Eight Gates needs to remain in one of your hands to stay active, best is to keep it in your offhand so you can use it with other jutsu. And you can just swap and scroll to turn it off when you want.

Sen you should probably take healing ninjutsu when it comes up because cellular activation heals the damage you take and only takes chakra for it and it also makes the 8 gates much more bearable to use and not just you losing a ton of health but you will still take damage just not as much as you would have

actually thats false. The thing with naruto is that it depends on the jutsu. For example, a stronger water jutsu would completely cut through a defensive earth jutsu/overpower an offensive jutsu. On a equivelant attack/defense jutsu your point would be true but it highly varies on jutsus. Elemental norms are negated depending on hiw strong the user/jutsu is. Wind is also the strongest element in naruto BUT in the fight with the Raikage it was shown otherwise because the Raikage's skin is so strong. So even with the disadvantage he would of won a fight due to him simply being more powerful. Also he was making a pokemon joke.

Btw you forgot that the rule that sufficient power can make up for type advantage does not apply to wind and fire because according to Kakashi's explanation fire will always beat wind because just coming in contact with a wind jutsu makes fire jutsu stronger.

@@whoisizuki also to my knowlege wind is the RAREST type, at least in the land of fire, not the strongest. It does however indeed have the type advantage over lightning you're right about that. It's not the raikages skin that matters it's his lightning cloak, which does indeed tank the most powerful wind jutsu in the series, the rasenshuriken, because the 3rd Raikage is an absolute monster. Doesn't change the fact that by pure type advantage earth is strong against water which was the whole point of my original comment. Edit: also raw power doesn't negate elemental advantage it overpowers it, massive difference.

Now that I think about it, one of the reasons the rasenshuriken got tanked might be because it's a death by a million cuts technique. It's basically a storm of microscopic blades that don't do much damage individually but there's so many of them that it doesn't matter normaly. But against what is basically a constantly regenerating incredibly dense energy shield with infinte batteries(edo tensei) might get hard countered despite the type advantage. The one known weakness of the 3rd raikages lightning cloak is an incredibly powerful singular piercing attack while Rasenshuriken is a massive fuckton of microscopic slashing attacks
