I just bought one myself 2007. It was in pretty amazing shape. Saw my Mother-in-laws.....loved hers....bought one like it too! LOL. Great fun in the summer months.

One year later, any update on this car? I hear automatic transmissions are so bad, even once rebuilt, AAMCO wont warrant the job. not even 6 months...?

So far it has been doing well. A cable in the top gave up the ghost but that is about it.

Are this models affected by the vw timing chain failure ????

I would say that at that mileage it would be in need of a rebuild.

Is $6800 good price for 2007 2.5L 5cylinder convertible with 115,000mi. at my dealership

It depends on condition and maintenance records. Nice condition and well maintained. Yes. All scuffed and neglected. No.

I’m going to buy a 2006 convertible today! Looks just like this one for my sister! And it was $6600 with 103k miles!

how is the fuel concumption?

I think it is about 25 mpg. Not as good as you would expect from a small car.

I'm curious how much you paid for the car.

So let’s see, brakes, armrest, and radio? You barely mentioned that rear window, the Beetle’s Achilles heel, or any of the other numerous Beetle gremlins. Geez.

You are right. It wasn't meant to be a hit list of NB issues. I did replace the brakes all the way around. The arm rest is in great shape in this one. The rear window has been siliconed and siliconed some more...
