Steven's has a very peculiar pay scale. Make sure you research that before signing any papers. TMC is a good starter veteran friendly flatbed company. I'm not sure what they pay but I know that starting on flat will allow you not to get into the bad habits and/or laziness of door swingers. Maverick is another flatbed company. They have guaranteed weekly pay and home for your 34. If you choose specialized (glass division) you'll be out longer, make more money, and do all 48 plus Canada. Local and LTL are also good if you don't want to leave...however, know that most companies WILL still have you working your entire 70 hour clock. Also, depending on the structure, you might get sick on 3rd shift and only have 14 hours off. Which is enough time to get some sleep, food and go back. Any other questions, feel free to hit me up!

I test out this week for my cdl I’m 22 from Chicago you a big inspo

My entire truck driving education was off road. It will be beneficial in the future, but on the test it messed me up a little bit. It was the complete opposite so I had to make some adjustments mentally get through the exam. I'm glad I made it through those steps. I have a lot more to learn through experience.

Honestly, a truck gps sucks for the stuff he does in California. With all the restrictions they have for trucks, the gps would be routing him dozens of miles around to get to a location 1 mile away.

I started trucking when I was 21 I’m now 40. I’ve earned the super trucker status. Lol. Back in the day we’d run 1200+ miles a day. From RGV to NYC! Those day were wild. Now, I’m a crane operator and I gotta say, trucking has opened the doors to many opportunities.
