One day years ago I met a young lady at the Dept of Motor Vehicles. I was there to get my license renewed but she was there because out of state SISTER had fraudulently gotten a NC Drivers License using the sisters information - and then proceeded to rack up massive speeding tickets. The lady I met didn't know about this until she attempted to get her license renewed and found that her license was blocked/cancelled (for non payment, failure to appear in court, and repeated speeding). How horrible to be betrayed by a loved one.

Let them live their own lives & stop deciding that they’re gonna need or use credit. Saying this is a mom. My oldest is 5 & even at 5, I let him choose what he wants to do. He gets options. They’re his choices. I never impose my will or wants on him just because I pushed him out like what kind of controlling mess is that

Someone filed an unemployment claim under my husband's name a couple of months ago. And he still works for the same company. It was easy to battle since the company told him right away and he still worked there, so money was not transferred anywhere. But police refused to do anything about it since nobody actually stole any money from him. They just told him to come back when someone actually takes him money. Mmm, Colorado Springs police. But when you call them when the crime actually happened (hit and run, happened to me and my friend on separate occasions, and a case of theft), they say they are busy and if ambulance is not needed, then it's not too serious and they are not coming.

The collection agencies work together. When the statute of limitations is coming up, those accounts about to age out get sold to a new collection agency which restarts the process. A friend of mine settled a debt with a collection agency and she got a notice stating that the debt amount had bee paid to the collection agency. They should just not allow kids to open credit cards. They should only be for adults 21+, coz even 18 is still young and doesn't know much.

My ex opened 4 credit cards in my name and when she divorced me I got all these bills from credit card companies that I didn't even know about. She had rented an apartment in a town 40 miles away where she worked and had the statements sent to that address till the divorce was final so I was stuck for 50K in credit card debt. Men, go the other way, cause she also got almost everything I had from the judge. Western society sucks for married men.

A man I used to know had that happen. His wife opened a store account, and a credit card account in his name. He found out either through a routine credit check or when he requested a credit report. He closed the accounts, and flagged his account to notify him at work if any new accounts were applied for. Later he discovered that his wife had also opened a bank account in her name and had been building it by slowly transferring funds from their joint checking accounts without his knowledge (she did not work outside the home) in order to buy a piece of property for herself. He took her name off of their accounts and eventually divorced her.

Oh wow... Sue the estate. It stinks that the fraudster is mom who had to die in order for the caller to find out. However, the estate needs to pay out. I knew a woman who did this, but she took out the cards in her elderly father's name and paid them through his checking account. When he died, the calls started coming in about the past due accounts. She laughed it off and it seemed to be a point of pride that she was able to negate/walk away from $15,000 to $20,000 worth of debt. As a side note, it does not seem that Tristan's mom did what she did for anyone's benefit. Had her fraud been beneficial, she would have let Tristan know about it at 18 and given him the opportunity to take over the credit card account. My husband checks our credit accounts once or twice a year.
