We have divided sleeping and waking | J. Krishnamurti
Extract from the seventh public talk in Saanen, 1978.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

He asks us to be honest, to look at things, people, situations, as they are. Not simply in good or bad. Or what is the best for me??. To avoid that conflict in our head. When we practise this during the daytime, we will take it to bed, in our sleep. This is for some. the normal. But for the many extroverts almost impossible..

The question to ask ourselves is what is 'problem'. K. says it is disorder so the question then is what is disorder. Having read and listened to K. for many years it seems disorder is brain activity escaping brain activity, brain trapped into altering or controlling that which has been or that which might be. But can this be seen, sensed taking place as our brain activity?

This is my observation (of myself). The person that I consider as "me" is nothing but a bunch of relationships/identities that I hold at any given moment. While watching the video, I was a "listener", while working I'm a "worker" & so on. However, I do not remember creating any of these relationships. It is as if I was born with it. So, now I start looking/observing those relationships. Not trying to fix/boast them. Just observing. With this, I'm slowly getting into the roots of what is "me". Me is nothing but a complex collection of relationships. Instead of observing them, I usually dust them off by calling it my "personality". So, now I'm clear that the one I call as "me" is a collection/impressions of the past. Therefore I act mechanically. Because of the existence of "me", division between sleep & wakefulness has occurs. It is as if asking "If I'm not there while sleeping, then who is sleeping?" I hope I'm making sense here. if not, please ignore. 😀

Self questioning. Why do you like some certain people? Why is it that only you feel what you feel? Don't we say many times to others or even to ourselves "He/She won't understand what I feel." So asking why it is that only we feel that way, follow certain patterns, follow certain leaders, that might be one of the possibilities to find "Who am I?"
