Got myself a nice, 5 acre south-facing slope in Tennessee. Nitrogen fixing trees in the back (North), fruit/nut trees in front of that, fruit shrubs next, then perennial vegetables. Just downhill of that is a 3-foot grass/clover/medicinals pathway that chicken tractors are grazed over. Then an annual bed below that. Then there’s a swale and the whole thing repeats itself. The trees provide all of the mulch for the annuals, and the chickens do all the fertilizing and get their feed from the system. Can feed a family on an acre easily with this, and no inputs.

Permaculture is so important. Trees are necessary to bring life everywhere. Trees provide many benefits to each of us. No forest or trees means NO water. Water is the most important. Water is life.

Another DAMN smart video by this man. So true that the city folk think they are somehow living in an eco-friendly way and yet massively support eco-system destruction by relying on the outlying agricultural zones of monoculture cash cropping to feed them! If they would live in a self-sufficient way AMONG and WITH the natural world instead of crowded into their non-self sufficient unnatural cities, they could become true environmentalists / eco-regenerators.

I noticed that some of the comments were religiously oriented in the narrow sense of the word 'religion'. Now what is taught here is a matter of common sense shared by all of humanity, whether or not they believe in a divinity, and therefore based on universals common to all. It does not seem productive to me to extrapolate towards a specific religious vision knowing that this often constitutes a double-edged sword, one of which coincides with common sense which cannot be disputed by reasonable people and the other is sharp in the proper sense of the word since it excludes any opposing point of view and constitutes, alas, the cause of wars and crimes committed in the name of religion.

In these troubled times, we need a great deal of wisdom, knowing that the world will, probably, never be perfect. It is necessary, indeed, to encourage all the good wills whether they are believers or not. It is not because some men of religion manipulate gullible people that one should not keep faith and hope. Thank you for your interactivity.

the mistake is believing that we are separate from the system that sustains us... people think nature is "out there" and some place separate from their lives and that we have "come out" of the wilderness and into "civilization"... all the while not realizing that we are absolutely and completely dependent upon nature because we are not separate from this system we are a part of it..

A monk is not righteous because they do not become living sacrifices to help those in need and to strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. It is a demonic construct to keep them stagnant while satan goes to and fro and up and down the whole earth! Jesus says to lose your life and follow Him. We are called to live a life devoted unto good works unto to death.

Righteousness and judgement are not separate. Judgement is a ground of violence with first manipulation. So judgement isn't separate from hatred. In Christ consciousness these thoughts of I'm right because Im am helping the poor doesn't occur. There is only love and the sharing of joy and happiness right then and there; thats it. Also alot of monks are poor but will you help them and carry out Jesus call even tho they are different or in your extreme but not uncommon case stuck in demonic constructs?

@@devinphat9510 You are poor because you replace relationship with "consciousness" Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Repent from the rituals that have nothing to do with the light of the world! I am dead to the world and free from the flesh. I am literally in Christ, in the process of selling what I own and wish to remain unmarried. I will go to whereever God sends me and I know what type of death I will face.
