Probably after Kante's substitution Chelsea was lost control in midfield. They were struggling to take control as they were in desperate need of goal so Tuchel felt like He needs to add an extra man to help the situation but That didn't work of course so he then again Brought Jorginho to help the situation and It did. So because of Saul he probably didn't bring lukaku but Add another midfielder instead.

I’m not a Chelsea fan, but thought they deserved to go through tonight. They completely dominated an average RM side. Thought the goal that was disallowed was a little harsh, but those decisions can go either way. Unfortunately, over the two legs, Chelsea made too many mistakes, and missed too many guilt edged chances, and ultimately that cost them. That pass from Modric for the first goal, was one of the best I’ve seen for a long time. Chelsea need a replacement for Lukaku, who I’m sure will be leaving at the end of the season.

What a game to watch so close! I personally am a Liverpool fan, I like Chelsea and their players and Tuchel but tbf, that goal that they got from the corner (rudigers goal) wasn’t actually a corner, in the slowed downs replay they showed Reece James sliced at it and it went underneath modrics foot it didn’t actually make contact with any Real Madrid players so Chelsea were pretty lucky to get that goal, the disallowed goal later on In the game made up for that, the ref made a mistake both ways so he can’t really be disappointed with the ref but I get why he is because of his passion, still love him as a managaer

Not at all. Alonso touched the ball with his hand, and according to the regulations, that was correctly disallowed.

So unlucky tonight, Chelsea completely deserved the win. He’s a top class manager with all his tactics.

They deserved the win and they got it. 3-2. Did they deserve to win by more than that? Probably not. They played well but missed important chances.

*Stats don’t mean anything in the world of football it’s all about the goals scored can be getting smashed possession and shots on target but that one or two taken chances can win the game*

Credits to Madrid when its due as well. They were down but never out. Super clinical and composed with Don Carlo's preparation. Ancelotti has just become the first manager in the history of the UCL to reach Semis in 4 decades and goes on to join Pep and Mourinho as the ONLY 3 managers to have reached the Semis 8 times. Legendary manager. Respect to Chelsea as well. Amazing game.

@@padirujaapang chelsea had to work harder mentally and physically to claw back the deficit from the first leg...so it wasn't quite the same for Madrid ..who knew 1 goal was all they needed......not under the same pressure.

nothing mentioned about Chelsea second goal from a corner that was actually a goal kick

Only Di Maria and Modric can give such passes.

The better team in the first leg won and the better team in the second leg won. Unlucky to Chelsea as a very close matchup over the 2 legs but well done to Real. P.S if they play like they did tonight against City in semi’s…they’ll get punished

Thought the Ref were really biased in regards of yellow cards. Mordic kicked Havertz in the side and didn’t get anything, while a lot of smaller fouls instantly got yellow. Benzema could’ve easily been thrown off if the Ref were judging fairly. Would be lovely if there’s a statistic similar to xG, which analyzes and groups fouls into categories.

I could also say that if the ref was judging fairly, the Rudiger goal would not have happened because it was not a corner, it was a goal kick.

All damage done in the first leg. But one hell of a fight back in the second leg.

I think what he did since that first game was tell get into the players’ heads the fact that they cannot rely merely on the tactics put forward by the manager. It’s them who decide how these tactics are executed, it’s them who decide over win and defeat. He talks about a similar thing from his time at Mainz in this very insightful talk from back in the day (vid on my channel)

The spirit chelsea showed against this madrid team in Bernabeu is something that deserves all the appreciation. All credit to this man. Tuchel 🔥. Real had no answers to Chelsea's gameplan until that Luka modric's individual quality opened up Chelsea's defence. Well played Chelsea ❤️

Why is he complaining about Referee. Chelsea got most advantage. They scored their second goal from a corner which was not supposed to be in the first place. Then, the disallowed goal was clearly due to handball. They forgot that they were leading with 1 goal with 15 minutes left. From there, they conceded the last two goal. They were not unlucky. Real Madrid earned it. They simply could not maintain the same intensity after 75 minutes.

Seeing a lot of: “deserve to win” don’t know how long everyone watched football but the team that wins IS ALWAYS the team that has more legal goals. The team that plays the best DOESNT ALWAYS win. That’s football

He should be thankful to the referee that they were awarded a Corner which was never a corner. Which led to a goal.

Unhappy with the referee?? The referee was THE reason the game went into extra time. Chelsea's second goal came from a faux corner ffs.

We fought like brave gladiators. We showed the world how Champions play and fight despite being in crisis . Focus now is on the Fa Cup semi final.

Tuchel coached an amazing game - Chelsea lacked the clinical decision making which Real Madrid have perfected over the 13 tournaments they have won

@@manino5872 NOT VAR rules, its football rules applicable in all UEFA competitions......Chelsea is not an exception. VAR is just a technology to zoom into magnification of possible offenses. Its still the rules that apply, not necessary VAR.

@@jabuxaba9777 no it is. The rule is that even if the ball touches the hand and the team scores it will not count. It has nothing to do with Madrid or Chelsea. Also Chelsea had a goal that shouldn’t count with the corner. It was not a corner so don’t cry

Great team and great coach Tuchel... but Chelsea second goal by Rudiga wasn't also a goal, Rudiga fouled on Modric and the corner wasn't a corner in the first place. So Tuchel shouldn't be saying what he is saying. It was a great effort from both teams Chelsea being the better side but not going through.

That loss against Madrid really hurts. 10 minutes away from a miracle 😭

says the coach whose team scored from an invalid corner. real deserved it, they scored more goals.

The disallowed goal wasn't a mistake it was the rules.

A masterstroke of a substitution in Rodrygo and moments of magic from Modric and Benzema gave Madrid the tie. As a Madrid fan, I know we were outplayed, and there’s no shame in that, but experience and magical moments from majestic players made the difference. Btw, no one’s talking about how Madrid played 40 minutes with a back line of Marcelo - Alaba - Carvajal - Vasquez without conceding a goal? Should be highlighted a lot more, absolutely unbelievable to not concede with this scattered back line.

Forgetting the rüdiger goal came from a corner that should have been a goal Kick

If the attacker who just scored, touches the ball with the hand in any way, even if it is involuntary or if the hand is kept close to the body the goal must always be disallowed

Germany have many top notch coaches at the moment : Klopp, Flick and Tuchel. For me all of them are on the same level. These three along with Pep are top 4 managers in the world right now. Xavi and Ten Haag can also become as good at them in the future.

Chelsea almost winning the match, but "Awesome Long Ball" from Modric change game of the match. But Chelsea is playing so good so far.
