I really like how Steve Buscemi plays a guy who doesn't believe in tipping in this movie and in Tarantino's next movie Pulp Fiction he plays a waiter.

Mr. Pink is dead. If you listen closely at the end, maybe turn up the volume, you can hear the police outside telling Mr. Pink to "drop it" followed by many gunshots. As the building was surrounded, I think it's safe to say Mr. Pink did not survive. Everyone died. Cheers.

Mr. Pink DEFINITELY survives. After I read your comment, I went back to watch the ending. It's been a while since I watched but I found the film in my Movies folder on my hard drive. Now, I don't even remember where I got this video file but imagine my surprise to find it's missing the dialog track. It only contains the music track and the sound effects track. Some, maybe even most, of the sound effects must have been recorded on the dialog track (e.g. Mr. Pink lighting the Zippo lighter). Most importantly, the sound effects track includes everything that happens outside the warehouse when Mr. Pink is apprehended by the cops. If you watch the movie normally, you can hear some of this but most of this gets covered up by Mr. White and Mr. Orange's dialog. Mr. Pink exits the warehouse and jumps in one of the cars. He has trouble the car started. The engine tries to turn over like ten times before he finally gets it started and starts to drive off. You hear the cops pull up and there are lot of sounds of cars colliding. It seems that Mr. Pink tried to crash his way out. I was shocked to listen to this just now and you can clearly hear a dialog exchange between Mr. Pink and the cops. I'm not sure that I ever heard this exchange before. The cops are ordering Mr. Pink to put his hands on the dashboard. Mr. Pink can be heard clear as day saying, "Don't shoot! I've been shot goddammit!!" During this chaotic scene, the cops get Mr. Pink out of the car and you can hear them ordering Mr. Pink to put his hands behind his head and to spread his legs. In the normal version, things don't look too good for Mr. Pink but after hearing the background isolated from the dialog track, it's clear that Mr. Pink survives.

13:22 I love how you analyze the movie and compare between the other Tarantino characters, like Vincent and Vic Vega, they're actually brothers, you're right, you're a Tarantinoesque as Brad Pitt says when he paid tribute to Tarantino :))

Now, whenever you hear the song, "Stuck in the Middle with You", you have to do the dance. LOL!!!

I can't wait to see Aria's reaction to the shenanigans of Mr White, Mr Pink, Mr Blue, Mr Brown and of course Mr. Purple.

I noticed they talked about pam grier, and in Tarantinos movie "Jackie Brown" as one of the main characters.

I absolutely adore the way you pronounce your V's, don't listen to the haters.

The reason the song for the end credits is the Lime in the Coconut song, is because the ending is so dark. He wanted a silly upbeat song to remind people that it’s just a movie and it’s meant to be entertaining. And no, Mr. Pink didn’t get away. He left right into the arms of the cops. This is confirmed.

Fun fact: Samuel L. Jackson auditioned for the role of the undercover cop who was teaching Mr. Orange his thing. He obviously didn't get the role, but Tarantino lioed him so much that he wrote the role of Jules Winnfield specifically for him. Secondary fun fact: Sam didn't know Tarantino was the director, since he only saw him in the role of Mr. Brown when he auditioned.

Hey Aria, I'm guessing your picked up on the simplicity of set location with "Reservoir Dogs" and the complexity of the dialogue. -------- I love how "Reservoir Dogs" is almost like watching a play. ----- It mostly takes place in a single room and it's really 90% conversation between 2 or 3 characters. ------ It puts the dialogue at the Forefront and the dialogue is Simply Amazing. ------ Kudos to Mr Tarantino. The stuff of legends.

Yes, Vic/Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) is Vincent's brother. In fact, the role of Vincent was originally written for Madsen also, but he had to turn it down because he was busy filming Wyatt Earp at the time. Tarantino originally had plans to make a prequel about the brothers called The Vegas Brothers, but it was cancelled because it never got of the ground & both John Travolta & Madsen had become older. There was a thought about making the movie about their twin brothers instead, but even that idea felt far fetched. I think The Vegas Brothers story became a book instead. I always thought that they could turn the story into an adult animated movie, in the same style as the animated origin story of O-Ren in Kill Bill & perhaps giving it a little Ralph Bakshi style, which I know Tarantino would definitely do 😉 And of course, have both John Travolta & Michael Madsen voice reprise their roles. And If Tarantino doesn't want to direct it, he can always produce it & it can still have his style & touch. Just look at Gremlins & Poltergeist, both produced by Steven Spielberg & even though he didn't direct them, they still had his style & touch.

We see Monster Joe in deleted scenes and it's a different guy. Monster Joe has a daughter Raquel, not a son Eddie.

Favorite Tarantino movie - hands down!! Followed by Pulp Fiction Django, Kill Bill, and Jackie Brown.

Joe shot Orange. White shot Joe. Eddie shot White. And White shot Eddie back. Pink was hiding & then he got arrested by the police outside (which you can hear If listening properly during the dialogue between White & Orange lying there bloody & shot)

Legendary crime film. I'm glad to watch you react to it. You got to love the odd way the story is presented to the viewer.

Since you brought up Robert Rodriguez, if you haven't seen his Mariachi trilogy (El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon A Time In Mexico) I highly recommend them. Also check out the other 2 Tarantino scripts he didn't direct - Natural Born Killers and True Romance

I love seeing people's reactions to Chris Penn (Nice guy Eddie) when he tells orange that mr blonde did time for his father, he looks fuckin insane by the end of it. Great piece of acting

Hey Aria Madsen's and John Travolta's characters (Vic and Vincent Vega) are actually brothers in the Tarantino universe. ------- I believe there was talks at one point about doing a flick called the Vega Brothers. ------- By the time Tarantino got back to the idea of the movie John Travolta and Michael Masden had gotten too old to play their younger selevs, so Tarantino scrapped the project.

I think Tarantino movies can be rated on three qualities: how clever the plot is, how pretty and stylish the movie is, and how much blood splatters around. And I do like some splatter, not going to lie, but personally I prefer the other two, so Pulp Fiction is of course my favorite. And Kill Bill, gorgeous as it looks, doesn't really do it for me. My second favorite Tarantino movie is Jackie Brown. Clever film, there's no one more stylish than Pam Grier, and enough blood to make it gritty without getting downright gross. Anyway, I recommend it, I think you'll enjoy it.

Vic and Vincent Vega are indeed brothers. The role of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction was originally intended for Michael Madsen (who plays Vic Vega in this movie), so I guess maybe that's why he made them brothers.

Hey Aria, The opening breakfast scene establishes many things without the need of a narrator. ------ That each character is intensely passionate for whatever ideology they have come upon. -------- The other thing is Harvey Keitel is willing to go against JOe, when he won't give him his notebook. -------- Tarantino's dialogue is never there for fluff. it always takes us somewhere. We never understand until the movie credit roll, but it's there for a reason.

I think that this is the only Tarantino film that doesn't have women's bare feet. As you watch more Tarantino films you'll see that there are things he loves to do besides women's feet. Long uncut takes, incredible dialogue, over the top violence, great music, scenes jumping back and forth in time and no matter how complicated the movie may get, he always gives the audience what they need to tie everything up.

I see you recognized Mr. Wolf from "Pulp Fiction" aka Mr fix it. -------- In real life Harvey Kitel the man who got Hollywood to recognize Tarantino as a director, after seeing a draft of the " Reservoir Dogs" script. ------ In Hollywood the distribution deal is everything. -------- The budget went from $20k post- college film to a $1.6 million indie film with top notch actors joining the project. ------- Or else the movie won't get major cinema placement or marketing.

Hey Aria, Mr. Blonde is # 1 in my book. Mr. Pink is a close second. Mr White is 3rd and Mr. Orange is #4 favorite in the movie. Just for his gumshon to be an undercover beast. --------- Honorable mention to Mr. Purple.

Who shot Eddie? "Chris Penn (Eddie) once explained that his blood squib (a mini explosive device used in films to simulate gunfire) went off earlier than planned, forcing him to fall to the floor before time. Penn said that Keitel (Mr White) was supposed to shoot Tierney (Joe) and then him, but the squib on Keitel went right off after shooting Tierney, so he went down before he shot Penn, whose squib went off anyway, so he had to fall too. It was bad timing, but Tarantino decided to keep the scene for the sake of people talking about the film, saying it would be “the biggest controversy of the film”. In the end, nobody shot Nice Guy Eddie, but in the script, it was Mr. White who did it, which completely rules out the option of Mr. Orange shooting Eddie. Even if no one shot him due to a mistake with the blood squibs, Nice Guy Eddie didn’t survive the shooting, and in the end, the last man standing was Mr. White, who in his final moments shot Mr. Orange before being killed by the police (Mr. Pink’s fate, however, is open to debate). This is one of those mistakes that ended up helping the film, as it definitely gave the audience something to talk about and analyze for a while."

Please consider doing Kill Bill next, if you haven't already seen it of course.

I feel you about the v vs w thing; as a Norwegian I do the same thing, since we dont have the English W sound in Norwegian. Especially if it's two words right after eachother, like for example "very well" it will very often come out as "wery vell". And it pisses me off every time, because I *know* how to say it, it's just my mouth refuses to cooperate :p

hate to disappoint you but if you listen carefully to the background dialogue after pink leaves you can hear the cops confronting and presumably shooting him.

Great reaction and great analysis, Aria. I'm not a big lover of Tarantino, I find him to be overrated as a director. I do like a few of his movies, this being one of them. Check out "Jackie Brown", it's a good movie, and doesn't get enough respect. Also, I love the way you pronounce your "V's", don't let those fools bother you. Cheers!

FYI: When Mr. Orange gives himself a pep talk in his apartment just before leaving to meet Joe, he says, ""You're not gonna get hurt. You're fucking Baretta. They believe every fucking word 'cause you're super cool." "Baretta" was a 1970's cop show about an undercover detective played by Robert Blake. Great 70's crime drama.

Larry shot both of them. I had to slow-mo it on vhs to catch it as a kid. Crazy scene. Great movie. Sidenote: Mr. Pink can be heard having an altercation with police at the end. It's unclear if he was taken dead or alive.

One of my all-time favorite QT movies. So well written and directed. Short, sweet, lots of blood and everyone dies at the end. Except Mr Pink. Or did he die outside by the cops? But man, that torture scene with Mr Blonde and the cop. Too real, but so well done. Loved your reaction. Check out Jackie Brown another gem by QT.

Man, Quentin was mad young. :D This is--- essentially a filmed play. :) Tarantino was just starting out and didn't have a lot of resources; he hadn't yet mastered action scenes, and his skill at bringing out unexpectedly great performances hadn't truly even begun to develop. But--- the *dialogue:* that trademark Tarantino dialogue was already there, fully formed, and that makes Res Dogs worth checking out. Well, that--- and "Stuck in the Middle with You"...

This is a great movie. The action and cinematography is exceptional. Anything by Quentin Tarantino is worth viewing. It is brutal but entertaining. It is a great movie to watch with a bowl full of popcorn with extra butter!

You were right about Vic Vega According to Tarantino he was Vincent Vega's brother. So I think you might be onto somethings speculating that the briefcae with the diamonds is the same briefcase as in PULP FICTION. Then again it could also be the briefcase full of money Michael Madsen (aka Mr. Blonde) opened in KILL BILL VOL.II. (I won't say any more of that since you haven't seen it). But wasn't a briefcase the central focus of Tarantino's TRUE ROMANCE? Seems to be maybe a trademark of his. By the way, Mr. Pink, Mr Orange, Mr. Brown and Mr. White were also in PULP FICTION. And Mr. Pink was definitely lucky in being the only one who survived. But if you listen to the background noise he was apparently apprehended immediately after leaving the warehouse.

I've read that Ving Raimes cut his neck shaving his head & put a bandaid on it. QT decided it added to the character & left it on. A "scar" wouldve done the same & added to the mean look so I doubt the makeup dept would have covered it.

Mr. Pink is not free. The cops arrested him outside but you have to turn up the volume really high to hear it. Nice Guy Eddie was supposed to be shot by Mr. White but the squib misfired during the shooting and they didn't have time to reset and reshoot so the mistake was left in. This has led to fan theories about Mr. Pink doing it. Mr. White/Larry IS a bad guy. If you watch the deleted scenes, you find out more about Larry and he's not as nice as he seems here.

Mr. White pulled off 2 shots..1 for joe and the other for eddie.

Eh, was great till the end. Keitel's character was a seasoned vet in the biz! He never would've sided with stranger Roth. More than likely just off him & split his share. "Jackie Brown" is where its at! Better than Pulp Fiction to me as someone who saw them when they popped! Another great pick though friend! See ya! ✌️🌎❤️

Hot Take: I personally think that the waiter that was attending Vic Vega & Marcellus's wife was Mr. Pink. That would be the only "lowly" job that he could get after prison. If you listen closely, you can hear the police screaming at Mr. Pink to follow some directions when he leaves the hideout. He doesn't get away with the diamonds & that would explain him as a waiter in pulp fiction.

How was your day Thursday, everything okay? Here in my country the film was almost banned due to the sensitive issues of sexual content since in my country people are divided over this issue. Also a few days ago it arrived in the MGM+ catalog because in my country the distributor of the film was MGM ! What do you think that even in 2024 the issue of sexual content is sensitive in many countries?

As you already know, Aria, I'm not one who enjoys Quentin Tarantino's style of extreme brutality in many of his movies, but I do like a good heist film. That said, I will recommend "The Lookout" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeff Daniels. It is suspenseful with interesting and colorful characters, but at the same time has a lot of dramatic heart and the acting is top notch. Another modern classic heist/thriller is John Frankenheimer's "Ronin" with Robert De Niro. It has spectacular car chases and stunts that were done for real and in-camera. It also uses a "McGuffin" plot device like in "Pulp Fiction" from which the story centers.

"Relax. Have a cigarette." "I quit." "Alright." "Why, you got one?" Fun Fact: Filmed in thirty-five days. Medical Fact: During filming, a paramedic was kept on the set to make sure that Mr. Orange's (Tim Roth) amount of blood loss was kept consistent and realistic to that of a real gunshot victim. Music Enthusiast Fact: Madonna, who is the main topic of the opening conversation, really liked the film, but refuted Quentin Tarantino's Like A Virgin (1992) interpretation. She gave him a copy of her Erotica (1992) album, signed: "To Quentin. It's not about dick, it's about love. Madonna." Pacifist Panic Fact: Michael Madsen had difficulty filming the torture scenes, due to his strong aversion to violence of any kind, and was particularly reluctant when he was required to hit Kirk Baltz. When Baltz ad-libbed a line that his character has a child at home, Madsen, who had just become a new father himself, was so disturbed by the idea of leaving a child fatherless that he almost couldn't finish the scene.

I had watched this movie for decades without realizing no one shot Eddie. You’re so perceptive.

There's debate as to whether Freddie was killed in the end -- we only hear a loud shot among many, but don't see Freddie get it.

No one shot Eddie. RD is a sensational movie (you just have to believe the strong bond between White and Orange), but Tarantino screwed up that gunfight, big time.
