Great video. Despite all the controversy, everyone should agree the Model 3 performance is an outstanding EV, especially for the price. I love your interactions together! You can tell you are a longtime married couple who understands each other’s strengths and feelings. She wants you to choose the performance but ONLY if YOU want to because an unhappy Dave is not worth the benefits driving a smaller Tesla would bring her. You give each other space.

I don't know, 63.000$ for a model that is slightly faster. Not sure if that is outstanding. Standard model 3 being ~43.000$ around here, and also is the more popular model. But even then, almost no one wants a white car, that's another 1500$. Want any of the features, and now even the standard model is close to 54.000$. While i do like them, as a single person, i just find them a bit too expensive. To me, it's not so weird that manufacturers like BYD is outselling Tesla.

Performance is more than just speed, it’s the part of the car review where they describe all the driving dynamics like over-steer, the steering feeling “numb” and brakes being “soft” that goes completely over my head. I want a quiet cabin and gliding over potholes and I’m happy. I’ve heard about two issues with Chinese cars; they have substandard safety levels/quality controls and have stolen intellectual property in their cars to the point they cannot sell them in several countries. Not sure if this is true.

@@sharonb.9128 That's true. There's car brands in China that you won't see outside of China. Extremely poorly build, battery fires etc. They're also very cheap. I don't really care about those, as i would never get to see one, in this part of the world. So you want to stick with brands that are sold in EU and Australia. I belive they both have some fairly decent standards.

The refreshed M3P in Stealth Gray looks awesome. I didn't get a chance to sit in or demo drive one during my 2024 MY delivery last week. They were so busy, the general manager was taking care of 3 or 4 of us at the same time. Shout out to the Savannah, Georgia Tesla Service/Delivery team for the great experience! By the way, Kathy and your videos inspired me to go with a white/white MY. Could not be happier with that choice, especially in the coastal Georgia area (it gets pretty warm in the summer.) Thanks again for the wonderful, fun and informative videos.

Watching OOS Dave is like eating your favorite ice cream. When including Kathy, it elevates to a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream & nuts.

Yeah, I agree. Model 3 should be a hatchback. Just like the model S is. But I guess they did that not to encroach on the model Y sales. And yes, it’s much better looking than the model Y.

If you got a model 3 performance you wouldn't see it for 2 or 3 months as kyle would take it too Colorado for testing 🤔

I think Tesla should continue to offer low interest rates, like 2 or 3%, until the economy recovers, or until there's a break through in all the fake news about EVs and about Tesla in particular. And more advertising, Tesla, fighting fake news.

Performance in Stealth Grey is the ONLY M3 that qualifies for the $7500 Federal Tax Credit. Tesla pricing / promotions are now a complete mess, encouraging customers to wait on purchase. Lease deals are pretty good.

With the design of the Model 3 and Model Y being similar, I wonder if the view of your phone on the charging pad is due to the seats of the Model Y being higher. The seats of the Model Y are sitting on platforms while the seats of the Model 3 are lower.

You need to test drive the 3 performance.

Model X days are numbered…just a matter of time. I’m no psychic, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once! 😂

Ford did do that. They had a $7500 incentive on the Lightning plus some dealer incentives (not the tax credit) that was suppose to run until the end of December 2023 and they pulled it in November.

For all the rule changing, I'd rather have that then deal with a salesman at a traditional dealership because of the gamesmenship and bs they have a customer go through to purchase a vehicle.

As always, I enjoyed the video with you two together. I'm pretty sure that the logo on the seats and back is supposed to look like the graphic they used in Space Balls when the starship went to Ludicrous Speed.

Lr awd highland on 20s is 305 rated miles of range man. Without staggered wider wheels with the sticker tires. 👍🏻😀 I bet on 18s the new m3p would beat the lr awd in a range test.

Nah if anything it should've been priced at least 10k higher! Anything competition wise is $10-40k more&Slower! What they could do to be really nice is allow you to either choose a color you liked or choose the white interior for the 55k.

Great video Dave!, those doors of the performance, do they open 90 degrees? I have driven all the Tesla models and I think for the money and space Model Y is the way to go. The X if you need 6-7 seats but too many things that can break in that car. My 2 preferred are model Y and the S for sporty and comfort.

The new s plaid seats are wider bolsters and much firmer. Love my former s plaid seats, and absolutely love my new performance 3 highland. Best 2 cars tesla ever made. Same configuration!

Those seats were not designed for comfort on a road trip for wide people. Maybe, they are fine for a 25 min commute to work. I wish Tesla would offer a luxury vs performance model with massaging seats, higher quality materials, and a driver’s display. Even the slowest Tesla has more acceleration than we need.

I test drove the new M3 and what is extremely impresssive is the upgraded suspension/handling!! I have been a BMW guy for decades and this thing handles better than any BMW I have ever driven!!

The only thing people will need to do if they choose the performance and live in a part of the country with cold winters, the car comes with only summer tires by default and you will need a second set of tires for the winter months.

Tesla isn’t doing the financing, their partner banks are. Tesla may not be the ones changing their mind on financing rates, but the banks may.

Pull the trigger on the new M3P Dave! You look good in it … as does your better half … and you deserve it.

I want to know how the drivers side left arm rest is. I like to rest my arm and in most cars I cannot. I’m a little below average in height.

Took delivery of my 24 M3P about a week and a half ago and its my first EV/Tesla and upgraded from a civic, its amazing its my fave car ive owned so far! theres only 1 panel gap that ive noticed and the only interior flaw is the passenger window button is like tilted and it rubs up against the lil wall area to the left of it. Its no biggy in my book but besided that i absolutely love it! Its definitely the quickest car ive ever had and probably will ever have and im ngl im way too scared to launch it XD everytime i do i feel like a cop is gonna come out of nowhere and get me haha but i love it so much and definitely recommend it! already almost have 1k on the odometer already too XD

$48K for a 10 second car. I subscribe to the Walk Softly but Carry A Big Stick crowd.

I think Dave should trade that X in for the M3 Performance. Yup!

The Model 3 Long Range is eligible for the $7500 tax credit - it has the us made Panasonic 2170 cells and pack. I ordered a 2024 Model 3 LR in April 28th and I am not getting it until end of June. I think they are selling quite a bit.

After ‘road trip renting” a several TeslasI leased an Ioniq 6 two months ago. The Ioniq is quieter and rides better than the outgoing model 3. Also, it seems like you see Teslas everywhere now-a-days. The Ioniq 6 is still unique and gets a lot more compliments than I thought it would. I was also considering a Ford Lightning. I kinda regret not getting the truck. I’m a big guy 6’3” and getting in and out of a sedan is a pain in the butt…and I find myself constantly in need of a truck.

Actually it’s White Plains You are right!

Correction: The base price of the Model 3 Performance is now $54,990, that's grey with black interior. You cannot get the white interior anymore and qualify of the 7500 tax credit. They raised the price $1k last month.

I think Tesla is advertising a slower 0-60 time on the new M3P so as it does not seem as fast as the tri motor cybertruck cyberbeast. All the initial dragy results are ~2.6s with one foot rollout . The previous M3P was dead on 3.1s with 1 foot rollout. So the new m3P is legit .5 seconds faster to 60.

Offer those seats as an option in models S/X to increase sales.

The EV Market is flooded. You would be crazy to buy one at the current total price. If you want one, consider a low-mileage used model or wait until they get desperate and offer more price reductions. It can cost as much as 25-50 cents per kWh. You could pay 12 dollars at some chargers to drive 100km in an EV. It costs 14 dollars to drive 100km in a full-size V8 pickup. Let that sink in.
