    This trip was painful. Literally, my knee didn't heal for a few weeks (not as young as I used to be). But it was all still worth it. That night/morning at Birch Creek Ranch was just incredible. Thank you!!! I think what happened with the pot was that I heated the oil super hot on accident, and the hot oil bubbled up to where the glue attaches to the silicone….I like the pot and bought another one..but if this second one fails in the same way, then I’m done with them.

    Your story telling really is amazing. Stinks about you drone but it amazes me how many people I have watched that have done the same thing. I have never done a drone but seems like avoidance is something that shouldn't be able to be turned off. No matter what it was awesome daughter time and wish I had done stuff like that when mine were young.

  • @Venture2Roam

    @Venture2Roam

    Thank you!!!! When I'm using the drone, I turn it off when I'm moving it from one location to another to set up a shot (because it's faster)...I was literally just being cocky that I could pull off a high-speed orbit shot without obstacle avoidance on...pure Hubris. I have since disillusioned my self of that notion lol. So true about the experience for the daughters...they had no idea any of those things mattered...and in the end...they really didn't matter anyway. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

    This is just a regular trip with us haha. So stressful in the moment. And like you said, when you get home… just want to get back out there again. Admittingly…. That drone footage and the mud gave me ptsd. Haha. I’m still waiting on the parts for mine, as I was too head strong to get the DJI care for it. And having crashed it ohhhh 6 times now and been able to walk away every time, I thought I was over and above that… NOPE. 😂😂

    Sometimes I regret selling the JL when I watch your videos. But at least the truck has proven itself. So I lost my Drone, after just buying it back in Moab in 2017 when making a video. I actually put a super short crash video on my channel way back then. There is a way on the controller to locate your drone. Unforentually I didn't know that at the time. My wife and I spent an hour rewatching the video and hiking all over, and luckily we found it with only 1 broken rotator. I never felt so anxious and stupid in my life than crashing that thing after literally having just bought it a week before. My fault for not considering the change in the landscape. I flew it straight into a bush on the side of a hill. I can sooooo relate.

    You've got a great truck build! I tried to use the remote's last location...but nothing worked, the last GPS ping must have been too far off to make much difference when i was looking for the drone. I didn't know I could watch the vids even if the drone was disconnected until after I got home...that might have helped...but at some point, I just resolved that it was gone...and resolved to get insurance lol. It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who's done stuff like this!!!!

    Stories like this aren’t told often enough. Things don’t always go according to plan. The funny thing is it’s not an adventure unless something goes wrong, but the ‘going wrong’ part is often left out of KZread videos. Another solid edit, my man. The part where your daughter was messing with you in the background was priceless.

    Hi Mike. This trip was in November. It had rained earlier in the week hence the puddles...but the roads weren't too mushy with mud...just lots of puddles. I'd expect conditions to be really similar in May depending on rainfall. The days are warmer/longer so even if it does rain a bit, there's more evaporation that time of year. Hope this helps!
