We just wanted to briefly answer a few questions from the comments about this truck and its equipment. In spite of its appearance, this is a very capable and highly productive work truck. While it may not be popular for a lot of experienced drivers, the fact of the matter is an automatic transmission makes sense in this job market. Available driver pools are generally much younger and less experienced these days. So it's important to make the truck as easy to drive and safe as possible if you operate a fleet. The R/S-Godwin hybrid steel/aluminum dump body is the only of its kind. It offers the light weight and appearance of an all aluminum dump, but with the added longevity and durability of an AR steel floor and front. If this body is used for what it's meant for, it will last at least twice as long as an all aluminum bed. Lower maintenance, and no regular floor plating. It'll also dump cleaner and faster with no 'washboarding' of the floor. The hydraulic speed on this truck is turned town, but it's capable of dumping nearly twice as fast as an industry standard dump while using less oil and hose burst protection. Yes, it can be made to dump higher if needed. The hydraulic touch pad in the cab is a new Allied Mobil Systems 'Evolution' control. The system is meant to protect the truck and public infrastructure from inexperienced drivers. It will automatically lower the body, disengage the PTO, and latch the tailgate if the driver forgets. It can also help prevent rollovers. All those settings are fully customizable. This system can also track driver performances, percentage of maximum load hauled, number of loads, miles driven, etc. So its also designed to make more money. It usually mounts to the air ride seat so the drive isn't chasing the controller in bumps. The number of axles and the spacing thereof is dictated by individual state laws and local bridge requirements. This particular truck is specifically built to maximize capabilities in North Carolina. The access door on the front of the body is usually on the driver side (passenger side on this truck) to allow easier access inside the body without climbing over the side. It's accessible using the behind the cab platform which is standard on this style of dump body form Godwin. The sloped front of the body allows for improved blind spot visibility, hydraulic component access for maintenance, behind cab storage and toolboxes, WITHOUT sacrificing load capacity or axle load distribution. The slope simply replaces the old dog box. The highlift gate works as a normal tailgate, or lifts with air cylinders for bulky loads like stumps. The geometry of the rear of the truck allows for asphalt use without the need for a rear asphalt lip. This truck is owned and operated by Privette Transport Inc out of Wendell, NC. ALL of his equipment is this well kept. He is very particular about his equipment and operation. Best of all, he's a GREAT guy! Special thanks to Chris for sharing!

As someone that's drove dumps for 20 years and owned, the justification for having an automatic absolutely baffles my mind. Putting an inexperienced younger driver in a truck of that stature (length, turning radius, ect, would not be something I would do as an owner, the transmission would be the last of my worries vs every other aspect of that truck. The fact of the matter is an automatic is more expensive and more prone to trouble than any manual, and if you can't find a driver that properly operate a manual transmission, I damn sure wouldn't trust them to operate a truck of this caliber. But I'm sure my 20 years of experience in even longer trucks with more axles and with a hell of a record of taking care of equipment doesn't qualify me to say this explanation and justification is moronic. I'll be damned if I would have a young and inexperienced driver in a truck like that.

While we operate different trucks in Europe, it is nice to see this chap so proud of this new truck. When he lifted the body I liked the front mounted hydraulic ram and the fact he didn't rev the nuts off the pump. Just let the hydraulics do their job. I can't tell you how much money I spent at the Iowa 80 truck stop, which is the World's biggest truck stop. They have an awesome Chrome shop and every light you could ever imagine! I used to spend my extra time at home to either put on more lights and chrome or sit there for hours polishing chrome!!! Thanks Chris for posting this, it made me think of the good Ole days!! We don't have things like that in the Netherlands. You just have a maximum axel load, and per tire. I believe it's 5 tons per normal tyre and 10 tons for the big single tyre. Max 50 tons without permit. In Germany 40 or 42 tons. But I am not sure, not being a trucker but a son of a trucker.

Available driver pools are generally much younger and less experienced these days. So it's important to make the truck as easy to drive and safe as possible if you operate a fleet. A real thing of beauty! He has every reason to be proud of it. Love the color and the red, white and blue tarp. Thanks for showing it to us.🤙🏼

Man as a retired heavy haul driver. Man what a beautiful rig. Hats off to Privette. He really did that one up
I thought Uncle John had a really nice truck. That truck is way beyond nice. Never would have guessed that Wendell would have all that nice equipment and ponds.
I drive dump trucks for a living and this is one of the nicest I've seen. Peterbilt will style have a nice truck with the new style that's made to look like old school but want nothing be able to take the place of these beauty's. Congratulations on the very very nice ride.
It is a beauty and it's huge! Can carry a load or two with that. At first I wondered if John had gotten a new truck. Just like two kids blowing the horn! Thanks for sharing his joy with us all. It's contagious!
While we operate different trucks in Europe, it is nice to see this chap so proud of this new truck. When he lifted the body I liked the front mounted hydraulic ram and the fact he didn't rev the nuts off the pump. Just let the hydraulics do their job. I don't know if these use swash plate or gear pumps. I'd just be worried about that beautiful body and loader operators. Well done that man, nice job.
As a tipper driver in the uk 🇬🇧 All I can say is that beast is a thing of beauty. My dream truck right there ❤️👍🏻

Whilst a thing of beauty to look at it wouldn't hold a candle to a European tipper to drive every day European tippers far superior to drive and operate
Wow!! That truck is so nice that it should only go to shows! Man, definitely the nicest I’ve ever seen. Well done to your friend Chris.
Wow that truck is a sight to behold. The slow under-shot of the driveline was 👌
The first heavy equipment operator that drops a rock on it . . . Oh my.

Five (rear) axles! The thing is, when they're all on the road there will be some serious tire scuffing in a sharp turn

Really nice specked truck! Classic Pete style. I just hate Allison transmissions for myself!
I hope he can get parts for many years to come. It's truly a work of art.
As a truck guy I appreciate the tour of this beauty. Truck looks really good.
Wow😮!!! That is one fine piece of machinery right there!!! I'd be half scared to use it for what it's made to do. Looks like a trailer queen!😊
He seems like one of the good old boys. And he sure does have some really nice trucks. Thanks for sharing.
That is a beautiful truck! I sold trucks for nearly 45 years in the Greensboro area, selling Freightliner the last 31 years. They had the 122SD, which was an old school truck like the Pete, but I hate to admit, the Petes have always looked the best to me overall. Good luck, drive safe, and make a lot of money with this beauty!
Absolutely gorgeous. I have been to a few truck shows and this might be the finest dump i have seen. When i got the notification about another truck i thought that maybe you had bite the bullet and purchased another dump. I had mentioned in a comment about you needing another one to eliminate that down time waiting for the truck to dump. Especially when you have those 500 load jobs. Thanks for another great video brother and allowing us to see this beauty.

Yeah, I was expecting to see a LD18 logo on the door when it pulled out of the garage!
That has got to be the nicest dump truck I've ever seen. . . . 👍 I'd hate to be the one who had to wash and wax it before a show. That'd be a three day job, at least. . . . . 🤣
I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years now. Now I have a 2-1/2 year old son and he watches them with me. He loves your videos! Just want to say thank you for letting us watch and being part of the journey. Watching your videos brings so much excitement and joy to my son. Thank you again. Stay strong and be safe 🤙🏼🇺🇸
Very nice, Thanks for sharing, Chris. It is nice to get to the point where you can get what you always wanted. That's years of work.
OHHHHH MY!!!! That Peter Car is a beauty. I don’t think I would have the will to take that sweet heart out to the first load and get it dirty. Just an awesome truck and congratulations to the owner, very happy for him. Thanks for the tag along video sir.

Wow That is a beautiful dump truck😀👍NC
The only thing I'd hual with that beauty queen would be cotton or Siesta Key sand lol Hello all from Siesta Key Florida
OMGosh! Fell in love with Peterbuilt trucks over 65 years ago as a 5 year old traveling to Disneyland in CA. Dream came true when I was able to travel across TX in one about 20 yrs ago. Congratulations to your friend…this is an absolute beauty!
Wow as a Veteran of many years I love the cover and what a beautiful truck this is and don’t see to many trucks with this many axes here in Iowa
Growing up in Australia, in the 70.s this was the dream truck, PETERBUILT, sweet sweet ride, so many years still cool, USA all day, luv it
That truck is so amazing. Love it. Thanks for showing it.
What a beautiful truck, Chris thanks for showing us the gem!
They are nice trucks! I have worked for freightliner and cummins and I wonder if these new truck will be running in 40 years like those old beasts from the 70's. The new electronics are so nice but I always worry availability in 30 years for stuff. What a truck though! That cummins Nd allison pair in my opinion can't be beat. Although I do like a good C15 and manual trans.
Thanks Chris Great change of pace!!👍👍
Hurts my soul knowing that those square body hoods will soon be a thing of the past. I guarantee people will still make conversion kits looking for that 389 look💙
Wow that truck is amazing. And it’s even brand new. He must do a lot of hauling or he just had an expensive hobby lol. At first I thought Chris bought a new truck thinking he ain’t got time for a truck.
That truck is a beauty. Keep up the awesome work and there will be more and more pretty toys coming to the yard.💯
Me as a union operator, i would shit myself if id have to load that. What an absolute rig! Costs more than my house 😂
I've driven a lot of trucks, nothing approaching that though. Wow, that's a nice truck. Best regards from Indiana.
I’m just glad that it’s his truck & not mine. Mine had some extra lights but they all had a purpose, signal or stop & clearance that was it. Plus mine was before DEF. And I sold it when ELD came into effect. Sure is a Pretty truck. Thank you for the video Thank you Sir
That's stunning. Lucky man to drive something that nice.
That is one beautiful truck. I would almost hate to take it out on a job and put dirt in her. LOL. Going to take a bit of work to keep her looking good. Thanks for sharing.
That's one slick rig right there hope to see it around Raleigh. You can tell he backed a few of them in a building before. Pretty work fellas
Best looking dump truck I've seen. Very nice. Old truckers never die, they get their Peterbilt.
It's a real head turner even without winding the horns up bro. Just love the color too. Big thanks for taking us along as well. Safe travels
The Allison’s are almost bullet proof great choice. Very nice ride
Shoooot, that sure is a fantasy lookin rig right there! Man that things sweet lookin. I don't now a driver alive that wouldn't be proud to drive that thing every day.... jeez! I really like that aluminum dump box and that blue color! Super nice lookin truck!
Stunning. Smart to go with the automatic.
Nice truck for sure! I can remember when that was a xmall town and now it's built up like everything else around that part of the state and here as well.
Beautiful truck!! During my big rig days I used to customize every truck I had!! I was a boat hauler and we to many boat shows with my trucks. The last one I customized was a '99 379 Petrbilt with the 550hp Cat with the 18 speed! I loved all the chrome I put on and all the lights I put on, I looked like a Christmas tree at night heading down the road! Those were the best times I had during my over the road days! Last time I drove these big rigs was in '04 where I was forced to retire because of an injury on the job that someone did to me that could of been avoided by them and and had no regard for the driver's safety!!
The weight limit difference is crazy. Up north is 80k on a tri axle. 20k per axle

So what could you legally haul with this truck? I was surprised also when he said that’s all he could haul. Tri axles around me can haul 25 ton I believe.
Can never get tired of that country accent sounds like music 🎶 🎵 😆
Oh my goodness! That is the most Beautifullest truck I’ve ever seen in my life what a thing to be proud of that is so impressive and the ride and the transmission shifting and the sound of those horns oh my goodness! And the nice thing, too is the American flag on the top of the tarp and the lights. Wow that is what dreams are made of their buddy. Thanks for showing us this video for sure! Have a great day mine was just made.
Man that Pete is beautiful, wow that's impressive, thanks for sharing, that's one of a kind that's for sure
Seen the hybrid body when R/S started building them..... AWESOME TRUCK 😊

Wow what a pimped-out dump truck! So shiny and clean :)
Awesome Pete the man sure knows his trucks great video thanks Chris
Thats a beautiful truck & definitely one to take to the shows .If that were mine the heaviest thing it would be hauling would be the families groceries 😂

Nice truck!! Now to see it go to work!
So flipping clean and smooth...love it
What a beauty, love the blue painted frame.
What a beautiful rig!
Absolutely Beautiful Pete ! Love The Color As Well !
beautiful, thanks for showing off!
That is one beautiful rig. Loud backup beepers. He won’t run over anyone with that.
Loving American truck culture 👌 please explain the single wheel Axles 😊
She is a beauty. I remember seeing it at the shop being put together. 👍🏻
Man that is nice. Definitely something to be proud of
Shit dirt falling off the loader , the other day I had a loader park his wheels against my body , after the third time I erupted out of the cab and said WTF the operator looked at me like I was an idiot , you got a nice unit, it shows you’re pride , good for the industry 💪
That is one beautiful truck!!!! Damn!!!
Some of the CLEANEST trucks around Raleigh for sure!!
👍🏻👍🏻Great looking piece of equipment.
Wow beautiful machine... Very nice details. So all the extra wheel's are only needed when driving on the interstate... Because I never see them being used in the videos.
Absolutely stunning! UK trucks do the business, but they're not a patch on American trucks, especially in the looks department. Thanks for sharing, Chris. 👍
Nice color of blue! Beautiful truck!
Congratulations One amazingly beautiful truck. Love the color. Hearing a train whistle on the interstate I may have a heart attack.
That is one nice looking dump truck, my favorite color love it.
WOW! What a beautiful machine 👍👍👍
Awesome looking wrap!!!!!!
That truck really is pretty. You can tell he takes care of good stuff, like you do Chris. I was thinking the same as you, is there a rug to wipe my feet before I get into the truck?!
Wow what a beautiful truck!!! Class
That's one sweet truck ❤ the color.
Very nice rig sir! Congratulations!
A very nice truck. The back up beeper sounded louder than the train horn !
Well...2023 is not the last year of the 389...I just got in a 2024 389... With the same Cummins motor, same HP...I love my truck! I got about 17,600 on it now tho... But for a half a million dollars... Payments are 8600/month... But what i do... That's one week and it's paid! I do love the new dash layout...i absolutely love the anti-theft they have now..put in a 4digit code and no one can even turn the motor over... It's sweet! It is the latest and greatest to ever put in a truck.
What a Gorgeous Dump Truck, I know he is super proud of it, great Video.
Sick truck man ,best I've seen in years on KZread.
All them axles for just 78,100# is wild to me! In Alabama with just one drop axle they can go 82,500#
When you do put the chains on it, make sure they are chrome! Be well.😉
