We Bought A Civic | Juicebox Unboxed #65

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We get our hands on a rare EK4 SIR Civic and get nostalgic about our Honda filled younger years.
This was supposed to be a short episode but we added an extended chunk to the end and ruined any chance of this being finished on Monday!

I know this video has been up for awhile now, but every time I watch it, all I can think about is the same exact experiences we had in the US. Granted we didn't have the luxury of having lots of type-r's running around, but Honda power was everything when we were young in the early 2000's.

I was heavy into VWs when I was younger, until I drove my friend's B16 swapped Acura EL (cdn market "fancy" civic). after hitting VTEC bashing corners in that thing I wanted nothing to do with my MK3 golf anymore, I needed a Honda. bought an EG hatch with a B18, had it for three years then "upgraded" to my altezza. that's a fun car itself although it's not the same, but if all goes to plan that civic will be mine again in the next couple months, and it won't be leaving me again

as a german guy who lives in germany where everyone drives vw's i can relate. every single person who ever came behind the wheel of my hondas was extremly suprised by how fucking quick these cars are with these small engine sizes. some just didnt want to belive that the car barely made 160nm but still goes like that. and also the handling as well. a golf feels like a bathtub full of water trying to go around a bend in comparsion. i allways preach that people should try these cars but here in germany most things are vw and other german cars. nice mostly but boring behind the wheel imo.

I always get the same story with my older brother also. Me and him bought an all original, grandma owned and well maintained EK Civic DX in the U.S. I detailed the car and paint corrected it and left it stock and the EK4 SIR wheels was the only change. People would come up saying "hey I used to have an EK" or "damn that EK hatch is so clean". Now a days (here in the U.S) an all stock and extremely clean EK hatch is rare because people would abuse it so much that people would have a hard time finding a clean one. Same with the 240 and the integra.

All the awesome stuff went to the Japanese market like digital auto climate control, even though all wagons are made in the US. I started watching back at episode 1 and it is still really cool to see the enthusiasm to the cars that got you into it in the first place. Not a huge crowd for Accords but still what got to me. Here is to having a nice Honda one day!!!!

especially these hondas of that early 90s vintage have some character. i had an ed6 (90' 1.5i 90hp) as a daily driver and it ran like nothing else. i had no issues keeping up with 2.0 golf gti's. and they handle so well too. much more responsive in any aspect then the usual euro hatches from that time. i still have an ek4. but id love to have an ee/ef/ed or an eg (wich i also had 2 of) again.

very excited for honda content. me and my very good friend have a pair of ek's, canada spec. created our own grip racing program called grippy feet for ppl to enjoy honda/ff/grip fun at our local track. hondas also get a bad rap because they get so trashed and never maintained that it can be easy to give up on them too. once you drive a working one, its real hard to not want to drive them all the time.

I was always attracted to a Mercedes 190,but sadly it was out of my price range and my accident i stumble upon a white EF with a 1.4 carburated engine. It has 90 hp but it goes like stink, and i think i was bitten by the Honda bug when i took her for a test drive. Not regreting my decision,so happy with my purchase, can't wait for some sunny weather so i can take her on a proper drive thru some back roades! 😁✌

I am from America and the JDM stuff is becoming very popular at a rapid rate at the moment and prices are rising. Even though quite a bit of people hate civics in the US there is still a huge Honda crowd. You gotta keep in mind we have a lot bigger of a population too. So it may seem like a lot of people hate civics but there is actually a lot of love for them too. Thought i'd give some insight.
