We all know the mighty Jau Catfish from River Monsters, but Jeremy Wade never caught one this big! I was hoping for a Pariaba catch but with the Redtail, 2 out of 3 isn't bad...

Look like gilded catfish (the big ones) to me. absolutely awesome fish

They definitely pull harder. Maybe even twice as strong. They're an impressive fish to say the least.

To say it's a different world down there is an understatement. Paul wasn't too keen on landing that fish, which made me laugh. My understanding is that was the largest jau he's ever seen.

I've caught catfish that big in the USA 40 years ago. You can catch peacock in Florida all day long. We use to buy piranha when I was in the 5 grade back in the 60s for $2 from pet shops in LA. These boys miss what life was like when it was care free and a blast. Preserve amazonian forever. Preserve the wild at all costs

No but in my opinion I think they are a little worse than a largemouth basses teeth. I live in Miami where largemouth and peacocks live in the same spots.
