Dear Patrick and Stuart, I love the color you selected for the walls, it reflects brighter light from the windows, but oh how fresh and clean it looks now. Love the floors, you both did a perfect job on them. You picked out a wonderful sink and I love that it’s white or off white. You are going to be even more inspired to cook!! I'm a professional painter, and it's easier and faster to use the tape when you have all those different heights and angled surfaces. Tape and feel fine about it! And keep up the good work. What an adventure!

Finally, someone using a roller to paint. I binge watch all the renovations château channels and the all use mini foam rollers and a small paint brush to paint walls. Working smart, not harder, good job.

The floor looks amazing! well done! I love the color! that sink is a dream! Love how you set it up so that the dogs could come and go and watch you paint. They seemed to love being able to still be in the room with you. The wall color is so clean and looks good with the wood beams. Good morning Patrick & Stuart, oooo I said when the video opened and I saw those magnificent flowers!! You both looked so smart and with the flowers in the background, it made a beautiful picture!! We have paint here very similar to your kitchen pain, it is thick and luscious and the end result is amazing. It does cost quite a bit but worth every cent. The kitchen floor looks so good, it was a very good tile choice. Cannot wait to see the wall tiles and needless to say the cupboards. The tulips are just too pretty for words. They look magnificent in the garden and vase. You are doing great day by day as you tackle the chateau and stamping your own identity around the rooms. Love the kitchen sink, that is a fine piece of ceramic, wow!! It is so nice to share some of your daily projects I do realise you have to have your private time, so till next time, Friday which is 2 days away. Thank you for sharing your chateaux life with us, it really is very hard work. It is understandable that the places becomes neglectful as the more senior people just do not have the finances to update the buildings. All challenges work together for the good. Au revoir.... :)

The sink is quality personified and I must say that I have to start to giggle in your intro and good humour stay with me whole video, that is irreplaceable in these times.😊

Oh that warm white is beautiful, I'm getting a test pot of "slaked lime", it's so hard to choose a good warm white that works in old buildings from tiny paper squares! The floor is beautiful and I LOVE the sink! Don't fuss to much over the faucet, that's easy to change at any time, but a sink is a big deal. I love that there's one tiny one for emptying out fatty or startchy cooking water, grease etc without messing up the entire sink (old kitchens from the turn of the last century always had one of those with a tiny faucet) and then two separate sinks! I don't know why people buy the single ones, you can't effectively wash up without a constant running faucent without two basins. One for soap and hot water scrubbing, the other for rinsing-water (and added cap of vinager if rinsing crystal) using the PLUGS! We have to be conscious of our water supply and France is already having problems due to lack of rain. My old sink is just stainless steel but two basins with a good tall enough arched faucet to fit my biggest pots under easily. It's a modern one as I have a dishwasher and need one compatible w that (waterlock) and a single grip temp regulator/ pull bc sometimes seconds count in kitchen action. It's amazing what a huge difference a good coat of paint does isn't it? Your kitchen is going to be AMAZING, and it's probably the most important room because we spend so much time there cooking, eating, feeding the dogs, going in and out, being creative and social and nomatter how fine a dining room is, guests always gravitate towards the kitchen, its a place we all feel comfortable in and relaxed in anyones house. You guys are such hard workers, I really felt that knee pain! 😬 Tulips are DREAMY omg I'm literally looking out at droves of snow against an unforgiving charcoal night sky through my kitchen window, we wont be seeing tulips here for some time (understatement). I'm so not cut out for these loooong winters and short summers.... 🥺 I was thinking, you guys should be looking into getting a few chickens (or hens rather) for Easter! It's really nice to have fresh eggs, and just 3 or 4 hens goes a long way. If you socialize them they are very pleasant animals and quite low maintenance. My brother used to have a few who would sit in your lap and coo on a summer day, come running for grated cheese ends, laid their eggs in the coup but insisted on sleeping in the lilacs, truly a sight to behold! 😂 Of course there's the dogs, they'd need to not stress them out. Stressed hens don't lay eggs. Anyway, great to see the progress! Be well and be kind to knees and backs please. 💕💪🌷🌷🌷

The kitchen looks fabulous…what a difference! I am happy you mentioned that you had sealed the grouting!🎉 something we learnt the hard way…when we did out kitchen…it was a challenge to remove the stains! Patrick, when cleaning the tiles after applying the grout, think about sponging them at an oblique angle to the grout line so as the not wash out the grout. Nicely done, gentlemen! Love the tiles - stunning. They’ll outlast the chateau, I’d wager!! How handy to be able to paint with both hands.😊

The floor tiles are gorgeous guys! That sink is no slouch either. The wall colour is lovely. Bright but warm too. Yes! Get superwoman Florence on the job! You should have her on retainer!

You two make me smile so much! I think I have sink envy. That thing is phenomenal, however, I’m so short or would I like to call, “fun” size I’d never be able to reach the back little sink 😂. The floor came out glorious. Add I’ve seen little green paint advertised numerous times on different KZread channels in France and I’m really jealous cause I don’t think we have anything like that here. The kitchen is going to be absolutely gorgeous. I was a little hesitant on the white until you explained it that it’s really not that white. So I’m happy you don’t have to wear sunglasses first thing in the morning to come down to breakfast in the kitchen.😂😂😂😂. The flowers behind you are I thought were delivered from the florist. My granny was so 4’8….. so I’d have had to make her a stool to reach. 😊 The floor is so nice. Lovely to walk on. I need to inquire about Little Greene. I don't wear them as I don't go anywhere except the doctor or grocery store. One day I will dress up and go out. It is good for the soul. Patrick, you are handsome too. I don't want to leave you out. Paint in the kitchen looks fantastic. I was almost starting to think that paint rollers were illegal in France since all the chateau channels seem to only use brushes no matter how big the space being painted! 😂

Hi Patrick and Stuart you did a great jog with the floor tiles yes it looks lovely and it’s got a bit of texture to the which will fit right in with the age of the chateau glad to see that you used knee pads they are such a godsend for the knees good colour for the walls love the idea for the sink so practical just what you need let’s hope it’s straight forward to fix in and you have all of the parts to it it’s good that you both can do these jobs it saves a lot of money the chateau has a lot of character and charm and you are certainly bringing the best out in it so keep up the good work it’s so nice to see people taking care of these old chateau’s

Thank you very much. We love the new/old floor. It is close to what was here. Knee pads are truly amazing 🥰💕. The wall colour and the sink were big choices and we are truly happy with what we got. We hope that we can easily put the drains together. Looks difficult but I park it’s easy. 😊. We couldn’t have bought a chateau if we couldn’t do most jobs. So we are lucky. I’ve seen a lot of tiles being laid this week😉 My knees are hurting for you. (I did some of it in the ‘80’s with not such sophisticated equipment.) You should have called me about the sink. Trust me, we’ve had every sink possible here in CT. The best one has been the farm sink we have now. You can fit any pan, tray or serving bowl in it. The best thing ever.

Painting tip :- Before removing the tape. Run a sharp knife along the edge of the tape where the experts would cut in. Then remove masking tape. This gives a cleaner line and reduces the bleeding paint coming away.😊 I'm a very sloppy painter and can not decorate without miles of low tack tape 😅 I think your paint job is super. You both have beaten Ash in todays tiling vlogs 😂🎉

Well lads, you certainly work well together great teamwork . You both appear very experienced in every job that you tackle. I guess you have done a few renovations in your time. The floor is just beautiful and I love the colour of the walls. I loved your choice of music throughout the video it was very apt for the project you were doing. Wow that is a beautiful sink, I think it needs a hose type faucet so as you can stretch it over all the sinks for rinsing either food or dishes. You must be very proud of all the work you have put into this project, I’m really excited to see the finished result. Xx🇨🇮

Thank you. It is actually called Slacked Lime and is a wool white tone. It looks so dramatic because of the tired and dirty old paint. Sitting in the room right now, it feels airy and light. Hugs. 😊

Well, you had me smiling again, this time with the unveiling of your sink! It's a beauty! Good luck with the build of the cupboards! The kitchen floor is gorgeous and you did a fantastic job! Sorry you had to suffer from "chafing" wearing the much needed knee pads...why did that make me laugh?? Thick creamy paint is the way to go! I had that type for my home and that was done 9 years ago, it still looks like new and that was inside and outside! Your kitchen walls look fantastic and especially the fireplace!!! Yes COZY!!! Oh my gosh, those tulips are gorgeous! You have a busy mind Patrick, you're not digressing...I have the same condition!

Huge task to paint and tape that kitchen AND laying the tile floor - you’re masters of many skills ... I was curious about needing to prime first? I saw the door to the scullery and thought “hmmm, I wonder what’s in that room”. 🤓 The spring flowers are so pretty

It was such a joy to construct, after the demolition. 😮😊😮. Honestly, I have never tiled on this scale and was nervous. Glad it all worked out. 🤫🤔🤫 The walls could have use a primer, since I did grind them down. There is a matching primer to each paint colour from Little Greene. I realize that this paint was so good, I’d try it without. It worked but in general, you are absolutely right. Sending you 🌷💐🌷 and hugs from Colombe. 😊
