It’s the entertainment business. They literally have in contract that they are an entertainment company that can alter the outcome of games if they want too. That way you can’t sue them if you ever bring hard evidence of them rigging games

It all comes back to other sports having too long of seasons, which makes a single game less important. If you tell me the Ravens play the Chiefs in week 1, that's big news with possible playoff implications (a bit of a stretch but it could). Finding out who plays who in week one of basketball or baseball is pretty meaningless when their playoffs are over half a year later. The point is the NFL off-season is the perfect length. The combine, the draft, and now schedule release day. No other fans get to enjoy their off-season like NFL fans do.
