happened more in their early days. I'm sure someone else can point you to specific tracks (or the albums where these live versions are from). That is knowledge I don't really have without specifically trying to search for it. I know there is a very emotional one (I think their 2nd or 3rd year live show) with Hana on a cajon.

This is one is really fun one, to me feels a bit like a precursor to Mindset. As for acoustic stuff, they don't really release acoustic songs with their albums, maybe sometimes they throw in an acoustic version on a single release as bonus, but if you only listen to major album releases you won't really get to hear it. But they always play acoustic stuff during their bigger concerts (that are on DVDs and BDs) and on livestreamed shows, so if you want to see more acoustic songs, you'd have to look up videos from those.

Yep, GS with their (semi-) acoustic performances is really something 'different' and special. ✨ For a further comparison, I can only warmly recommend their song 'Alive'. One of their older songs, which was originally sung by Armmy and can be found on the mini album 'Virgin-A'. The acoustic version you will find under the video title 'Alive ~Ganbare! Nippon~ (Delicious Live, Semi-Acoustic, AI Remastered + Lyrics)'. If I remember correctly, the song was written after the devastating earthquake that hit Japan in 2011. I don't think you have to be a prophet to guess that acoustically it has a certain feel, right? 😏 _____________________ _"America invented rock. England improved it. This is my favourite song on the album and I just hate how underplayed it is by them. They haven't played it for years and the same can be said for the other great tracks off the second half of Gold Dash. There's not a single live recording of non-acoustic version. I appreciate the acoustic of course but it's Koga's groove that carries the original for me.

Regarding acoustic versions: They usually have an acoustic corner for all their full live shows. You can find them on most of the live DVDs (usually 2 to 3 songs). Some can be found on yt - they are always fantastic and show that their songs are based on strong melodies, the rest is secondary. Maybe you can do a short series to some of the acoustic live performances (HG or me can provide you with a list) before you get to the next album. btw Clownism is a great song :)

Yes, I was thinking of putting together a semi-acoustic playlist anyway! Although I think the majority of those available on YT would probably be for songs that mat hasn't yet reacted to?

I always forget how much I like 道化ism - I think its because there's no live version of the original song and my listening/watching is wildly skewed towards their live stuff. And agreed that the semi-acoustic works so well because its such a major shift from the original :)

Ok, you inspired me to put together a semi-acoustic playlist! I found there was another already, but had some early ones with not great sound, and missing a few more recent uploads, so I made my own... There are 16 songs on there - I think you've heard 5 originals including this one.
