Lessons to be learnt from my point of view: 1. be prepared 2. have the right equipment 3. break down near a friend's place 🤣🤣🤣 Well recovered, mate and you both kept your cool (at least in front of the camera). Thanks for the video.

Being prepared up here is the number one priority. Breaking down near a friends house certainly helps. It was fairly tame as we knew that we were near friends if it had of happened in the middle of no where you just have to get on with it. We were also fortunate that the temp was just up around freezing and not -37 like the last time we went to see Ash and Marie!

Great example of going prepared pays off, even if you weren't 100% confident winching, having the equipment with you is makes all the difference.. low anchor point any you'd be surprised what you can winch off. New subscriber so off to watch your other vids

We were generally probably over prepared but it served us well! We are learning that about winching if you go slow then you’ve got more strength than you realise! Thanks for subscribing!!!

Well done for getting out in the end. From my experience trees are always stronger than they look. Get that anchor point as low as possible and watch the tree for movement as your pull on it

Yeah I think we are learning that about trees! 😂 we anchored as low as we could dig into the snow to reduce the lever point and just kept an eye on it!

It looks like you have synthetic rope, ditch those d shackles for some soft shackles so the risk of damage is reduced if they rope snaps plus they’re lighter to carry and won’t rattle on your back doors😂

Yeah it’s a synthetic rope, we have a single soft shackle, which we didn’t crack out just because the D shackles were easily accessible at the time! We don’t really hear anything, they are on tight with Velcro cable wraps and we are fortunate we don’t hear them 😊 but I think in the future we will go to full soft shackles! 💪
