I used to ride in Windsor Great Park and rode past HRH Prince Philip in his Range Rover a couple of times. I put my hand up to thank the courteous driver and when I looked down, I was on a big horse, I saw who it was waving back and smiling. Cool.

I go riding on wensdays and I love the rides! My horse sniffs my hat and smiles at me 🤣❤️
Both my wife and I had horses and rode as often as possible. However, my wife is the real horse person in the family she can still tell you what a horse is thinking or getting read to do at a glance. She took a few lessons from a woman who had Connemara Ponies. I'll never forget watching her go over five foot fences. Considering she's only 5ft 3in and the pony was about the same it was neat to watch.
I just love all the laughter when you're out on the trails...you had me giggling too!
You ladies are having so much fun - I remember when I used to occasionally go riding - its the best!

Hello! I’m planning on becoming a horse owner myself. I need some advice since I’m Australian, is there any way to keep a horse cool and warm and their behaviours? If you can’t answer then I understand, I know I can watch videos but I wanted some from an experienced equestrian. :]
@feequestrian
3 жыл бұрын
It depends if you want a field kept horse or a stable kept! If you want a field kept (like mine) what I do to keep her warm is mainly rug her up however unless your horse is clipped in the winter, you probably won’t need a rug unless you are competing or showing and want the horse to stay clean. If your horse is cold and field kept, horses have naturally thick coats so when it does tend to get cold they will get their winter coat so you don’t need to worry about them getting cold. Same goes for the stable kept horses! Hope this helps x

The intro is nice
I have a question, I've been a western horse trainer for about 15 years now, since i was very young. I live in the Midwest of the US, a place where a classical saddle is only ever treated like a novelty item at best, but elsewhere in the US lots of people ride classical. I was wondering how many people actually ride western there? I understand western is more for the ruff working horse but do people even use it to work cattle or stuff like that there?
@EmmeEquestrian
3 жыл бұрын
Nobody tends to use horses for cattle or anything like herding we tend to use dogs only. I know 2 people that ride western out of thousands, I’m sure more people do ride western here but it is so rare!
I really want a horse :( I’ve been going to camps and a lot of horses like to be pet by me and I love riding them I’ve been learning how to jump and gallop without a saddle on but I still don’t have a horse..
I used to horse ride as a kid but I was dragged by a horse when I was young, had a riding lesson when I was in my 20’s and I was terrified....so sad
Your horses are so beautiful! How tall are they?

Jools Holland I believe.
I have a couple of questions, since I'm from Germany and I reckon some things are just different here 😅 1. Are you required to wear safety vest? I always see them when I watch hacks from the UK.🤔 2. Why are so many people having those bobbles on their helmets? 😂 I've never seen them in Germany! 3. What's the difference between a canter and a gallop? 🙈 Thanks in advance 😊
@EmmeEquestrian
3 жыл бұрын
1. Not required by law but if you have public liability insurance you might be required to wear one! 2. Just a fun little bobble but of a fashion thing I think 🤣 3. Gallop is faster than canter and it’s all about the gait, canter is 3 gait but gallop is 4 gait! Hope that helped 😁

Who is this Jools Holland that would make these ladies giggle like school girls ?
Have to say with all honesty I totally envy you two! I grew up on a small horse ranch in California. I’ve always wished I had a place such as where you are so enjoying your ride with your friend to ride over open fields . Be able to allow my best Quarter horse friend Blue to run as he pleased free of traffic, people , other suburban hindrances as you & your friend are. Your ponies are both so well behaved and easily managed. My last horse was a beautiful retired Thoroughbred named Nike. He was gorgeous, always in the blue or least placed 3rd in Hunter , Pleasure Classes. But he was an absolutely spooky idiot ! I was honestly afraid to try to ride him outside of the arena. He was an anxious pain even trying to lead him away from the barn. Nike would always pick a “I’m going to spook at this spot today “ every time we passed the imaginary” boogie “ spot while working with my so-called “ trainer” in the arena or even when I rode him on my own. I wasn’t a totally confident, good rider like you are. Had and still have spinal problems so most definitely DID NOT want to fall off. In retrospect, I knew wasn’t the right horse for me....but I’m a sucker for a beautiful horse. Had always dreamed of owning a Thoroughbred. Psycho Biatch Vanessa , so called “ trainer” talked, pushed me to buy Nike. Hugh mistake. Hind site: should’ve stuck with the Quarter Horses I grew up with. Ultimately, Nike had on- going off/on lameness issues but had also developed a breathing problem. I should’ve taken him to University of Davis , Ca veterinary College and had him scoped to try to find the cause of his coughing up a membrane ball and breathing problems. Didn’t have the funds. Wound up giving him to a girl who I thought was my friend. She betrayed me & gave Nike to my Nemesis Vanessa. Stopped by the barn a few months later to see how Nike was doing. Tammy then fully confessed as to what she’d done, how she had deceived and betrayed my trust. The final utter hurt blow was when she told me Nike had started wheezing so badly, fighting for air, Vanessa had to put him down. I’m living with this guilt to my end of days. I follow Horse Rescue Hero’s. So wish I could rescue a horse ...give it a forever home. Alas, I’m too disabled now. I can’t take care of a horse myself and can’t afford board at a stable. As such, I’ve/we’ve rescued 4 abandoned kitties & adopted 3 from the Animal Shelter. I most sincerely hope you & your friends are able to keep your horses as n intricate part of your lives.Trust me, you don’t want to carry the lifetime sorrow & regret of loosing your best 4 legged friend .
Obviously a lot of moisture in the air , causing the high voltage lines to buzz
