Yes I was gonna say haha. Rule of thumb is electronics use active components (transistors usually), electrics do not. Even in the spirit of the challenge they could have at least had electric lighting!

I'm only at the beginning, but I already love it so much, because it reminds me of my childhood where I played together with my friend sims. And that was like one person controlling and the other one giving advice. Such a nice time to remember !

Omg... I have always loved James and Gluon videos like Burger Boys... but this was totally next level. I couldn't stop laughing. The "infinity pool" was priceless, and I loved the lengths that they went to, in order to ensure no electronics. That elder is gonna be so over that space, especially because it looks like you could turn on the shower and bathe while sitting on the toilet. 🤣

It's so interesting how far we've adjusted. Feels so weird to light a "New York like" apartment with candles. BUT there was a large swath of time where what we think of as apartments existed and were lit by candles!

the chandelier in my apartment is designed to look like it has candles: the slots for light bulbs even look like melting wax. so whenever someone uses a candle chandelier in a modern apartment in Sims, I just imagine it's like the one I have 😁

Oh, if you guys are doing more things you should make it more of a surprise challenge. You both build the shell, and decorate the outside. Then you guys get random stuff for the insides. Random style, random amount of objects, random money (but both have the same amount of objects and amount of money, they just must use different styles). Then one person goes away and the other makes their section then they switch. So it's a surprise for the second person what the house looks like.

You actually can use telescopes inside next to a window in the sims 3. Sad they didn't think of that for S4.

I haven't watched a Sims video where I have laughed so hard in a really long time. These guys are pure Sims comedy gold. Complete chaos and I love it so much.

The elder didn’t technically need a full kitchen. She could get “meals on wheels” delivered if she was too afraid of electronics. Her apartment is actually nicer than SO much nicer than many NYC studios. She has a kitchen, living, partitioned bedroom, and a bathroom completely in it’s own room! My friend’s studio only fits a small kitchen, a bed, the toilet is in it’s own room but you need to use the kitchen sink and then the shower is in the middle of the room 😆

I'm kind of headcanoning that the elder is actually the parent of the adult sim upstairs so it's sort of like a multi-generation family home. Like having a granny flat except it's the same building.

The elder can bath the dog in the rain, sure 😅

lol I've always been a little weirded out by houses that front directly onto the street with big windows. I could never live in one, I'd be so paranoid about people looking in as they walk past!

Challenge idea... every room is a different occult sim style. (plantsim, vampire, werewolf, mermaid, etc.) You can only build vertically, each room on a different level. Ladders OR stairs to traverse each level. Basements allowed.

i don't know if it was already suggested, but it would be soooo cool to have a random challenge tool for community lots! 👀👀 i find it super hard to come up with ideas for community lots, so the challenge would be very helpful in that way
