This is probably the first time I've ever watched a restoration video that was 25 minutes long and worth every moment. The amount of detail and care that went into restoring even the smallest pieces....really just amazing. Bravo to you both! You're truly artists in the remaking of such a stunning work of art.

Just watching this made me cry and it’s not even a house I’ll ever seen in person. Just the sheer talent and motivation to literally “exhume” this historical property is insane. I’ve seen many Reno’s of old homes but nothing in comparison to how original this really is. Beautiful!!

Wow, even though I have watched every video, I have forgotten so much. I remember when the renovations of the original floor began thinking that the amount of work Adrian put into them was insane, and then Carole began with the painting and plastering, and then, step two of the floors, almost making the installation of the plywood look easy!!! What a journey! I have no idea why your channel came up on my feed. You are the only chateau people I watch, but what a great day it was. I so look forward to your videos. Thank you for taking us along with you. You have created a lovely place where people feel buoyed up by your skills, dedication and laughter. I read the comments and it is such a nice caring community. Thank you!

Absolutely spectacular. All of the furnishings were well chosen. I can imagine Jane Austen walking into the room and feeling at home. What a marvelous job you both have done. I cannot wait for the other rooms.

Absolutely magnificent. When I first saw the Chateau on that initial tour with Michael P., I thought to myself “if this restoration is done right, it will be something very special “. Well, Carole and Adrien, it HAS been done so much more than right. It has been restored to it’s original beauty and then some. I have really enjoyed watching it transform and can’t wait to see what you do with the rest. You have worked incredibly hard and the results speak for themselves. Well done you.

какая работа, на камин посмотрите, внутри топки должен быть огнеупорный кирпич, а там ракушняк, постоянный перегрев опять разрушит отделку камина, плюс будет постоянно вонять сажей

I loved watching the “fast” version of the salon’s restoration. You two have done an amazing job on the château. Poor Carole’s arms! That ceiling work must have been draining. And the parquet floor! A masterpiece. Love everything.

Absolutely stunning. Wish I was young enough to do it myself. I am a retired paperhanger (wallpaper installation). I was impressed that you tried to have the paper replicated but that it was cost prohibitive. The paper you chose has a brocade look (irresdescent) but you need a lot of light to hit it for the pattern to show. I would have picked a colorful damask or a french floral because they papers they had in those years were brightly colored. I wish I could have helped you. There isn't as much traditional French paper being printed with the current modern craze, but it's out there. Very, very, impressed with all your work. Aaaah, the joy of being young and full of energy.

Congratulations! You must be so proud of your end result - and deservedly so! Looking forward to seeing what "carpet" you finally decide upon. Fantastic work. Thank you for taking us along on your journey.

Amazing job with this video! It couldn't have been easy to choose what you were going to include. Your creativity and determination is so very inspiring! The results are amazing. I'm glad I stumbled upon your video blog a year ago. And this video just includes the salon, it doesn't show all of the other hard work including the garden, mowing, the other room renovations, repairing outside doors, weeding, pulling down vines etc. It's hard to believe you were able to do all of this work in such a short time! I watched this today. No one but your daughter could have done this episode better. But having watched all of those that went into it, which were just tiny glimpses of the actual blood sweat and tears of doing it… NOTHING could convey that effort. No other chateau short of one of the great museums has had a shade of the thought, study and hard work that went into your grand salon. Certainly not by just two people with a little help. Of course you and your family know. I wish the whole design world did. My respect and admiration to you both. And the best thing about it is that it is tasteful, not over done and rug-less. Perfection.
