I use to drive a W900 like that with 5 axles, 3 were drop axles.

I love driving 18 speed. I have a 26ft trailer on Sterling dump truck. It can be a little scary dumping from 30 ft in the air.

As a Transformers fan, I think this dump truck is a perfect g1 Megatron

18 ton and your at your limit with a quad axle. I really don’t understand other states bridge laws. In Connecticut we put 22-24 tons on tri axles. Really great looking truck. I like the tool box behind the cab.

We haul 25-27 tons over here in Jersey… 18 ton limits for states is crazy

No need to split downshift unless going uphill and need it. An old mechanic told me not to piss with the thumb split unless necessary.

Easy to operate or drive heavy equipment but it takes more to maintain and repair what you operate, daily.

Whats the specs, was it a regular road truck before conversion?

Don’t know much about trucks but what’s the wooden board for going across the top of bed?

Don’t ruin a perfectly good paint job. No to the white paint.

Where can I get the diamond plate box between the cab and dump box?

If that truck doesn’t have a steering on the right side, the power steering will grenade itself because it has to work too hard with those floaters on the front. I bet it isn’t a heavy spec unit. Most road tractors aren’t heavy spec and end up breaking down or killing people because it isn’t safe.

That truck cost more than it's worth without a lift gate and it's heavy . The only way a converted truck is worth buying if you can convert it yourself .

I work for a paving company out of st cloud. Just wondering if you happened to have a truck and driver available for a day or even a few hours would you haul asphalt for us? Trucking is getting getting harder to find as of late. Thanks!

You could! But wouldn’t hurt to go drive for someone else for at least a few months to get a better feel for what you’re getting into

The fact you bought this beautiful Peterbilt, then your loading with a skid steer, think you should start with other equipment. Just saying.
