Tough Luck guys. Keep after’em. Sometimes they get lucky, sometimes we get lucky. Thanks for the content!

So close. Have you considered using a heads up or pop up decoy in those scenarios? Some folks seem to be doing that these days and having success.

We’ve tried it, but I haven’t had great success with it. The stealth approach seems to yield closer encounters for me.

Just about impossible country to hunt fair-chase. And surely all which skilled hunting can throw at one. And. WITH A BOW! "vive la difference" Commands respect. Real respect! 60 years ago. In very different country. At the age of 13. Shot a 58" Kudu. Used a 1936 model 70 In .22 Hornet. Serial 7985. Just about point blank. Running shot. Was fleeling from another hunter. Far off. I was behind a baobab tree. And this monster, for only a boy, was in full flight, racing only just past the tree. In a sweeping move, actually more out of self defence than anything else, not more than 6 metres off, I took a sweeping shot, right into the lungs. And 80 metres further I was hooked for life. My second hunting success. A year earlier I shot a beaut of a Duiker ram. And ever since. Was I outwitted by nature. During every of the subsequent 200 occasions I was priveledged to carry a 30-06. 180 grain Noslet Ps. Then. With 52 grains of Somchem 365. On a tickie........ God bless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
