Gotta be called Angleina!

I owned your cars sister for many years. 5741 MU or Muriel was our family car from 1980 until about 1993. I saved her in a shed to restore but moved to the USA in 2009 and ended up giving her to a local fellah who had an Anglia for spares. 200,000 miles in that fantastic little car and more memories I can remember Muriel was blue with a white roof and exactly the same spec as yours by the look of it. Late to see this Mike, I'm sure a lot has happened since but your very early Anglia is wonderful , in the perfect original colour and distinctive early ' reverse ' number - don't ever be tempted to sell it - part of your family history now !

Do not forget to clean or replace the heater radiator, which pollute the inside over the years and limit your cooling, I speak from experience.

Mk3 2.8 EFI Granny had cast ally rocker covers from the factoty. Rare beasts as the 2.8 was very short lived in the Granny before the 2.9 came in which was different & had pressed steel rocker covers.

Much sympathy. Experienced the same with engine timing /flooding on my '36 Old's - grand wedding of a friend. Just made it in the end and beat a hasty retreat afterwards. No one was aware of the absolute agony throughout.

The biege escort had overheating problems once upon a time 😅 did you leave the thermostat ring in with the centre removed? Or remove the whole thing? Without at least the disc in there there’s no back pressure so the water bypasses the whole rear section of the block 😂 literally the pump pushes it straight out the top hose!!

Whole thing was in the boot. It needs a new rad also I’m told the heater is plumbed up the wrong way so that won’t help either.

I've had 3 old Fords & I've had starting problems with all 3. Nice cars to look at, but I would never touch an old Ford again. And based on my experience with a newer Ford, I won't be looking at new Fords either

Should of used mine to get there in style 😂😂

I own a anglia 10 inch electric fan will fit maybe run a alloy radiator to help with cooling as well. Look up a company called cosmic gasket burton power sell them

Cool car, I had 1 in the 70's. but i had to stop watching your clip after 4 minutes due to head spin. i suggest you get a proper camera or take a cause in photography :(
