We Made a Sprinkler WORK From A Creek FIJI Style!🇫🇯 Vlog_109

There’s no way this should have worked on the first try!🤯 But we’ll take the small wins as they come.
Join us for another day farming in Fiji setting up our new sprinkling system to water/irrigate our new vegetable farm. This is our agriculture project with Maciu Navitilevu AKA: OfficeBoy. More to come on that later. But for now, enjoy our complaining, cheering, and joking with each other as we sweat our faces off on the farm in Fiji.

For the pump to last longer the in take side should always be air-tight; because cavitation is a pumps enemy. It doesn't matter if the output side leaks but it will also affect pump "head", pressure and flow rate.

Very nice. We did the same thing in our farm to start one new block off, later when the plants were producing, we decided to go back to focused watering of each plant with a watering can for a while because the weeds were also enjoying the sprinkler a bit too much. Mulching then because the answer. Love your videos and updates! Very inspiring.

Good initiative! Should install a foot valve with strainer at end of suction hose; this will prevent water from flowing back into the creek whenever the pump's switched off and also keeps the pump primed at all times. And I think you're misunderstanding how pipe diameter, pressure, and velocity (speed) work. A smaller pipe diameter is NOT better for pushing water over a long distance... the pump will work even harder due to the increased resistance. The pressure is actually higher through a larger pipe diameter; this pressure will decrease when the pipe diameter decreases before or at the sprinkler connection resulting in an INCREASE in velocity to maintain the same flow rate (flow rate is constant).

@@pidoxrush7647 No, we have several creeks on our property that are seasonal, meaning they only have running water during the wet season.
