If doing multipitch or belaying from above, being able to lower the 2nd, set up a pulley system and being able to set up an improv ascender is important in a pinch. I think the tendency (and what we did) was to focus on the leader's success and switch overs only. One time, I was following and fell and was stuck dangling in mid air. Partner lowered me some and I just kept getting more tired and failing. I ended up being able to cheat my way up and work back over to the clip. There was a ton of yelling, most of which couldn't be heard.

Josh, can you help me figure out how to make my own bosuns chair with some static rope and a 2x8? I tried drilling two holes in both ends but the seat is too tippy like that. Thanks!

Would you consider taking a set of half ropes next time on this? Or two singles but use half rope technique.
