100% true ....freedom is the happy

we replaced simple and direct happiness with condition of 'success', which should mean social security, and thus freedom from basic existential fears, which is a precondition to be happy (also in your talk).. we are happy in a moment of 'achieving', but then the whole feeling is lost, as it never means privilege of being safe forever, you have to fight on to stay relatively 'successful' and safe.. you have to prove your worth.. this is a major problem, as the relatively 'bigger' successes asks more and more from you, even sacrificing others, so in the end you end up alone, and everyone is hating you or is envy of you.. but this is not part of the story, everybody sees only the facade of few 'successful', but not the desert left behind them real success is only possible in a group as a whole, as was the simple life of family/tribe survival before, where you felt a part of this group, where we laughed and wept together, where everybody knew each other perfectly, and it was your home..

Happiness true happiness is harder to understand than love. People think if they have less suffering then they are happy but true happiness exists even when suffering. Freedom is happiness is an interesting thought

We want money because we need approval from the outside world to be happy. We wouldn’t know happiness from within if it stepped out and slapped us in the face. Spiritual deep dive needed. I do not need anyone else but myself to be happy.

We no longeur have the time to experiment the lack of something. Therefore we no longer know the value of things, and we can't be thankful if we don.t know the value of something we are not missing. And we can't feel contentment.

Dear Jon, you answered your question yourself - Real happiness is when you have no money at all. It is hard to understand, but it is fact. You are absolutely right. But happiness is not inside us, in spite of most gurus teaching us to search for it inside, nobody finds it, and does not depend on freedom, we are actually free because we are not in jail. Real happiness is when you have no money, you are not worried about earning it, and don't think about food and shelter. It happens in childhood time and can not be when you get older, unfortunately.

Happiness is an emotion, it's not something constant. It's variable and subjectif. But contentment is what we should try to achieve, it's a feeling that will make you constant no matter what happen around you. Seek contentment not hapiness.

@RIVERENDS7 Hapiness is the consequences of pleasure. We say that we are happy when we experiment a pleasant situation or activity. We don’t say “I am pleasure”. We feel pleasure and by consequences we say that we are happy or feel happiness
