As a long-time X-Men fan and fan of the original series, even though I wasn't born when the show was around, HOLY S*** , THIS SERIES IS EXCEPTIONAL (pun intended). No joke, this series is so masterfully well written, with absolutely phenomenal animation and truly compelling characters and complex, deep, dark themes that genuinely make you question the inherent societal bigotry and how to process internal thoughts of fighting for equality and how to do so in a way to help society grow from the status quo of discrimination and to do more than allow yourself to become numb to a neverending struggle that you feel like isn't your responsibility. Truthfully, this series is some of the *BEST MARVEL MEDIA WE'VE EVER SEEN SINCE ENDGAME* (except No Way Home, GOTG3 and Loki)! Compared to how phenomenal this series was, Fox movies seem like amateur student films with such a bare-bones understanding of how truly incredible and insane the X-Men stories can be when you truly hire people who care about these amazing characters. After watching this show and its epic finale, Bastion became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains. Theo James especially gave a superb performance as Bastion; now, whenever I read a comic featuring Bastion, I'll hear his voice. Not only him but the entire voice cast, especially for Cyclops, Magneto, Storm, Jean, Charles, Gambit, Rogue, Jubilee, Wolverine, Morph, and Nightcrawler, all did a tremendous job. Bro; the number of cameos in this series is insane! Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan had me in tears🥺. 10/10 SEASON 1 I NEED A SEASON 2 NOW!!!

Agreed. Nobody ever gave two craps about the Avengers outside of maybe one or two stories. Sure Spiderman is Marvel's most popular character but Xmen were a close number 2. Nobody cared about Thor, Ironman, Guardians etc until Fox messed up and Disney pushed the Avengers!!

@@sliferxxxxTo be fair, X-men wasn’t really all that big until the late 80s/ early 90s. And by then, the guy in charge pushed X-men at the expense of everything else (Spider-man Clone Saga). The Avengers and Spider-man were the ones being pushed. I mean, the movies from back then were Hulk, Captain America and Punisher. No X-men anywhere besides the arcade game, failed Pryde of the X-men and an appearance in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Most people are fans of X-men because of the 90s series. It was later popularity that made it revisionist to think it was that popular since the 70s.

@jinxie712 the best selling marvel comic of all time is an xmen title and that came out before the animated series. The fact remains, for most casual comic book readers as far as marvel was concerned it was Spiderman, xmen then the rest. Individually, hulk probably would probably be the 2nd most popular character.

So much to unpack in this first season, i dont know where to start. The animation? The soundtrack? The emotion? The character arcs? Making it about the X-Men not just about Wolverine? How each character has personality? Their use of powers? I was on the edge of my seat last episode. Just when shows had became a binge watch, we are reminding why weekly releases matter. Hes hoping season 2 can continue the quality.

Literally. In a video with so much praise I didnt want to bog it down with something so small to me. Like i know that story lasted like a year or two in the comics. But its a great small bitsized version of it. Then only thing is like the start of like episode 7 or something. With Jubilee was a bit ehh. But 1 arc being a little fast and 12 minutes being just okay is so easily forgivable when everything else is peak.

Just Spider-Man TAS. I think the Fantastic Four and the avengers can just cross over with Spider-Man & x men because the rogues gallery for f4 & avengers aren’t that good and they don’t have as much interesting stories compared to those 2. But I wouldn’t be upset if they made a F4 series. As long as they can keep up the quality with these shows without being overwhelmed with too many spin-offs.

The series I want them to bring back next, which X-Men 97 CLEARLY paved the way for is Spider-Man 98 AKA Spider-Man TAS!! Much like X-Men the animated series made many people including myself X-Men fans, Spider-Man The Animated series made me a Spider-man fan long before the Sam Rami Spider-Man movies did to other people. The Spider-Man animated series was just as successful as the X-Men animated series was and lasted five seasons like the X-Men animated series did! And not to mention the two part Crossover episode with the X-Men was really good! And it established that Spiderman TAS and X-Men TAS were part of the same universe! Which is why there was two Spider-Man/ Peter Parker cameos in X-Men 97 that was clearly the Same version of Spider-Man/Peter Parker from Spider-Man TAS! Not to mention the Daredevil cameos which was the Daredevil that was introduced in Spiderman TAS! I really want them to do Spider-Man 98 next because much like X-Men TAS did, Spider-Man TAS ended in a cliffhanger which one the Spider-Man cameos did very briefly show was resolved which made my jaw drop when I saw it! Which of course made me want to know how that cliffhanger was resolved!! Which I don't want to spoil just in case anyone has not seen Spider-Man TAS yet! But seeing those cameos makes me really want them to a Spider-Man 98 Animated series next!

Then X-men. With Charles and Magneto being the only real ones to get some arcs. And SOME characters getting a scene or two. Thats not to say that the early 00s movies didnt do any good. Its saying that This show put them on the radar of oh... This is why the comics are the number 1 superhero team.

I feel as if this is a little closed minded. You need to look at the greater context that X-men was the superhero team of the 80s and 90s. And to the point that their comic runs were being canceled to give space for more MCU adjustment runs. X-men as an IP was less valuable this past decade. Thats just how ive seen them. It has been all wolverine or nothing. That isn't turning my back to an IP. It's that for two decades then only stories they adapt are wolverine, Phoenix saga stuff. Or turning Days of future past into a wolverine story. With First Class being the soul exception bar new mutants. Which... Do we need to say anything about that? In the terms of popularity online. More people were talking about Doom Patrol and Teen titans than them. Regardless if the books dropped in quality or not. This video is nothing but praise for the X-men. If you thought they were always cool then sweet. But look around. MANY people wrote this show off as nothing but a cashgrab. To then do a 180 like I did.
