I loved playing these balls when I started playing over 30yrs ago and still enjoy them for the price. They meet regulations and I don't swing 120+ so I don't see much difference except for around the green. They are great to practice with and not feel guilty if you lose one, which to me equals 5 stars.
I use the V300, 37.5 pence each, I find them great, tried expensive one’s but find the Slazenger best for me.
I play with the V300 Slazenger balls. I've hit my longest ever drive with one. Don't notice much of a difference between them and premium balls
Got my first set of clubs from sports direct. It was a very cheep way of getting into golf and finding out if I liked it before spending loads of money. Which I now do!
Excited to watch, good luck with everything, and have a great day😀⛳🏌️♂️!
Best advice I've had about golf balls is buy the best ball you can afford. I play off 13 and I play a Taylormade project S atm only £19.99 a dozen. I look to spend between 20-25 pounds per dozen. My budget and standard of golf thats what I'm happy to pay 👍. Great stuff lads keep um coming
I use the Slazenger V300. Had some nice chips and puts, can't fault the ball, but the player, well...

Used these for two years mate, brilliant value for money and couldn't really fault the ball. I changed this year to the Inesis distance 100 at Decathlon, a fiver a dozen. They feel so soft and drive further than the v300 did by quite a margin, definitely recommend a go. 41p a ball!
I use the v300 softer than the v100 and for the price I think great. Also as a 20 handicapper done test with titlest pro v and v300 the only difference I noticed is how much I cried when the pro v goes in the lake compared to the v300
Janes I use the Slazenger’s as I have only started golf What’s the point of me buying expensive balls when I’m learning and loosing them. I have bought the complete Slazenger set. Sometimes people think you have to pay more but if the skill isn’t there they won’t make you play better and I’m talking hundreds of pounds difference Enjoy your videos Cheers Glyn

I agree with that Rick shiels has proven this many times a real golfer who actually knows what hes talking about lol
Loving the golfing vids!!! Keep ‘em up
Not going lie James I think Chris is absolutely hilarious 😂 my kind of humour! Keep it up lad your smashing it with daily content
Mate, ran into this vid on youtube. I'm in South Africa and have played Tankersly a few times with my Cuz Oliver and my Aunt Penny and crazy uncle Craig My mom grew up in the famous Grice house, great to watch, thanks you made my day.
Just started playing again after 12 year’s, I’m playing off 28 and trying hard to improve and get somewhere near how I used to play.. I bought two boxes of these for a tenner and I’m not ashamed at all! There’s no way £3 for a v1 ball is going to improve my game enough to justify the cost difference (and I don’t cry when I drown a ball) 😂. Fantastic video’s, keep up the great work 👍
I love Chris’s humour! Don’t understand how he got bad reviews when he first came onto the channel!? Keep up the great work!
Nice to see yourself and Chris playing the ‘slazwanger’ golf ball, i put a comment on Chris’s channel to see what spin is possible!!. I play with the Slazenger V300 ball (24 balls £13) I lose a lot of balls 😂😂😂
Brilliant. James and Chris, you make a great duo. Re. Slazenger balls. I never bought one, but found a few at the local course, and to be fair I don't have a problem with them. I don't have any love for Rock Flight (Topfilte) or Barnacles, (Pinnacle) and leave those in the fairway for someone else if I find them.
I had a box of these bought for me as a Christmas present and nothing else, it's nice to know how much I'm thought of! 🙄😳😂👍⛳ Love the vids fellas.
Good video as usual James,I’m with you it doesn’t matter what ball you use it usually down to the user👍
‘On yer Tod’ not heard that phrase in yonks 🤣👍
Chris has been on FIRE with the let’s do it 😂
My son and I were backed up on the 10th tee, 2 groups in front. When we finally were going to our 2nd shot, I spotted a brand new ball in the open and asked him to check it out. Top Flight. We kept walking.
Nice one, always keep a spare glove in your bag even if you don't use one 😆 These balls are spot on, just a bit clunky around the greens.
i use the v300 same price but in yellow so i can hopefully find them when they go awol in the woods on the next hole coudn't think of anything worse than loosing 8-10 expensive balls a round
Get yourself round Normanton GC, the big pond to the left off the 1st will suit you lovely
I can relate! I used to buy the cheapest balls in the store....and results mostly not good
Would be interesting to see you guys play a variety of distance balls on course... pinnacle gold volvik vivid xt Top flight bomb Also fun to see how well/poorly they are for approach shots. See if they have any stopping power.
What’s the best type of ball for my 6 year old son ,who’s just starting to play golf ( we’re at the range every Saturday lol ) cheers mate .Great vids as always.
use the v300 from slazenberg and happy with it, not sure more expensive ball help me to save more than 3 or 4 shots on a 18 holes round so keep my money for lessons or beer

i use them the orange ones i like them
I used to play the Slazenger V100. It was very wooden feeling as it was my cricket bat. Do Slazenger use V100 for lots of products?
I've brought the slazenger v300 soft balls before
Chris.is playing really well and I agree that you play to your budget
Give him heaps, Chris. Too hard for today's clubs, check out your clubs after the round. Lol enjoyable once again.....lol
That's the most emotion I've seen from Chris during an intro yet
I've played these before, they were the first ball I used when getting into golf because I didn't mind losing any. I still buy them now and again when I feel like I'm not playing all that great, just until I'm back in the groove.
I played slazenger balls some back in the day and I don't wear a glove and I used to run out and play 3-4 holes after work before it got dark, good times 😅🤷♂️
Should try the v300 soft balls. That's the one I play and I love them. Let me know. If you want me to send you some.
My £10.99 V100 56 wedge filled a gap in my bag and is working well for me and has given me an inexpensive insight as to what can be achieved with a 56. Did the same with a 60 and 64. Treat it as an experiment!
You should review the v300, 48 balls for £20! I bought some the other day because I've been playing dreadful and I've been pleasantly surprised by them.
Never used this one. But a decade ago or so when I started playing, used to like playing Slazenger Select. Was a cheap ball that performed decently.
what weather do you have there? here in Portugal today it is 36.5 degrees, very hot, James comes to Portugal to make some videos, please
Now that's a good review. Just get out and play not try and go head to head, because I have my favorites and might try hard with the ball I like more. 👍👍
How does it compare to Inesis 100 ball from Decathalon? Same low price right? Same surlyn cover?
Agreed... any ball works - a ball that has been "fit" for you is worth probably 1 to 2 strokes (maybe)
Great for winter golf when balls plug on the fairway!
Still love my Tour B XS, AVX, and TP5, ProV1 in that Order lol
I'd buy reasonable lake balls, before the V100's. It terms of clubs, my first set were brand new in a bag for £68 and I've played them for 10 years. I only just changed them for £500 set of Cobra XL speed. Still cheap, I know, but I'm really enjoying playing with them, and I'm improving, not because of the clubs, but because of a renewed enthusiasm.
Sometimes i wonder how much the name and price influences our shots? To most players, if you said "this is a new ProV1 challenger", many would play it quite well and rate it highly.
Didn't Slazenger have a cricket bat called the V100?
😂😂 brilliant, I took my son to play Carnoustie and bought him they exact balls 🤭 I hit one and it was like hitting concrete..... he lost 6 on the front 9 and was delighted!!!!
Now I’m confused. What day is it now?..🙄 great vid and funny
I use the v300 in the winter, just as cheep, and not upset when it goes in the water🏌️♂️
I went one better (worse) and bought 50 Slaz lake balls for £15. I use them in the winter and always have a couple in my bag if I’m playing crap, so I don’t lose more decent balls!
the funny thing is a use the V300 versions i like them
Bought a Wilson harmonized putter and dunlop tour 60 wedge from sports direct. Still game them both. Bargains
Would be great to see someone test the v300 balls. The v100 is rubbish but the 300 is quite a decent ball and great value.
Tend to find cheap balls are not lost as often as expensive ones as rarely find them unlike Titleist, Taylor Made and Callaway balls.
I've played with them balls cos I was loosening loads and I thought they were alright. Also bought my son (7) slazenger clubs from sports direct and for price and how quickly they grow there worth it
It would be interesting to see Chris's reaction if you told him they were 5 star balls before you started playing them...

Great comment, it's all in the perception.
Slazenger clubs too! They do a job, no frills etc, cheap and cheerful... Have better equipment now, but tbh, play the same at my level. 😜
you would have to play head to head with your favorite ball to really show how good or bad You are playing ! do you normally par and birdie every hole?
Fun round. What is like to play back where you worked? Those balls sounded like rocks. Feel must have been inconsistent.

You guys are hilarious
For several years I’ve been playing balls that my golf bud Steve brings back after a long stay at his place in Cabo. Lots of ProV1s and other great balls. Haven’t bought a ball in years. We call them Cabo Balls. Free is best!
I use the slazenger V300 'soft' balls for practice rounds which are cheaper (for whatever reason) than the V100 balls. £20 for 48. In reality they make no difference what so ever to my scores.
ahh slice-enger balls. We use to find these around our local course and always left them there. Quite often the covers were destroyed and or in terrible shape.
love a bit of online sportsdirect sale shopping. Bought a pair of slazenger spikeless shoes for next to nothing, just as stable and comfy as my FJs 🤷🏻♂️ Pity it takes a month to get here to Perth 🐫📦 #donttellAl #golfboxisexpensive
They are the balls I have used since I started playing. Maybe why I’m still a 28 handicap.
Forgot your glove & had to use an old one? Wish my good glove looked that fresh!! 😂
Am I the only one who every time Chris tees off imagines/wants him to ...(whoosh)...Snell!!!!!
To be fair I've only ever used Donnay or lake balls up until recently so I'm sure they'd be like a Pro V1 to me!
I have used it as you don't feel upset when you go right off the tee on the 18th at TP as a high handicapper 🙄
1 star from 1 review.
Hi boys I use the v300 balls if you lose them cheap enough just to get a new one out also I started with there v300 full set £159.00 up graded now I've improved a little bit lol I agree you not lost a lot of money if you don't enjoy it 🏌🏌
is there a reason you dont use shot tracer, it would make it more enjoyable to watch?
I remember that these balls and clubs were popular in the 70’s and 80’s.
I’m a golf ball snob, I have old Nike, slazanger, Dixon and taylormade ball’s collecting dust in the shed. Most of them were door prizes at golf outings
Found a ball called inesis on the course and thought i'll use it over the pond, birdie, must say it didn't feel that bad. Was told in the clubhouse their £4.99 a dozen in a place called Decathlan.
I wouldn’t wish those golf balls on my worst enemy lol 😂
My son has just started playing golf James and I told him don't get expensive golf balls and he got the same balls. 🏌️♂️⛳👍
Played there many years ago , lovely course but I prefer Wortley which is just up the road from Tankersley.

@@JamesRobinsonGolf It always had a special feel to it , used to play 4-5 rounds a year there until I got a back injury and had to stop playing, but I may be making a comeback , watching all your videos has got me wanting to try and start playing again.
Just came across this. Think I got a 'better' bargain from SD. 48 Slazenger V300 for £20. Went for bright orange. Still cannot find them without help.
Lol that is a 1 star rating with 1 review.
Slazenger balls. One star. 18 balls for $14. They were good balls to learn on. About as good as range balls. Never broke 120 with them. Didn't care when I lost one. Didn't care when one went in the drink. Hacked my way around the course for one summer. They felt like hitting a rock. Then I got Cobra irons and took some lessons and got Callaway Hex Chromes.
Golf Monthly did a YT review on the Slazwanger V100 - they were incredibly low spinning with a wedge, otherwise ok.
Try the Srixon Marathon distance golf balls. I paid £7 for 12 last winter and was completely ripped off. It was at this point I realised that I do have standards.
I have used Slazenger Distance soft when I first started golfing 9 years ago. They were rated as a poor man's premium ball because of suprising playability for the money.
Slazwanger 😂😂😂fpmsl, the best golf partnership on KZread, quality quality quality
Great shows boys
Hey chriss is the man🤘
Used a couple Volviks today. Lost em both.
On guard! 😂
You being from the UK? That ball brand's best mention was in an old James Bond movie.
Have V300, but going to give them to my playing partner while I use Wilson 😏
If they're cheep I'd golf them! I'd hate to loose a good one😆 Sometimes i play like Tiger Woods..i mean like a tiger in the woods 🔎 looking for my ball.
The v100 are pretty poor, I currently use the v300 soft Slazenger in orange or yellow and TBH at £18 for 48 balls it's a no brainer. Must confess that my Ben Sayers wedges regularly mark them up, but at such a cheap price can't say I'm bothered. Playing off 19 so don't see that an expensive ball would make that much difference. @jamesrobinson maybe you need to do a test of a ProV1 and V300 and a higher handicapper. 38p per ball against £3+ per ball, worth a look?

@@OncleJer I did start off using a Srixon soft feel and found a Slaz soft feel when looking for one of my strays, but in all honesty I can't feel any difference using the Slazenger.
I have bought a lot if Slazenger balls.. not bad.. I like them
Ahh Tankersley... few rounds there in my youth with my uncle.
About time somebody tried cheaper balls for us poor golfers.
