Detroits always good good for leaking oil and whining. 40 years ago I drove charter coaches out of NYC, sometimes for Academy, and they ran 6v71 Detroits.

There is a sweet spot in my heart for International. As a child we got an International pickup that ran forever. I hauled a normal camper for many years then Dad took of the bed and put on a camper that was made to hook up to the frame. We went all over Oregon in that truck all year round. Now I drive an International School Bus and it is the best bus made ever!!

I used to have a 1965 IH Loadstar 1700 schoolbus with a gas 345 and a 5 spd and air brakes. Wish I still had it.

No, they are actually hinged on the proper side because they’re not going to be accessed from ground normally.

I drove several trucks with 6v53’s in them back in the past and even drove one like this one. Washington State DOT. Even drove a snow blower with a 12v71 running the blower end. Detroit diesels are the reason I wear hearing aids now.
