Ah, yes, Cherno's own strand-type game
Hexagons are bestagons! But, for real, it takes a lot of courage to showcase things that aren't ready and do not create the best image for you. I'm glad you keep it real, actually test your own engine by making games, and show hastly made together products over carefully curated demos.
I really liked the procedurally generated hexagon tilemap! It looks really cool.
You should have a detail where the coffee smoke always goes towards the right direction. If you take too long, it's cold, and you need to go back and bring a new one. But, you don't just WASTE cold coffee! You can then use that as some type of push back water explosion grenade.

or drink coffee to make yourself faster. More coffee you drink faster you become but lower points you get.
The game actually has quite the potential! You could add game modes for example "Capture the Coffee" where one team has a red coffee cup and the other team has a blue coffee cup 😄 And maybe later when Hazel supports multiplayer there could be a mode whoever delivers the coffee to the general first wins 😋

Ah so what you're saying is it actually doesnt have potential, because your suggestion is a completely different game
Very cool to do that with your own engine! Maybe you could use a minimum distance between the tents to avoid the game being over too quickly.
Better than Cyberpunk on release.
Random thought: It would be neat if there was a parkour element with procedural scenery on top of the procedural landscape. Like trees and poles and whatnot. A mixture of mirrors edge, matrix-slow mow, and maybe a spiderman/batman grappling hook mechanic. And not prescripted moves, it would be fun to see all of those in a real-time Tarzan type thing

Maybe seeds that are particular interesting could be saved for official time trials, which would provide something for the speed running community. Likewise, difficulty could increase as the player delivers more and more coffee. Each "level" could still be procedurally generated, but with certain constraints, or new landscapes, enemy's, etc...
It looks quite polished, good job!
Game looks good, i tried the moment you released it. Hexagonal world was also cool. Would be nice if there was a game over instead of going back to the coffee tent, as we would see more of the random worlds.
we went for a very conservative idea if a jump and run where you deliver a parcel, but I wish we went with the more weird idea to make a mini game of a birth (delivery) :D there is at least one game that did something similar regarding a birth
I see a lot of potential for that game, it just needs some refinements here and there. Since you already have a hexagon map generator, it's just a hop and a skip away from being a tactical RPG, too. Give it some thought.
Using completely random algorithms is quite dangerous and unpredictable. I think you should have used pseudo random coz that would have made it easier to reach the general. I love the way you implemented the two army problem. I think peter got it from his computer science class 😂😂😂😂❤
Unfortunately it crashes when I open it byt the level generation looks very good, especially the last one!

I played it for a bit, and had 2 issues: -the "controls" menu didn't show text. It zoomed in on the tent, but didn't display the text -There is no way to exit the game The sound is done really well!
I have a few suggestion, first add a surviving time and mobs kill score to track your highest score. second when you throw the coffee to not take damage you will get a few seconds before the coffee start to get empty be it self, and by that add a bar that tracks the amount of coffee in the cup!.

also make the mobs drop tokens that give u some extra power like movement speed or extra ammo or higher jump
Pick up sugar cubes for your cuppa to get more points. Plus points for speed of completion 😂 Maybe the end points are how many 'mg' of caffeine the general gets wheny you deliver him the cup leftovers

ammo drops would be nice. In general, as a gamer, i won't play a game that forces you to restart by doing an action that doesn't drive you to your death. I thnik ammo packs on the ground is a neccessary condition when you include a gun to the game mechanisms or include a dagger or another way to kill a mob (secondary weapon,fists,etc). Nonetheless great attempt considering the limited time. Hazel seems pretty nice especially with object illumination and other engine stuff like collisions and transformations seem to be ok. Good job I saw the livestreams it was very good experience

There is pretty much not a single gameplay mechanic in this game. Just because its made by the cherno doesnt mean its a releasable game

I know this was done in like three days, but it needs some permanent onscreen UI, it’s not really obvious what your supposed to be doing unless it’s explained, that fog is too intense and there is some obvious gameplay problems like not being able to rearm if you spunk all your ammo before meeting an enemy, the number of enemies should be evened out per chunk

when i open the game it's open but doesn't start and give me an error with AMD radeon software and tried to lower the graphics and faced same problem

this new star war game looks cool, dont know why people are complaining about lags.. lol
Please add mouse sensitivity next time, as a high DPI user this was very hard to control. Also the render latency seemed pretty high, >60 ms at 60 FPS without vsync.
cherno, you make games; why some settings go to Ultra? why not normalize everything at high and make the high the ultra for that specific setting?

Same here. The logs are not very helpful either, they just end. Like mid line, so a catastrophic failure without error handling. Guess the last function logged could be the culprit.

the auto aim (right click) does not aim down, directly to the mobs, and/its not a heat seeker gun mode

hey, there is one huge advantage of light-source global illumination (vs camera based lighting), its very linear if you have to do only 1-bounce or no bounces per light, as compared to multiple bounces from camera to objects/lights, yes its the virtual texture light mapping that unreal uses
