I love this guy. The only person anywhere who explains how this works and even draws a diagram. I should have come here first. Oh, and wood vinegar is not even close to the same thing as liquid smoke. Wood vinegar would kill you if you drank it straight. Liquid smoke is just smokey water.

Wood vinegar apparently has carcinogenic components. It was used successfully used in Japan for removing birds from the trees that they would aggregate in large number and make so much noise. Its better to use metal pipe instead of bamboo. Bamboo absorbs some of the liquid and also some trap in the bands section even if they be removed.

@@HomesteadForALiving nice, Never tasted it. In Germany we have a big water rat Nutria, wich tastes very good, tender like rabbit but a bit more flavorful. My granny had a cookbook for hunters from the 1800s with all kinds of animals nobody would dare to eat today. The only unpleasant meat I’ve eaten was fox

Again a nice one Sir. When is the right time to stop the burning process, is the 12 hrs time for the one full drum of wood? Are you also working on black soldier flies by any chance - as I m hearing lot of benefits out of it thought of asking you.

After we close the kiln about 3 hours we can open the kiln to get charcoal. The whole process is 12 hours. I have no experience with black soldier flies. It is good to try.

So the wood in the oil drum does not burn? It’s just the heat from the fire that turns it to charcoal? You have to keep refuelling the tunnel fire? I like your videos thank you

  • @JonJandaiLifeisEasy

We need to keep adding firewood for a while until the wood in the drum turn hot and burn itself because it burn with less oxygen the wood will turn to charcoal.

But it is better in a bottle, so you drink it and apply it to your skin. I'm gonna get a link for you, so you can see how it changes the shape of your blood cells, makes them better. It boosts your immune system.
