Everyone hearing JinJer for the 1st time: Ohhh....She has a BEAUTIFUL voice...ahhhh Anyone who's heard JinJer before: This is gonna be FUN!!! Hahahaha
Wow dude, I am impressed that you recognized the "third" type! You are absolutely correct. She does clean vocals (the soft, melodic singing) and then she does death metal "growls" and the third one was still growling but higher pitched, so we tend to call that "screaming" - it's more present in black metal. She says at the end "Emeralds are ripped away". She says it 4 times - the first 3 is the death metal growling, and then the last one, she concludes with a higher pitched growl, akin to the black metal screams. You mentioned "There's a third" right after the fourth, so you definitely picked that up, well fucking done.

It is so funny how everyone pauses right after that first verse and they have the drum break-down. It's like Jinjer knew what would happen. And every time they are like, "What a soft, beautiful voice. Is this really metal though?" And we all sitting there with that grin... Just wait... you just wait!
People request this song simply to see the look on the reactors' faces. And the two of you didn't disappoint.
Jinjer is the band, they're Ukrainian. The woman is Tatyana and she's a force of nature - lots of study and practice to do that without damaging the vocal chords. Metalcore is what they call their genre. They're a lot of fun.
@arashi75m
2 жыл бұрын
The key to doing the growl is to get your vocal cords completely relaxed and open and creating the sound with the vocal folds above the vocal cords. the sound is actually atonal and any "pitch" is created by changing the shape of the mouth. A completely different technique from normal singing vocal techniques.

@@betelgeuse1227 None - there is a video on YT of her talking about how she can do that. It takes quite a bit of training and using only your diaphram and not your vocal cords.
Tatiana Shmayluk is a vocal titan. What she does takes years of practice, along with amazing muscle and breath control. If you want more from them, "Judgement and Punishment" is a one-take video of Tatiana recording that track for the album, "Teacher, Teacher" is put together from concert footage, and "Perennial" live at Wacken Festival is a live outdoor stage shoot.

@@theoneandonlyCatseye Their song “Bad Water” doesn’t have any harsh vocals. And “Wallflower” is very chill for the majority of the song, with an incredible build. It’s not shocking when it shifts, unlike “Pisces”. “Beggars Dance” is all clean vocals, but it’s more of a one-off for them (kinda like an album outro). “Vortex” is another that slowly builds. I’d definitely start with those. You might find that the heaviness isn’t as much of an issue when you’re not abruptly smacked in the face by it. 😊
i was smiling the whole time Amber was talking at the first break about how it was so soft and knowing myself what was coming, the look on Jay's face was just priceless. Good job guys and I know you listened to Floor Jansen with Nightwish do "Ghost Love Score" and if you want to hear Floor growl then listen to the Nightwish song, "Yours Is An Empty Hope" where during the chorus of the song Marko sings clean and Floor growls the lyrics. Also another suggestion for Female Friday is the band Epica featuring Floor Jansen, doing the song, "SANCTA TERRA". Epica is another female fronted band like Nightwish, Jinger and Within Temptation and their singer's name is Simone Simons who is one of Floor's best friends and is also classically trained like Floor. To hear the two of them together is just pure joy. This live version of Sancta Terra not only has the band Epica, with both Simone and Floor but also has a live orchestra and choir. It's mind blowing hearing Metal and Symphonic music together live. Love you guys, just keep doing what you're doing.
You've never seen someone so excited when I seen you were doing Jinjer's Pisces. I couldn't click on the video fast enough. And I was not disappointed, your reaction was PRICELESS! Judgement and Punishment (One take vocal session) is another of my favorites, and I'm not even a metal fan.
It's' hard to suggest another song from Tatiana, Eugene (bass player), Roman (guitar) and Vlad (drums) because they vary greatly in heaviness. Best thing is to witness them live and there is no shortage of AWESOME performances from them. Most reactors do "Perennial" live at Wacken (pronounced Vah-ken) 2019. Jinjer is a band that will soon be a name synonymous with Metal, much like Metallica. Mark my words!

My first time hearing Jinger, and I’m just as shook. Very talented, but also those growls are done with the false vocal cords which ordinarily we can barely even make sound with. It takes years of practice to get good with it, let alone being one of the best in the world.
I just giggle every time there is a pause to explain how beautiful the song sounds. I must watch every reaction.

My favorite reaction video ever! I had to watch it a few times. And I've fallen in love with this band, they are exquisite musicians. But of course, especially the singer. I just went and bought all their cd's. Watching for them on Ticketmaster as well. Thank You!
This song reminds me of the movie ‘the ring’ bc everybody keeps passing it around and many are hooked by the end of the song and actually become fans. This song is a couple years old and it keeps pulling people into their world.
I was waiting for this one. Bwahahahaha! Tatiana is a BEAST! And yes, while there is a little reverb/echo going on at times, that's her real voice - you can check out live clips to see.
Been waiting for this one... Knew you would be shook but would enjoy them. Jinjer is a super talented band. Tatiana is their singer and she is super talented. She produces the "growl" sound by using her false vocal cords/ the vocal folds that lie above the vocal cords. A couple of other Jinger songs I recommend are the one take vocal version of Judgement and Punishment, Perineal live at Waken, Teacher Teacher, or I speak astronomy.
Down the rabbit hole you go!!! Their precision and lyrics are tight!!! Keep’m coming!!
I've seen them in concert twice (soon to be a third). She can pull those vocals off live. Their rhythm and bass players are incredible and they can create some complex and catchy music. I'd suggest "I Speak Astronomy". Musicly and vocally tops

I love your reactions sooooo much! Amber laughing with glee at the transition, made my day. And J almost looked pissed like he thought someone was punking him. And the band is incredibly tight (which many people are too distracted to notice)
What's more amazing than her talent is that she only took vocal lessons as a young child and they never taught her the growl. She worked on it till perfection. And because she does the growl correctly, it puts very little strain on her vocal cords. She is absolutely amazing! And what separates her from other female growlers is her ability to literally switch from head voice to growl and back seamlessly!
Not gonna lie...I have been WAITING FOREVER for you guys to get to Jinjer! They are the best thing to happen to music in recent memory in my opinion! Everything they've put out has been nothing short of great! The usual "next step" with them is "Perennial (live at Wacken 2019)" or "Teacher Teacher (music video)" but a couple of really good live songs that would be dope are "Retrospection - Live from Kiev" and "On The Top - Live from Kiev"...both are BANGERS!!! Don't be afraid of her singing style either...she and the boys are complete sweethearts. They put a lot of thought and energy into their music and have substance. Most of their songs deal with mental health issues, their experiences coming from a war-torn country or global climate issues (among others)...it isn't just Metal for the sake of putting out Metal music, they take a stand on a lot of real world topics. One last note...you'd be doing yourself a HUGE disservice by not checking out the lyrics! If reading them while filming your reaction doesn't work, definitely try to check them out after the fact. Complete poetry!
If you like live sessions, you've got to check out Jinjer's one-take vocal performance of "Judgement and Punishment" - that song has such a deep message and is such a vibe. You had me cracking up laughing with you when Tatiana went into her growl.

You have two sets of vocal cords. One set is used for speaking and singing. The other set is called the "False Folds" and you use those when you do stuff like cough or clear your throat. Extreme metal vocalists began working on this style using the false folds back in the 80's. Tatiana is my favorite. She is amazing. I studied Opera for years and now, in my mid 50's. I'm learning this style.
Ya’ll should check out Perennial by Jinjer live at Wacken. Jinjer is an amazing live band. This live session was just a taste of that

If you want another song by Jinjer, then you MUST hear "I Speak Astronomy" my favorite song from them... the ending is EPIC!!
Your faces. Too good!!! lol Jinjer is a groovy-metal. Tatiana will captivate you with that smooth vocal and then melt your face. The whole band is so talented.
I love how the "most replayed" part of the video is right when Tetiana fires up the growls. Everybody wanted to see the reaction and went straight there, just like I did.
To me Teacher, Teacher is their best song. There's a ton of good Jinjer songs to react to though. The one take version of Judgement and Punishment is great too.

Amen on teacher teacher I think both of them would dearly love that one
You finally found one I have never heard of. But my thought was, YOU DO NOT WANT TO PISS THAT WOMAN OFF
your reaction was worth the price of admission. I am lucky enough to see them live in just over a week.
LMAO!😂 Y’all were conflicted between similarity and irony and the meaning of the song. Check the lyrics. Got Jinjered. Definitely appreciate the real reaction. It starts with cool, turns to awe, followed with intrigue, and ends with impressed and wanting more. Loved it!
Her name is Tatiana, she has videos talking about how she taught herself to make that voice. Jinjer songs to go with (i suggest this order but really any order works): "Teacher Teacher", "Perennial", "Judgment and Punishment (one take version)", "I speak astronomy", "Vortex" Also Female Friday suggestion: Unleash the Archers and their song "Awakening"
So beyond rock . The moment she goes full devil is almost traumatic

Yeah , But the moment she hits the M in "sunbeam" is almost something else... Angelic? 😏😇 For a Succubus 😈🔥 🤘🥴🥰 😂
Ha Ha! Couldn't click on this video fast enough! Thanks for the great reaction.
Jordan, you held that look on your face for about 30 seconds....priceless!
OMG! I feel like i’ve been waiting for ages for y’all to react to Jinjer. I’m so happy you finally took the plunge. Great reaction. Tatiana is the vocalist, Eugene on bass, Roman on guitar and Vlad on drums…together = Jinjer. Perennial live at Wacken 2019 is typically the next step down the Jinjer rabbit hole. Better late than never. Looking forward to more Jinjer reactions! 🍻
Im 51 years old and a huge music lover and I am in awe of Tatiana's vocal prowess. This band has some awesome songs and her Metal voice is one of the best out there.
Perennial live at Wacken is a must !
your reaction to Jinger has me rolling on the floor!!
Lol, this is the one that gets everyone, have seen around 25 reactions to this and it's always Epic 🤘 And 75 percent of the time they make the first stop right where you did lol, and make the same comments, I love Tati they are from the Ukraine, and she's such a sweetheart during interviews 🌹

I actually got to meet the band after a show in Massachusetts a couple years ago when they toured with Cradle of Filth.. and they are all really nice people! And Tatiana is pretty shy surprisingly lol
For a change of pace you should watch Carole King “It’s Too Late” the live BBC concert version. Carole is one of the greatest female songwriters in American history and co-wrote “Natural Woman” for Aretha Franklin and “You’ve got a Friend” for James Taylor. Living Legend.

He Rich, my real name is also Wagener. I am living in The Netherlands, but the name Wagener comes from Germany. I am a Nightwishfan with the amazing Dutch singer Floor Jansen.

@@richwagener Hey Rich, my real name is Kees Wagener. About Evanescence, their singer Amy Lee is often compared with Floor Jansen of Nightwish. Floor fans think that Floor is much better. Both singers are great, Floor is amazing, she comes from Holland. I don't know the band Fall Out Boy, I will watch on You Tube

@@pietkeizer5216 Fall Out Boy is from Rockford, IL which is less than 2 hours from Chicago. So we consider them local. Not as local as the actual band “Chicago” who grew up near where I did.
This is one of my favorite tracks to watch people react to.....and this might be the best reaction I've seen to it. Yall had me belly laughin and slappin my knee!
My favorite song by them is Teacher, Teacher ... great reaction
Hilarious! Jordan's shocked face, and Amber's cracking up, "intrigued", LOL. This is cool - I'm curious to see the lyrics and look into how they do the growl singing....
They have an amazing new album just out, but it's not for the faint of heart. If you want to ease in you could try the live version of 'Judgement & Punishment, or the new video of 'Wallflower'. The band needs some recognition. The drummer is classically trained, and great pianist, the bassist is awesome, and the guitar player always serves the song rather than showing off. They put together unique musical compositions within the heaviness and distortion.
That was a great reaction! You guys kill me! She is so unique it's insane!
Yeah, I was waiting for it. The young lady is incredible.
