Alex , the Automatic trucks I drive do the same when the air psi is under 120, leave it on Nutural and air up until the PSI gauge is over 120, and then press your break and put it into gear and see if that works.

The last company truck I was in with that ultra-shift auto trans, our trucks had battery disconnect switches on the floor of the cab between the drivers seat and door and if we ever had a service trans fault or a check engine light we would just turn the truck off and disconnect our batteries and wait a few minutes for all the power to drain off out of the circuits and capacitors and it would always fix our problems and get us back on the road.

Just got my CDL permit today!! Studied a lot, and past it with no issue!!

Yep. Like I said last time. My T680 had this issue, even after replacing the shifter stalk that was the "problem" still would do this.

Had same problem with my auto had 3 autos they all did the same. Could be simple stuff like just a fuse to the whole tranny being bad. Just did a 13spd swap never looked backed. That and a delete best decisions ever. Tranny was like 1800 and like another 1000 to install so it wasn’t that bad considering all I had dropped to fix the transmission and same thing would happen like 2 months later. Hope you get it solved!

My Ken worth does the same thing, have to push the air breaks in and pump the air out of your tanks till the air breaks pop out. That resets the truck. It’s weird but it works I get a code of transmission failure and when I put it in gear it does the same thing. when I do that it resets it. Good luck keep grinding 🤟🏽

imagine if the semi towing your semi breaks down and so another semi has to tow the semi but that breaks down, like a chain reaction

Hey Alex, hope you are doing well. Just some info on the transmission issue. A lot of older Paccar trucks have those transmission issues. So most likely it will need replacing. Its just how automatics are. I'm quite new so I'm not sure how your company is, but I would suggest just moving into the Peterbilt 386(brown truck). While you have connections with this one, its just not performing well enough. Have a great day God bless.

don't do it, truck drivers shortage is a lie, there are so many trucks on the road, and no parking after 7 at the truck stop, you have to wait for 30 min on average to fuel up.

Sometimes the computer needs a complete reset and a bit of time to start thinking again Mine would go into that mode if I was shifting too fast from drive to reverse or if it felt my truck jumping too much in the cases where I’d be backing up with a heavy load. Also you could try emptying all the air out from your tanks and resetting the computer and giving it a little time I have a peterbilt as well

It looks to me a electronic gear selector problem, it does not detect the shifting, or some wiring shorting

If this happens again, turn on and off ignition fast to reset the truck 10 times and then wait 15 seconds on the ignitons and then startup the truck and try to drive it. It happens on kenworths and peterbilts

One of my trucks did the samething and it took a few days to figure out but it ended up being a sensor in the transmission that went bad and was sending the wrong signals

Your truck transmission is air driven. I noticed that your low air psi indicator is on so I’d say let it build up at least over 100psi.

Also it's a procedure you can do to reset it. Ots on Google...my t860 did that because I accidentally left it in drive and turn off the engine

Have them check the gear box most automatics when they get to hot or there not maintained messes up

My truck is starting to trip and not go into gear. I have to turn the truck on and off 3 or 4 times before it finally goes into gear.

You should convert that truck in to a 18 speed manual transmission. 😊
