Too hard for me to wrap a large tree in burlap and probably why u didn't. I went online to pick more hardy fruit varieties for our area which needed no protection for me living near you. I didn't trust the random varieties that big box stores provide, if I'm going to put the time into growing a good fruit tree then I'll spend an extra $10 to order better varieties from Stark brothers as I did, and glad I did since this record cold year for us didnt cause die off to my trees or needed any protecting. So looking up after this winter

We're in southern Arizona, so we don't have to worry too much about the frost here. We do get frost in the winter (and occasionally snow) in our particular area, but it's mostly over by the time the peach tree blooms. However, there is occasionally a late frost in April, and if our peach trees are flowering at the time, we suffer the same fate. Thankfully we didn't run into that scenario last year nor this year, our peaches are growing nicely. Thanks for the update, and for showing your mistakes. It gives me, as a first-time gardener, much encouragement that it'll all work out in the end.

So I live in a Zone 8b, should I be as concerned as you suggest? I see that Michigan is Zones 4a to 6b and can get into the negative temperatures, for winter whereas in general Zone 8b's lowest temperature is in the teens. It does snow here and it gets cold enough to freeze water outside. So was it the Wind Chill or was it ice on the limbs that gave them frostbite? If it was the ice on the limbs I will have to wrap not only my Peachtree but my grapevine as well.
