I’ve hooked one musky in my life and I wasn’t even trying to. We were trolling in a sailboat harbor in Fish Creek, Door County WI with some daredevils on spinning reels. Idk if it was quite 48 but it was one of the biggest fish I’ve ever seen…we didn’t have the proper equipment and she spit the hook right at the boat and flopped out of the net. My buddy is a much more experienced angler than I am and he was losing his mind. I’ve fished for many years since then and never hooked or seen another tiger musky but the patterns of Lee’s fish reminded me bc it looked just like that. I got one solid look at her from the side and it was beautiful. I’ve fished that same spot trying to catch her again for years but I don’t think they’re very common to that area…what a catch, congrats Lee

Watching Lee's reaction was priceless. What an amazing fish. Congratulations you definitely deserved it Lee.

I would probably like those myself and I don't need scripts. A bigger side frame to block sunlight helps out. Skinny arms make me squint and give me terrible headaches.

Hell yeah, that's what it's all about. Even a seasoned vet like Lee has those OMG moments in the boat. Congrats to your whole team. Those other dudes are cool, but you three are the best!

That was awesome. I haven’t fished for Muskie very much. Caught a 53’er in the 80’s as a kid. I live very close to Lake St Clair and I fish the St Clair River all the time. I’m getting after the Muskie this coming spring. Great video. Cheers

Incredible fish! I remember Joe Bucher saying long ago, that if he ever caught a 50” tiger, he would keep it. Wonder if that still holds true? I doubt you would have. I sometimes wonder how you do it, but you just keep on doing it over and over again!

You should check out the cannibalism study they did on tigers, they compared the cannibalism rate in female Pike x male musky tigers vs the male Pike x female musky tigers and the results were pretty wild. I'd be curious to know if they look any different

We don't let them take it too long and use a quick strike rig where multiple hooks somewhat prevent the rig from getting swallowed easier.
