I didn't know this was so affordable! Smart. Does it have multiplayer? Our steam group plays a ton of driving games in VR, and would likely LOVE to get into simple planes too.

It's always hilarious to me when people open the canopy mid-flight. Having done it myself many times, the sheer panic always cracks me up. This game is super fun once you get used to the flight mechanics.

I hope they introduce the builder to the VR port. I know it would be extremely challenging to adapt their builder to VR, but I think it would be awesome to be able to walk around the aircraft as you build it with your own two hands

The thing with this game is it's a VR extention of a PC/mobile game called SimplePlanes, which is a game where you can build and fly your own planes. The aircraft you download are planes people from the community have built and uploaded. The game has been out since 2014 and is by far my favourite game. I've clocked up over 4000 hours in it, mostly in Steam and iOS. I highly recommend it!

@@kennnnneth i can’t use mods as I’m an IOS and quest user, but I’d say MOPCKOEDNISHE cause of the tracks 2 mod and guestor for the CCTV mod

Good to see there's an Explode button in the chopper - wouldn't be an authentic experience without it.

"i dont know what that is..." that's the engine mixture. as you fly higher (or in hotter temperatures) the air becomes less dense, so you need to decrease the amount of fuel that injected to keep your engine running smoothly. It might do nothing in a virtual world without actual air.

Wow this game is so simple but so cool. Imagine when we can simulate all the noise and cockpit feel.

Red is mixture, and needs to be leaned as one gains altitude (keeping an eye on CHT (Cylinder Heat Temp). If the CHT gets too hot (in the red if there is a gauge) re-enrich the mixture. Blue if for prop pitch, flatter for power and increasing pitch to take a bigger bite of the air for economy as you level off and gain speed. Like shifting gears in your car. Full rich and flat pitch for landiing and takeoff. All the way to the dash is flat pitch and rich mixture.

you unlock the places by flying over or landing at them and they are all one sandbox i played and built some planes in it on mobile its truly a great mobile flight sim

@@owensks yes I know it's on PC as well but it's the only flight sim on mobile that runs and works well with no bugs

I've had simple planes since launch its like a sandbox and its a lot of fun definitely recommend

That's why I always familiarise myself before start up the engine. Most sims give prompts to what pressing so spending 5 minuets pre flight doing that really helps for me. Also cool to have some pre flight given most sims don't need to do any pre-flight prep.

I know it’s still being tested and tweaked, but I hope they fix the sensitivity when you try to trim out/in and on the steering stick. It’s all over the place. Made me very nauseous within minutes.. and I play a lot of fast action games that doesn’t do that.

Red lever is usually fuel mixture in general aviation (maybe always- I haven’t done a lot of GA) I think. But changing the prop pitch is also a thing.

Black is throttle, red is mixture, blue is prop pitch.

@@Resist4 gotcha. Thanks! I don’t think I’ve ever flown anything with a manual prop. The t-6 did change its pitch but it was automatic.

Alas, I get two images rather than a single combined 3D image in my Oculus 2. DLed from Steam. FS2020 and VTOL and Ultrawings all work. With the same setup. I flew around the mountain late in the virtual day, and landed at night after flying around the mountain and under 1 bridge and over another and landed against the arrows at night. All with 1 eye closed due to the two images. Nice lighting. Runway numbers would be nice (Mag Heading/10). Note, FS2020 doesn't allow for flying under bridges... even with a float plane on the water.

The original simple planes I have played for 5 or 6 years creating planes and now it’s in be just wet dream

I just got this game on quest 2 and the first vehicle I got was the delorean from back to the future......unfortunately you can't grip the steering wheel since it was made 4 years ago and doesn't have a vr ready cockpit with buttons but the interior looks amazing, you can still pretend to drive it since you can go in the cockpit also if you hit the firing button it has special features on it to make it look like it's about to travel in time.......this game is 10/10 and I hope someone updates it so it 100% compatible for vr so I can mess around with buttons and switches

The game is 100% compatable with VR, however the creations people made might not be. Keep in mind every aircraft you can download is made by a different players, not the devs. Not every player wants to go back and update their aircraft.

can you recommend a VR flying experience that offers real scenery? I want to fly para motor in POV over the most realistic scenery possible. I also want to use Quest 2. Thanks BD

if not on the default control scheme on the controllers, there has to be a lever for it somewhere. At least on the curated builds, use the non-curated ones at your own risk

@@FLOWRIDER0_ My Oculus touch controller left thumbstick works Rudder, no problem. This is using both the Quest store standalone and Steam store (with Air Link) versions.

My favourate part was when psalm 92.4 randomly popped up at 8:24 mins 🙏👍🏻

Don't get me wrong... Any VR is AMAZING compared to flat screen. And the Quest does amazing for a cell phone based device, offered at a very reasonable initial purchase price (games tend to be much more expensive vs PCVR, unfortunately)

@@spencercollison1695 I HOPE you are right! I got the Index for ~$200 off with the trick posted in our group, a difficult choice to spend the cash, but zero regrets once I compared it to Quest. So if I could get a similar quality PCVR, but it was portable, AND I could buy Steam VR games for it (tons more game choices and better pricing) it would be my upgrade path of choice.

Use left controller thumbstick right/left. With aircraft that have rudder you can see the cockpit pedals move accordingly.

All games are stored in the cloud if you don’t keep it on the quest.

Looks very cool War thunder vr is great but u have to use a keyboard or controller So it's nice to see a good flight sim built from the ground up for vr Also there's more than just warplanes

This is not built for VR its ported from simpleplanes without the building. The original has been around for a long time. If you want to build your own to flyin vr, youll need the flat version.

The yaw works with your joy stick left and right just like vtol vr
